An equalization technique for OFDM systems in tine variant fading environment is described. Time variant channels lead to interchannel interference which increases the bit mr rate. A frequency domain equalizer using pilot symbols is proposed. The equalizer decreases the interchannel interference affecting the error performance. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is analyzed via computer simulation.

In this paper, we introduce a Hadamard matrix interstream transmission based blind channel estimation for multi-cells multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) networks. The proposed scheme is based on a network with mobile stations (MS) which are deployed with multi cells. We assume that the MS have the signals from both cells. The signal from near cell are considered as desired signal and the signals from the other cells are interference signal. Since the channel is blind, so that we transmit Hadamard matrix pattern pilot stream to estimate the channel; that gives easier and fast channel estimation for large scale MIMO channel. The computation of Hadamard based system takes only complex additions, and thus the complexity of which is much lower than the scheme with Fourier transform since complex multiplications are not needed. The numerical analysis will give perfection of proposed channel estimation.

In the recent year, along with the rapid development of LED technology, many applications using LEDs have been researched and indoor positioning is one of them. In particular, previous indoor positioning systems based on visible light communication combine triangulation manner such as AoA, ToA TDoA. But most of them needs transmitting unique ID of each LED panel. In this paper, we propose an non LED-ID based indoor positioning system in which the visible light radiated from LEDs is used to locate the position of receiver. Compared to current indoor positioning systems using LED light, our system has the advantages of simple implementation, low cost and high accuracy. Through the computer simulation, our system can achieve a high estimation accuracy of 3.6cm in average in the $5{\times}5{\times}3m^3$ room.

In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with interference-aware power control (IAPC) to maximize signal to generating interference plus noise ratio (SGINR) in uplink multi-cell networks. Assuming that the channel reciprocity time-division duplexing (TDD) system is used, the channel state information (CSI) can be obtained at each user from pilot signals from other BSs. In the proposed scheduling, to be specific, each user reduces the transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Each BS selects the user with the largest SGINR among users. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms. It is worth noting that the proposed technique operates with distributed manner without information exchange among cells. Hence, it can be easily applied to the practical wireless systems like 3GPP LTE without significant modifications of the specification.

In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of generating interference to other base stations (BSs) in multi-cell multi-input multi-output (MIMO) networks. Assuming that the time-division duplexing (TDD) system is used, the interference channel from users to other cell BSs is obtained at each user. In the proposed scheduling, each user first generates a transmit beamforming vector by using singular value decompositon (SVD) over MIMO channels and reduces the transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Each BS selects the user with the largest effective channel gains among users, which reflects the adjusted power of users. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.

In OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system, sampling frequency offset causes performance degradation due to increase of ICI. Sampling frequency offset can be generally estimated by correlation of the pilot signal or the known pattern within two contiguous OFDM symbol however, this method has the throughput degradation and the difficulty in applying to various OFDM systems. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for sampling frequency offset estimation which can solve aforementioned issues. The proposed algorithm uses a single OFDM symbol to prevent throughput degradation and to apply to various OFDM-based communication systems flexibly Also, the proposed algorithm can enhance reliability by observing more number of correlations compared to the established algorithm in frequency domain. Extensive computer simulation shows that the proposed algorithm can improve the system performance in various channel conditions.

In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of interference inflicted to other BSs in multi-cell uplink networks. Assuming that the channel reciprocity time-division duplexing(TDD) system is used, the channel state information (CSI) can be obtained at each user from pilot signals from other BSs. The amount of generating interference to other BSs will be calculated at each user. Especially, in this paper, we propose the threshold-based transmit power control, in which a user decrease its transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.

IEEE 802.11a is a standard for the high-speed wireless local area network (WLAN), supporting from 6 up to 54 Mbps in a 5 GHz band. We propose a channel equalization algerian and a sampling clock recovery algorithm by utilizing the Viterbi decoder output of the IEEE 802.11a WLAN standard. The proposed channel equalizer adaptively compensates channel variations. The proposed system uses re-encoded Viterbi decoder outputs as reference symbols for the adaptation of the channel equalizer. It also extracts sampling phase information with the Viterbi decoder outputs for fine adjustment of the sampling clock. The proposed sampling clock recovery and equalizer are more robust to noise and frequency selective fading environments than conventional systems using only four pilot samples.
