  • Voltage dips caused by transmission system faults are usually of a short duration. High speed relaying and breaker operation will typically limit the disturbance to 0.1 seconds. Most motor controllers obtain their control power directly from the bus by means of a control transformer. Under this condition, a voltage dip can cause the contactor to drop out. disconnecting the motor from the line. The rapid re-energizing of the controller is in effect a fast reclosure which may result in motor damage. The time delay re-energizing of controller will result in a greater loss of speed and possibly loss of stability. Other means of controller can be used to prevent the motor from being disconnected from line during the fault. This can be accomplished by DC power controller or mechanically latched controller. This paper demonstrates that DC power controller or mechanically latched type controller to prevent the motor from being disconnected from line during the fault is, the most effective in minimizing speed reduction, transient motor current, transient motor torque and transient shaft torque by EMTP calculation.

  • The operation speed improvement of the train in electric railway must pursue continuously and need the investigation of whole railway system whole. The high-speed of the train is related to not only vehicle technique but also the infrastructure, signal system, operation technique, the trolley line and catenary, economical efficiency. Specially, in case of electric railway, we have to consider a technical investigation which is current collection efficiency improvement, voltage drop countermeasure, equipment capacity, track force, signal system. In this paper, we presents the technical investigation of AT feeder system in order to achieve high speed train in exist real railroad. We proved this approach which will use the whole domestic lines in the future.

  • Since they use the low switching frequency in multilevel inverter systems, they generate the high low frequency harmonic components. Generally, LC filter is used at the output terminal of inverter systems to solve this problem. But it causes a voltage drop at the output terminal by use of damping resistors, and causes the problem in which system efficiency decreases due to power loss of the damping resistor. In this paper, we proposed an output filter design method for NPC three-level inverter systems with low switching frequency. And we analyzed the efficiency of the proposed filter system, and the effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by simulation and experimental results.

Analysis on Current Limiting and Voltage Sag Compensating Characteristics of a SFCL using Magnetic Coupling of Parallel Connected Two Coils (병렬연결된 두 코일의 자기결합을 이용한 초전도 전류제한기의 전류제한 및 전압강하 보상 특성 분석)

  • The superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) plays a role in compensating the voltage sag of the sound feeder adjacent to the fault feeder as well as the fault current limiting operation of the fault feeder. Especially, the SFCL using magnetic coupling of two coils with parallel connection has different voltage sag compensating and current limiting characteristics due to the winding direction and the inductance ratio of two coils. In this paper, the current limiting and the voltage sag compensating characteristics of a SFCL using magnetic coupling of parallel connected two coils were analyzed. Through the analysis on the experimental results considering the winding direction of two coils, the SFCL designed with the additive polarity winding was shown to have the higher limited fault current than the SFCL designed with the subtractive polarity winding. In addition, it could be confirmed that the higher fault current limitation of the SFCL could be contributed to the higher load voltage sag compensation.

  • This paper analyze the bus voltage sags in the power distribution system with a small scale cogeneration system when the superconducting fault current limiter was introduced. Among the solutions to decrease the short-circuit current considering the locations of the small scale cogeneration system, the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been announced as one of the promising methods to reduce the fault current because the installation of the small scale cogeneration system which increases the short-circuit current. According to the application locations of the small scale cogeneration system in a power distribution system, it has caused the variations of voltage sag and duration which depends on the change of the short-circuit current, which can make the operation of the protective device deviate from its original set value when the fault occurs. To investigate the voltage sag when a SFCL was applied into a power distribution system where the small scale cogeneration system was introduced into various locations, the SFCL, small scale cogeneration system, and power system are modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC. In this paper, the effects on voltage sags are assessed when the SFCL is installed in power distribution system with various locations of the small scale cogeneration system.

  • AC-based power systems, having the advantages that voltage transformation and long distance transmission are easy, have been constructed since the last 19th century. However, DC-based power system is paid attention these days because of the development of power electronic devices as well as the increase of digital loads and distributed generation. For instance, the transmission systems using High Voltage DC (HVDC) are commercially operated in the world and the researches on distribution system using Low Voltage DC (LVDC) are gradually increased. This paper analyzes voltage sag, resulted from faults, in LVDC distribution system according to the number of poles. Modeling and simulation with various conditions are conducted by using ElectroMagnetic Transients Program (EMTP). Moreover, some countermeasures to reduce voltage sag in LVDC distribution system are suggested briefly.

OLED의 양극으로써 ITO/Ag/ITO와 ITO/Ag/ITO/Ag/ITO 다층박막의 전기적.광학적 특성에 관한 연구

  • 투명전극 물질인 ITO는 가시광선 영역에서 높은 투과율과 낮은 전기저항을 나타내어 OLED, PDP, LCD등 다양한 분야에서 널리 사용되는 물질이다. 하지만 차세대 조명으로 개발이 확대되고 있는 OLED 조명 등 더 많은 분야에 적용하기 위해서는 많은 개선점이 필요하다. 특히 픽셀 구조가 아닌 OLED 조명의 경우 ITO의 저항에 의해 전압 강하가 발생하여 휘도 불균일, 발열 등의 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 이 때문에 보다 우수한 전기적인 특성과 높은 투과율을 갖는 투명전극이 필요하다. 현재 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 ITO 박막 내부에 얇은 금속 층을 삽입하여 다층 박막으로 증착하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 투명 전극인 ITO 대신 ITO 중간에 Ag를 삽입한 3층 박막인 ITO/Ag/ITO와 5층 박막인 ITO/Ag/ITO/Ag/ITO를 투명 전극으로 대체하였을 때 수반되는 전기적, 광학적 특성을 알아보고자 한다. 또한 열처리 조건을 다르게 하여 열처리에 따른 다층 박막의 특성 변화도 비교해보았다. In-line 형태의 RF-DC sputter를 이용하여 다층박막을 증착시킨 후 Oven과 Vacuum Oven에 열처리를 하여 특성을 알아보았다. 전기적 특성을 알아보기 위해 4-point probe를 이용하여 비저항을 측정하였고, UV-VLS spectrometer를 이용하여 투과율을 측정하였다. 또한, Atomic force microscopy(AFM)을 이용하여 표면 형상을 측정하였다.

  • Body fat correlation formula induced by using optical method was used white light LED source and electrical method used BIA(Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis) method measured at same time. In the case of BIA method confirmed phase difference of 6 degree and voltage drop of 2.7V at 5V and 50kHz's input signal. In the case of optical method confirmed that optical intensity increased by order of the biceps, the fleshy inside of the thigh and the triceps. We obtained percent body fat of 20% with the body fat correlation formula induced by photo-electricity method.

  • This paper proposes a parallel control method of a modular DC/DC converter for electric vehicle (EV) chargers. The EV chargers have been increasing the power capacity using modular converters. There are output current imbalances between the modules, which are caused by the difference of the impedance, delay of the gate driver, and error of the sensors. The conventional strategies for the equal distribution of the output current cause the voltage drop or the high volume and cost of the converters. Therefore, the proposed parallel control strategy effectively balances the output current of modules using a current compensation method. The proposed strategy is verified by simulations. Additional experimental results will be added under various conditions.

Development of Endurance Estimation Method for Multicopters Using Propeller Database (프로펠러 성능 시험 데이터베이스를 활용한 멀티콥터 체공시간 예측방법 개발)

  • The application of multicopters using a battery is limited by the short endurance due to the low energy density. A propeller is one of crucial components that determine the performance of the multicopter. In the present study, a systematic method for predicting the endurance of multicopters is described. Propeller performance database are constructed using the data from UIUC Propeller Data Site. Using the 'trendline' function of MS Excel software, the performance of the commercial propellers are represented as a function of polynomials. The multicopter's endurance is computed iteratively using Peukert's Law and considering the voltage drop effect. We evaluated the endurance of multicopters that use commercial propellers. The endurance of the multicopter was within the range of 28 min. to 36 min. It is expected that the present method can be utilized for optimal propeller selection for the given multicopters.
