Implementation of Spatial Augmented Reality Using Fog Screen (포그 스크린을 이용한 공간증강현실(SAR) 구현)

  • In this paper, we review the applicability of fog screen to implement 'Spatial Augmented Reality' which displays the image on the whole space of real space or in real space by separating display equipment and user, in contrast to the traditional Augmented Reality. Through three exhibitions and one performance, we confirmed t hat the fog screen, which can be passed through, is a suitable material for implementing the Spatial Augment ed Reality. We found that the hologram production was easier than before because of fog screen. Through the questionnaire survey conducted on performers along with the exhibition, we found that only about half of people know what a fog screen is, and about 10% of the total respondents saw the fog screen. In order to investigate the effect of fog screen on the surrounding space, we conducted an experiment to observe the change of humidity according to the time and distance in the Children's Culture Center of the Asian Culture Center. We found that the humidity within a radius of 5m around the fog screen could increase by 2~3%($6,400m^3$ standard). Thus we provided some safety requirement with fog screen when works made of materials vulnerable to moisture such as paint, paper, and wood are exhibited at the same time with fog screen in the exhibition hall.

  • Taking a look at recent trends of port cities, many port cities in the world have been shedding new light on the function being kept by existing port spaces, caused by changes of industrial structure according to the stream of the times, developments of surrounding areas, and etc., and we can see that its meaning also has been changing. However, in case of domestic port spaces they are in the real situation not responding to those movements quickly. Therefore, unlike the existing zoning system dividing functionally urban spaces according to use simply, in this study FBCs getting the timelight recently as a system capable of reflecting spatial characteristics at the maximum have been utilized as a measure for solving current problems of urban spaces. The purpose of this study is to propose the direction of urban planning approach that harmonizes the whole harbor space by strengthening the interlinkage between heterogeneous spaces of port area and port area using FBCs. FBCs are institutional devices that are proposed and implemented in the United States to reflect the unique characteristics of the space, that is, the location and the uniqueness, and the pedestrian-oriented space planning.

Interrelationship Study about Pilotis space utilization in high-rise apartment complex and indicator values related with Space Syntax circulation -Focusing on Hwaseong Dongtan Newtown Area Apartment- (고층아파트단지 필로티 공간의 이용도와 공간구문론 동선관련 지표값과의 상관성 연구 -화성동탄신도시아파트를 중심으로-)

  • Purpose of this study is to examine and investigate the utilization of low-rise floor Pilotis space which is frequently selected as a major planning element in recent high-rise apartment complex and to identify the interrelationship between the placement of Pilotis space in the complex and space utilization frequency by comparing circulation related indicators of Connectivity, Control Value, Global Integration and Local Integration through Space Syntax axial analysis. Conclusions of this study are, first, Pilotis space is not used as a space to improve regional community consciousness because it is mostly used as a 'simple movement space'. Second, regarding space utilization frequency differences in Pilotis space in each apartment building, projecting entry access+pilotis addition type complex shows more significant utilization frequency than pilotis access type complex, and the vandalism phenomenon is observed more often. Third, Pilotis space utilization is related with Connectivity, Control Value, Global Integration and Local Integration which are circulation related indicators in Space Syntax, and Pilotis spaces with high indicator values over 2 tend to show higher utilization frequency and those with low indicator values over 2 tend to show low utilization frequency.

  • 지리정보시스템(Geographic Information System, GIS)에서 지도 수정 작업은 대화식으로 이루어지는 긴 트랜잭션이다. 도로 객체와 같은 큰 공간 도형을 수정하는 경우 한 작업자의 변경을 위한 잠금이 다른 작업자가 동일한 객체의 지리적으로 떨어져 있는 기타 부분에 대만 변경을 못하게 하는 문제가 존재한다. 예를 들면, 38번 국도를 수정하려고 할 때 하나의 큰 라인 객체 전체가 잠금 대상이 되어서 다른 지역의 33번 국도를 동시에 수정하지 못하는 문제가 있다 본 논문에서는 크기가 큰 공간 객체를 동시에 수정하는 것을 허용하기 위하여 하나의 BLOB 데이터로 저장된 공간 데이터를 동시에 수정할 수 있는 부분 잠금 기법을 제안한다 즉 하나의 공간 객체를 여러 명이 동시에 수정하기 위하여 공간 도형에 대한 메타 데이터를 유지하고 이를 기반으로 한 잠금 정보를 표현함으로써 긴 트랜젝션에서의 동시성 제어를 실현하는 이점을 제공한다.

  • 고비용의 공간 연산을 수행해야 하는 공간 질의 처리는 여과-정제의 2단계 처리가 일반적이다. 그러나, 2단계 색인 방법은 여과율이 좋지 못한 단점이 있으므로, 최근 다단계 여과 과정이 많이 연구되고 있다. 다단계 여과 과정은 1차 여과된 객체에 대하여 더욱 정밀한 필터를 적용함으로써 후부 객체 수를 줄이는 방법으로 접근하고 있으나, 여러 번의 여과 단계를 거치므로 수행 시간이 길어지고 추가 정보유지로 인한 저장 공간 낭비 등의 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 전체 공간 영역을 격자로 분할하고, 객체를 격자 위에 구성하는 2단계의 공간 색인 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 색인 방법은 Dead Space의 크기를 줄이고, 한 번의 여과 과정으로 높은 여과율을 갖는다.

  • 이 논문은 메모리 재사용 알고리즘 중 하나인 복사 알고리즘의 공간 오버헤드를 완화시키기 위한 방법을 기술한다. 복사 알고리즘은 연속적인 메모리 공간을 확보하는 전통적인 메모리 재사용 알고리즘으로, 노드 크기가 일정하지 않은 추상 기계의 구현에 널리 사용되는 알고리즘이다. 그러나, 복사 알고리즘은 전체 힙 공간의 반을 복사 프로세스를 위해서 남겨두어야 하기 때문에 공간 오버헤드는 100%에 달한다. 이 논문에서는 공간 오버헤드를 완화시키는 기본 아이디어를 제시하고, 이 기본 아이디어에서 힙 경계 부분을 처리하기 위한 세 가지 방법을 제안한다.

  • 기존에 개발한 삼각형 닮음 조건 기반 영상 간 유사 공간 계산 알고리즘은 근접 거리에 과도하게 많은 특징점이 추출되면 정확도가 낮아지는 점, 계산 과정에서의 Threshold를 주관적으로 설정해 주어야 해 정확한 Threshold를 찾기 위하여 전체 알고리즘을 여러번 반복하여 실행시켜야 하는 점에서 비효율적인 측면이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 기존의 삼각형 닮음 조건 기반 영상 간 유사 공간 계산 알고리즘에 근접 거리 내의 특징점을 제거하는 알고리즘과 서로 다른 Threshold를 가진 유사 공간 계산 알고리즘들을 병렬적으로 계산해 한 번의 알고리즘 실행만으로 자동적으로 적절한 Threshold를 찾을 수 있도록 하는 모듈을 추가하여 기존의 알고리즘과 비교하여 더 효율적으로 영상 간 유사 공간을 계산해낼 수 있도록 개선된 삼각형 닮음 조건 기반 영상 간 유사 공간 계산 알고리즘을 제안한다.

A Study on the Distribution of Scatter Ray in Chest Radiography of a Health Examination Bus (건강검진 차량 내 흉부 방사선검사 시 공간산란선 분포 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the distribution of spatial scatter ray on the chest radiographs of patients on health examination bus. In this paper, we propose a method for minimize unnecessary exposure by measuring the scattered dose after exposure the actual subject and comparing the body mass index (BMI) with the tube current amount mAs. The results of this study showed that the mean BMI of the subjects was $23.31{\pm}3.12$. The mean mAs value was $2.92{\pm}1.19$, which males was higher than females. The mean value of the scatter ray at position 1 in the radiography room was $771.81{\pm}151.15{\mu}Sv/hr$. The mean value of the scatter rays at the position 2 outside the entrance of the radiography room was measured as $53.86{\pm}25.66{\mu}Sv/hr$. As the BMI and mAs was increase the spatial scatter dose was increased at position 1 and position 2 in the photographing room. In order to minimize the exposure dose of scatter ray, radiation workers should shoot the radiation as low as possible within the range that does not impair the quality of the image. It will be necessary to make efforts to not wait for a waiting person near the entrance door of the photographing room.

A heuristic path planning method for robot working in an indoor environment (실내에서 작업하는 로봇의 휴리스틱 작업경로계획)

  • A heuristic search algorithm is proposed to plan a collision free path for robots in an indoor environment. The proposed algorithm is to find a collision free path in the gridded configuration space by proposed heuristic graph search algorithm. The proposed algorithm largely consists of two parts : tunnel searching and path searching in the tunnel. The tunnel searching algorithm finds a thicker path from start grid to goal grid in grid configuration space. The tunnel is constructed with large grid defined as a connected several minimum size grids in grid-based configuration space. The path searching algorithm then searches a path in the tunnel with minimum grids. The computational time of the proposed algorithm is less than the other graph search algorithm and we analysis the time complexity. To show the validity of the proposed algorithm, some numerical examples are illustrated for robot.

Analysis of the Proteins Accumulated During Cold Treatment in Intermolecular Space of Barley (저온에서 세포밖 공간에 축적되는 보리 단백질)

  • In order to identify an antifreeze proteins responsible for freeze-tolerance in barley the proteins accumulated in extracellular space during cold acclimination were extracted and analyzed. After 42 days cold treatment there were several proteins sized of 70, 21, 16, 14 KDa increased in their amount accumulated in extracellular space. In addition, continuously sized polypeptides smaller than 10 KDa were found to be increased in their amount as cold treatment prolongs. Since these proteins were not detectable in total leaf protein extract it appears that the procedure used to isolate extracellular extract was valid. A similarity in profile of the extracellular proteins isolated from barley and rye may indicate a possibility for these proteins to be an antifreeze proteins since the same extract from rye was reported to show an antifreezing activity.
