The Study focused on the four areas First, the Study examined the changing identity of the LIS Professionals, and change in LIS curricula. Second, the study addressed the transition from the traditional library to the virtual model. Third, the study asked how the traditional technical service of LIS professionals is changing to user-centered service. Finally, the study viewed the skills and the roles of the LIS professionals.

도서관은 전통적으로 지식과 정보자료를 수집하여 보존하는 기능을 담당해 왔다. 그러나 현대 후기산업사회에 적응하기 위해서는 이러한 전통적 기능 외에 과학기술정보의 신속한 공급은 물론, 개인의 지적 활동과 문화향수 및 여가선용의 극대화를 도모하고, 특히 지역사회 주민들의 문화복지를 증진시키기 위해 도서관 프로그램을 적극적으로 활용토록 자극하는 사회문화적 역할이 더욱 강조돼야 한다. 공공도서관 업무의 문화부이관을 골자로 하는 '도서진흥법'의 시행으로 이제까지와는 전혀 다른 질적 변화의 계기를 맞고 있는 우리 도서관은, 과연 이같은 역할과 과제의 수행을 위해 어떤 노력들을 기울여야 할 것인가. 지난 도서관주간에 열렸던 학술대회에서의 논의를 정리한다.

Th term "hybrid library" refers to the collection of material in print, electronic and other media library hold and give access to. Hybrid library is the type of library that national library is toward in the digital age. Electronic publication is one of the important medias with the traditional media for hybrid library. This paper trys to introduce the acquisition policy on electronic publication by legal deposit, purchase, and other ways at the National Library of Korea with the trends of current electronic pulications domestically and internationally.ationally.

This study examines current state of digital reference service on the homepage of university library in Korea. Among 236 university libraries. only $36.9\%$ (87) provide digital reference services. Digital reference services was weak as face-to-face reference services in Korea. Based on the research finding, revealed current state and related problems, and a few suggestions are provided for digital reference service system.

정보기술은 정보의 생산 및 유통방식에 커다란 변화를 가져왔으며 그 결과, 전통적인 대학도서관의 기본 역할이 변화된 것은 아니나 역할 이행을 위한 기능수행방법 및 영역에 커다란 혁신을 겪고 있다. 본 연구는 대학도서관의 서비스 환경을 변화시키고 있는 정보기술의 발전과정, 정보기술의 발전으로 인한 대학도서관의 변화 등에 관하여 고찰하였고, 그것을 바탕으로 대학도서관이 이러한 변화를 수용하여 대학의 핵심기구로서 그 역할을 다하고 위상을 한층 높일 수 있는 대응방안을 모색하였다.
