Visitors' behaviors within an exhibition space are a substantial means to grant spatial arrangement and validity of exhibits. Therefore, the study analyzed visitors' behaviors in the viewpoint of attraction power and holding power of exhibits on the basis of exhibition layout of real science museums. Through the analysis, the study grasped efficiency of analysis index and exhibition environment elements which might have an effect on planning the exhibition space of a large-scale museum and producing detailed ranges of exhibition. The main indicators used are: 1. Attraction power: it indicates the relative incidence of people who have stopped in front of an object/exhibit during the exhibition tour. It is calculated by dividing the number of people who stop by the total number of people who have visited the museum or gallery. 2. Holding power: it measures the average time spent in front of an information/communication element. It is calculated by dividing the average time of stay by the time "necessary" to read an element. As a result, It was expected that attraction power and holding power of exhibit would be increased when moving line of seeing was inductive. However, when the traffic movements of seeing was inductive, repetitive seeing of exhibit was almost never realized and visitors had a strong tendency which viewed on their way of moving without viewing on their way of stopping. On the other hand, it may mean that density of exhibit is low or size of exhibition space is small that most of exhibits within exhibition space have high attraction power and holding power. As Gwacheon National Science Museum, when a museum is composed of many large-scale exhibit halls, it should be formed by separating the main moving line of seeing from the optional moving line of seeing through visitors' natural choice of exhibit and proper inducement of moving line of seeing. In such structure, exhibition environment of the main moving line has an effect on attraction of exhibit and the use of optional moving line acts as a factor to increase attraction. In addition, it is thought that attribute of exhibit and proper arrangement of rest space within exhibition space will increase holding power of exhibit.
This study analyzed visitors' behaviors in the viewpoint of Attraction Power and Holding Power of exhibits on the basis of exhibition layout of real science museums. As a result of analyzing the exhibition areas of National Science Museum (Daejeon) and National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation(Tokyo), the Holding Power was found to be relatively lower than the Attracting Power. This means that 3.5 out of 10 visitors stop in front of the exhibit in 6 exhibition areas, and among these, only 1/10 is used when compared to the user required time of the exhibits. In other words, like the method of deriving an analysis index, the stage of viewing can be categorized as Attracting Power and Holding Power, and because the stage from Attracting Power to the stage of Holding Power are strongly linked, it shows that it is not easy to display a meaningful result. Except, the general distribution of Attracting Power was shown to be high from the entrance area of the exhibition hall based on the standard of viewing sequence. Also, the Holding Power became sequentially lower according to the sequence of exhibition viewing and displayed a meaningful interrelationship with the distribution ratio of island exhibits. In the case of island exhibition method, it is less influenced by the movement flow of visitors when compared to the wall type method of exhibition and can be understood as an exhibition method that provides spatial chances enabling stopping and viewing.
Modern museums introduce a so-called method of 'exhibitions that approach' apart from the scheme of exhibitions in a simple listing type, creating a series of stories based on the original forms of remains put on display, adopting various methods of media access, and enabling the spectators of the museums to find exhibits a little more convincing and understand them more in depth, which might look somewhat isolated from their everyday lives. The configuration of the exhibitions that approach can easily be found in the mode of narrative development of exhibition topics and scenarios, and in this sense, a study on the narrativity of exhibitions is effective for analyzing the exhibition spaces of the museums. Furthermore, an analysis on exhibition spaces may be conducted through the process of forming the messages of exhibition contents and interpreting the narrative structures of the modes of development, and allows people to think that the methods of interpreting the spaces established like this may form an organic complementary relationship with exhibition contents and have a more extended meaning. Thus, this study examines the narrativity of Jeon-gok prehistory museum and the narrative structure systems based on the structuralist narrative theory, approaches the modes of narrative development of the spaces based on semiotic judgment, and aims to understand the structures of the space narrative. In addition, It is another object of the present invention in order to verify the objectivity, throughout the course of additional case studies, to improve the efficiency of future exhibition design.
The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the function and scale on aspect of construction planning with examples of exhibition and convention facilities constructed recently in domestic and foreign area. Also, it was to provide the result for basic data for construction planning and architecture of similar facilities constructed later. The study methodles, but they had characteristics to use the space with compound purpose for exhibition, conference, etc through installing multi-purpose hall. Finally, for effective construction planning of exhibition and convention facilities, it was required to decrease the ratio of common area gradually and derive rationalization of whole space composition by deriving complexity of function rather than planning of single purpose of each facility for exhibition and conference function. was to analyze the characteristics of construction planning for composition and scale of exhibition, conference, public use, support, maintenance functions, etc and placement composition of unit rooms by each floor on the basis of internal area of exhibition and convention facility in Korea and Japan. As the result of analyzing 10 examples(K1~J5), the placement of auditorium and multi-purpose hall was affected according to location of exhibition room and conference room in the composition of unit rooms by each floor and the installment ratio of support facility in Korean examples was higher than in Japanese examples. In case of facility scale, the Japanese examples were overall small in the whole scale relatively to Korean examp.
Since the 1990s, the role of the government has been shifting towards governance. This new governance emphasizes government's role in establishing a cooperative system with private organizations through network structure and interaction. In the 1990s, Korean Government support for artists and exhibitions increased unprecedentedly. In the 2000s, support for the arts shifted in ways so as to integrate genres. Simultaneously, in order to strengthen the creative capacities of artists, support for new artists, multi-art and fusion arts have increased. From 2010, 'visual arts' business support was provided. In addition, 'visual arts' was supported by a joint planning project from 2013 Also, an overseas residence program has actively supported exhibitions through international exchanges. Since 2005, it has expanded to cooperation with India, Iran and Asian countries as well as with the Betani Studio in Germany. In addition local government supported for artists and the Biennale, residences, regional cooperative business through the local cultural foundation.
The purpose of this study is to make a comparative analyzation toward abstracted emotional properties appeared in the museum exhibition spaces designed by the three masters of the modern architecture;Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. In addition, this study will also aim to inquire into how the emotional properties have affected the third generation architects. It is especially expected that the 'emotional tendency' emerging in various fields of the present time can serve as useful information through the analysis of emotional design properties appeared in the exhibition space which is directly linked with the human lives. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, in New York by Wright, in Tokyo by Le Corbusier and in Berlin by Mies Van der Rohe were selected. As for the analyzation methodology to be adopted for deriving the aiming points at the emotional design, five criteria of analyzation have been established in order to understand the properties of the emotional area: they are (1) spatial affordance, (2) human congeniality, (3) emotional factors of the area, (4) constitution of the area and (5) expressive division of the area. Using these criteria, this study will reveal what are some of the emotional characteristics shown in each museums and its analytical result will be useful to apply to future museum design. It is especially expected that the 'emotional tendency' emerging in various fields of the present time can serve as useful information through the analysis of emotional design properties appeared in the exhibition space of design which is directly linked with the human behavior.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the means by which designers communicate their philosophies and messages through fashion exhibitions, which are one of the communication methods that use visual images, by focusing on the aesthetics of fashion exhibition design. For this study, previous studies related to design exhibitions were analyzed, in addition to the related theoretical background, by examining the existing literature and conducting an illustrative study on fashion exhibitions. Our illustrative study focused on the aesthetic meanings of exhibitions held by the fashion brand Maison Martin Margiela over the past 10 years. According to our analyses, the fashion philosophy of fashion designer Martin Margiela's was reflected by Maison Martin Margiela in the exhibition design. After studying the features of Maison Martin Margiela's exhibition design, the inner values of deconstructivism and mysticism and appearance techniques of trompe-l'oeil, white spirit and assemblage were observed. This study aims to supply basic data for an active research on consilience and communication conducted in fashion communication field through a fashion exhibition designed to be seen as a work, an objet of the exhibition. In-depth studies on the cultural and aesthetical aspects of fashion exhibitions should be carried out, not only based on the sense of sight but also the senses of touch and hearing. Next, theories should be established on fashion scenography, to consider the use of the space design of fashion shows, presentations and advertising and movies to communicate fashion.

Our time is called as the era of information-oriented society and up-to-date scientific technology, but it can be also called as the era of image. It is because the image has much influence upon our everyday life. In the deluge of images, the delivery of image Is a better and faster synergic tool than the delivery of language, and this trend is consistent with the phases of the times in which the analog modality of synergy is converted into the digital one. The image is a picture that is formed by a physical process, and is all the figures reflected by electronic equipments that reproduce the image. After the discovery of photograph in 1893, the image has been appeared first with the form of movie, and then with the form of TV. However, the appearance of such unidirectional synergic tools as movies and TV. has provided artists with some creative motives with which they intercommunicate their messages via some experimental bidirectional synergic tools. Among image-media arts, the performance of installation and participation is an important example that causes many changes through conceptional conversion, such as the conception of the time in space and formative characteristics. What satisfy this trend have been videos, lasers, holographic, and etc. Furthermore, the appearance of computer has provided a synesthesia, that is, a virtual reality, and mixed a real image with a visional one. The image-media art will realize better synergy through combining brand new machines, informational technology, and art, and have much influence upon our everyday life formatively and artistically in the future. with this study, through analyzing the meaning of relationship between image equipments and space.
There are a method to analyze reactions or psychological condition and a method to observe visitor's behavioral reaction as methods to measure and evaluate humans' recognition behavior reaction of humans. The measure of the eye movement as a method to living body's reaction and psychological condition has an advantage to measure the information acceptance reaction of view recognition of the stimulus of view composition factors which has been used since a long time ago in other research areas, but almost not studies have been made on the exhibition views in museums. Therefore, on the premise of such recognition, this study aimed at obtaining various types of information through vision angles of visitor in exhibition space of an museum and judging space information, at measuring the condition of information acceptance through attention experiments and observation investigation of and finding out the disposition and characteristics so as to verify the relationship between the exhibition space and exhibition Method.
For the spatial experience of spectators visiting a museum, the route search of trying to follow the spatial structure or production of exhibition and the information search of trying to see are accomplished at the same time. In such process, the spectator's reaction of visual perception produces the result of emotional reaction and action exchanged between human and space by going through the recognition and perception on the target of environment factor. For the spatial experience of a spectator, the reaction of visual perception which interacts according to the exhibit and exhibition environment within space according to viewing purpose, interest and concern of spectator comes out as visual activity which is an activity to understand the spatial information shown as various activities according to spatial structure and unfolding characteristics of the display. The purpose of this study is to identify The Correlation of Spectator Movement Created According to Structural Form of Exhibition Area Based on Interaction between Exhibition Area Structure and Spectator to utilize as basic material while designing museum exhibition using isovist field which is a quantitative analysis tool of spectator's visual behavior and spatial structure at each exhibition area.
