Till now, applications of many kinds of satellite images have been accentuated in the datacentric scientific studies, researches regarding system development and concerned technologies for them are on the un-matured stage. Especially, satellite image processing requires large volume data handling and specific analysis functionalities, so that practical necessity of base study for system development is emphasized on. In the view of information system, various edged trends such as web standards, cloud computing, or web framework are utilized owing to their application benefits proven and business needs. Considered these aspects, a testing implementation was carried out using OpenStack cloud computing environment and e-government framework. As for the processing functions, WPS in GeoServer, as one of OGC web standards, was applied to perform interoperable data processing scheme between two or more remote servers. Working with the server implemented, client-side was also developed using several open sources such as HTML 5, jQuery, and OpenLayers. If it is that completed further experiments onsite applications with actual multi-data sets and extension of on-demand functionalities with the result of this study, it will be referred as an example case model for complicated and complex system design and implementation which needs cloud computing, geo-spatial web standards and web framework.
Surface reflectance, as a product of the absolute atmospheric correction process of low-orbit satellite imagery, is the basic data required for accurate vegetation analysis. The Commission on Earth Observation Satellite (CEOS) has conducted research and guidance to produce analysis-ready data (ARD) on surface reflectance products for immediate use by users. However, this trend is still in the early stages of research dealing with ARD for high-resolution multispectral images such as KOMPSAT-3A and CAS-500, as it targets medium- to low-resolution satellite images. This study first summarizes the types of distribution of ARD data according to existing cases. The link between Open Data Cube (ODC), the cloud-based satellite image application platforms, and ARD data was also explained. As a result, we present practical ARD deployment steps for high-resolution satellite images and several types of application models in the conceptual level for high-resolution satellite images deployed in ODC and cloud environments. In addition, data pricing policies, accuracy quality issue, platform applicability, cloud environment issues, and international cooperation regarding the proposed implementation and application model were discussed. International organizations related to Earth observation satellites, such as Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), are continuing to develop system technologies and standards for the spread of ARD and ODC, and these achievements are expanding to the private sector. Therefore, a satellite-holder country looking for worldwide markets for satellite images must develop a strategy to respond to this international trend.
Purpose: In this study, the location and history information of the cavity identified in the cavity exploration, such as repacking of the pavement, is not known. Therefore, it is to review the field applicability of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) systems that enable anyone to accurately identify information. Method: Basic experiments were conducted for field applicability for cavity recognition distance, recognition and recognition rate, tag performance and tag type, reader interference, communication, underground burial impact, and duplicate recognition by RFID system. Results: As a result of the depth of tag and reader recognition, the electronic tag chips and readers applied in the basic experiment are judged to be effectively applicable in the field environment where the road cavity is located. Conclusion: The RFID tags for field application of the pavement management system store various information such as location and size of cavity, identification date, cause of occurrence, and surrounding underground facilities to maximize cavity management effect with a system that can be computerized and mobile utilization.
The first Japanese pilot-scale $CO_2$ sequestration project has been undertaken in an onshore saline aquifer, near Nagaoka in Niigata prefecture, and time-lapse well logs were carried out in observation wells to detect the arrival of injected $CO_2$ and to evaluate $CO_2$ saturation in the reservoir. $CO_2$ was injected into a thin permeable zone at the depth of 1110m at a rate of 20-40 tonnes per day. The total amount of injected $CO_2$ was 10400 tonnes, during the injection period from July 2003 to January 2005. The pilot-scale demonstration allowed an improved understanding of the $CO_2$ movement in a porous sandstone reservoir, by conducting time-lapse geophysical well logs at three observation wells. Comparison between neutron well logging before and after the insertion of fibreglass casing in observation well OB-2 showed good agreement within the target formation, and the higher concentration of shale volume in the reservoir results in a bigger difference between the two well logging results. $CO_2$ breakthrough was identified by induction, sonic, and neutron logs. By sonic logging, we confirmed P-wave velocity reduction that agreed fairly well with a laboratory measurement on drilled core samples from the Nagaoka site. We successfully matched the history changes of sonic P-wave velocity and estimated $CO_2$ saturation a(ter breakthrough in two observation wells out of three. The sonic-velocity history matching result suggested that the sweep efficiency was about 40%. Small effects of $CO_2$ saturation on resistivity resulted in small changes in induction logs when the reservoir was partially saturated. We also found that $CO_2$ saturation in the $CO_2$-bearing zone responded to suspension of $CO_2$ injection.
This paper uses a data mining approach to develop bankruptcy prediction models suitable for traditional (off-line) companies and electronic (on-line) companies. It observes the differences in the composition prediction models between these two types of companies and provides interpretation of bankruptcy classifications. The bankruptcy prediction models revealed the major variables in predicting bankruptcy to be 'cash flow to total assets' and 'gross value-added to net sales' for traditional off-line companies while 'cash flow to liabilities','gross value-added to net sales', and 'current ratio' for electronic companies. The accuracy rates of final prediction models for traditional off-line and electronic companies were found to be $84.7\%\;and\;82.4\%$, respectively. When the model for traditional off-line companies was applied for electronic companies, prediction accuracy dropped significantly in the case of bankruptcy classification (from $70.4\%\;to\;45.2\%$) at the level of a blind guess ($41.30\%$). Therefore, the need for different models for traditional off-line and electronic companies is justified.

It is very important to understand the electromagnetic characteristics of underground media in GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) survey. Depending on the electrical characteristics of the underground medium, the energy of the electromagnetic wave becomes relatively small, and reflection from the interface may become difficult. In this study, electrical characteristics of sandy soils under various (loose and dense) conditions were analyzed. As a result, In dry sand is the dielectric constant increased as the relative density increased, and the dielectric constant and electrical conductivity increased as the moisture content of the sand increased.

Inverse problem is very interest in the sciences and engineering, in particular for modeling and monitoring applications. By applying inverse problem, it can be widely used to exploration of mineral resources, identification of underground cables and buried pipelines, and diagnostic imaging in medical area. In this paper, we firstly consider 2-dimensional EM scattering problem and present the FDTD method to estimate unknown source. In this case, non-linear CGM technique is used to investigate unknown sources corresponding to measured data obtained from forward problem in near field. The proposed technique for solving the inverse source problem presents a reasonable agreement and can be applied to investigate an internal source signal of embedded security module.
In order to measure steel corrosion in mortar by a transient electro-magnetic (TEM) Method, the development of the sensors have been studied. The sensors were made of enamelled wire with diameter of 0.25mm and Acril. The sensor configuration was used as a coincident loop type. The secondary electro motive force(EMF) was measured with SIROTEM III. The accelerator was equipped with the SIROTEM III. The accelerator permits the transmitter to turn off approximately 10~15 times faster than normal. The high resolution time series used for very shallow or high resistivity investigation was selected. The steels were embedded in mortar which were made from sand : cement : water ratio of 2 : 1: 0.5. The mortar specimen was 50cm long, 20cm wide and 10cm thick. To investigate steel corrosion in mortar, the sensors used were with 2$\times$2$cm^2$(3, 6, 9$\Omega$), 3$\times$3$cm^2$(3, 6, 9$\Omega$) and 6$\times$6$cm^2$(3, 6, 9$\Omega$). The obtained result obtained showed that the sensor 8(6$\times$6$cm^2$, 6$\Omega$) was the proper sensor for the measurement of steel corrosion in mortar.

Space Environment including Solar activities such as Solar explosion, Corona Mass Ejection(CMS) is always not friendly for human. Especially it may be fatal to artificial satellites. The lifetime of geostationary communication satellites are reducing due to plasma such as electrons, protons etc. emitting from Sun. This is because the active components constituting communication satellite are easily affected by plasma. Even though the radiation shielding on the components can be a way to prevent, the cost will be high. So the appropriate shielding is necessary and the study on space environment is also. In this study spacecraft anomalies will be investigated from low earth orbit to deep space spacecraft and the correlation between spacecraft anomalies and space environment events including space explosion, geomagnetic storms etc is analyzed.
Optical fiber sensors have shown a potential to serve real time health monitoring of the structures. They can be easily embedded or attached to the structures and are not affected by the electro-magnetic field. Furthermore, they have the flexibility of the sensor size and very highly sensitive. In this study, we conducted several laboratory and field tests using a novel optical sensor based on Brillouin scattering. One of the advantages of this technique is that the bare fiber itself acts as sensing element without
any special fiber processing or preparation. Test results have shown that BOTDR can be a great solution for sensor systems of Civil Engineering Smart Structures.
