This Study is Compared and analyzed for the curriculum of department of Library and Information Science of Junior college. For two purpose, A Literature study was done with new knowledge in Library and Curriculum of domestic Junior College were compared and analyzed in order to derive necommendable common subjects. Therefore curriculum of department Library and Information Science of Junior College in gradually changing forseed on conventional subject.

The purpose of this study is to develop a new curriculum for the department of library and information science of junior college. For this purpose, First, a literature study was done along with interviews with assistant librarians, second, a questionnaries survey was conducted among professors, library administrators and assistant librarians, and the survey data were analyzed by SAS packages. Results obtained by this study are as follows; 1) Work scope of assistant librarians will be consisted of conventional library works and automated library works. And it is anticipated that the library will be transformed into an electronic library in the futrue. 2) Curriculum of department library and information science of junior college is gradually changing focused on conventional subjects toward automation and computer oriented subjects. 3) Curriculum of department of library and information science of junior college should be focused on the workshop oriented education and electronic library related subjects such as electronic library workshop, information system, data fare theory information system information network workshop.

This study statistically examined the factors (individual factors, family factors, high school factors, college factors, and social factors) that affect the choice of the major by surveying with students who have entered the library and information science departments of colleges in Korea. The results were as follows. First, it was confirmed that individual factors and social factors had significant effects on the choice of the library and information science major in college. Second, it was found that individual factors had a greater influence on the choice of the library and information science major than social factors do. Third, individual factors had significant positive(+) effects on the choice of the library and information science major at colleges, whereas it was verified that social factors had significant negative(-) effects on the choice of the library and information science major at colleges. The findings of this study can be used as useful basic data for library and information science departments of colleges in Korea to prepare for a decrease in the number of college entrants in the coming years.

In this study, the factors of major satisfaction(curricular satisfaction, class satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, cognitive satisfaction, and general satisfaction factors) which influence the employment preparation behaviors were identified by conducting a survey of female college students of the department of library and information science, and whether the feeling of employment efficacy had a moderating effect on the relationship between the the major satisfaction and the employment preparation behaviors were verified. The research results are as follows. First, curricular satisfaction(C.R.=3.847, p<0.001), class satisfaction(C.R.=3.244, p<0.01), relationship satisfaction(C.R.=3.045, p<0.01), and cognitive satisfaction(C.R.=2.464, p<0.05) factors turned out to have a significant positive(+) effect on the employment behaviors of female college students of the department of library and information science. Second, the moderating effect between the high group and the low group in terms of employment efficacy turned out to have a statistically significant moderating effect as the p value was less than 0.05, p = .040. The results of this study may be used as the useful basic data to not only improve the employment rate for the department of library and information science of community colleges in Korea, but also to prepare for the rapidly declining school-age population and the Institutional Accreditation.
