마이크로폴라 탄성이론은 다른 마이크로연속체(microcontinuum) 이론에 비해 적용이 간단하며, 실제 많은 물리적인 현상을 규명하는 데 다양하게 이용할 수 있다. 특히 고전 탄성이론에 의해 적절하게 해결될 수 없는 덤벨(dumbell) 분자로 이루어진 물체, 액체 결정체(liquid crystals), 과립상(granular)의 분자로 구성된 물체와 복합 섬유재료(composite fibrous materials) 등은 마 이크로폴라 탄성이론에 의해 잘 해결될 수 있다. 또한 마이크로폴라 탄성이론은 고체 내에서의 파의 전파(propagation)와 분산(dispersion), 구멍 주위의 응력집중과 외부 하중을 받는 물체에 있어 균열끝에서의 응력 분포 등의 고체역학 문제들은 물론이고, 경계층(boundary layer), 난 류(turbulence), 유체 유동의 불안정(instability)과 표면장력 현상 등의 유체역학에서의 복잡한 문제들을 해결하는 데에도 이용할 수 있다. 마이크로폴라 탄성이론은 고전 탄성이론에 비해 상 대적으로 새롭고 미개척 분야이긴 하지만 이론의 기반이 확고하기 때문에 앞으로의 회전응력 측정장치의 개발을 통해 미소구조의 영향을 고려해야 하는 많은 문제들을 해결하는데 큰 기여를 할 것으로 전망된다.

Paul Churchland(1989) suggests the theory of representation from the results of cognitive biology and connectionist AI studies. According to the theory, our representations of the diverse phenomena in the world can be represented as the positions of phase state spaces with the actions of the neurons or of the assembly of neurons. He insists connectionist AI neural networks can have the semantical category systems to recognize the world. But Fodor and Lepore(1996) don't look the perspective bright. From their points of view, the Churchland's theory of representation stands on the base of Quine's holism, and the network semantics cannot explain how the criteria of semantical content similarity could be possible, and so cannot the theory. This thesis aims to excavate which one is the better between the perspective of the theory and the one of Fodor and Lepore's. From my understandings of state space theory of representation, artificial nets can coordinates the criteria of contents similarity by the learning algorithm. On the basis of these, I can see that Fodor and Lepore's points cannot penetrate the Churchlands' theory. From the view point of the theory, we can see how the future's artificial systems can have the conceptual systems recognizing the world. Therefore we can have the perspectives what cognitive scientists have to focus on.

Since 1990, descriptive studies about the concept of client advocacy have been published in the health journals. However, empirical studies of the concept are still lacking. There are not enough bases to apply the concept of client advocacy in nursing practice. The purpose of this paper is to encourage empirical research about client advocacy by clarification of the concept and to discusses application of the theory in child healthcare. The literature was reviewed that empirical studies on client advocacy conducted after the year 2000. The changing trends in the client advocacy concept was examined; it was changed from the philosophical concept to nursing action and changed from individual advocacy to collective advocacy, with the rise of the self advocacy concept. The research trends on client advocacy evolves from descriptive study to quasi-experimental study and instrument development study, with diversification and expansion of research methods, advocates, clients and settings. The advocacy role of the nurse in child healthcare is significant due to the child's lack of self determination ability. In ill child care, the application of individual advocacy is potent, while in healthy child care, collective advocacy, policy advocacy, and social advocacy is effective.
