  • Situational Crisis communication theory (SCCT), one of the major crisis communication theories, suggests that crisis managers have to choose the most effective crisis response strategy in accordance to the crisis type. However, there's a controversy over whether this theory is practically applicable in Korea. Therefore, this study analyzed statements of apology to see if companies in Korea are actually taking different response strategy according to the types of crisis. According to the result of analysis on 244 apology statements published in the newspapers from 2012 to spring of 2015, adaptive response strategy was mostly taken no matter what the crisis type was. In conclusion, there's a discrepancy in crisis response strategy between the theory suggested in SCCT and the current practices in Korea. This conclusion can contribute to devising an appropriate application of SCCT in Korea and to develop a more Korea relevant theory.

  • The study employs the conceptual framework of the strategic success paradigm developed by Ansoff (1990). The strategic success paradigm denotes that optimal performance will be attained when the level of environmental turbulence is aligned with the strategic aggressiveness and organizational capability. Based on the paradigm, authors developed the concept of IT (information technology) aggressiveness (IT aggressiveness henceforth) and capability (IT capability henceforth). In order to clarify the different concept of IT aggressiveness and capability, the author brought the concept of IT architecture. The difference of capability and architecture lies in the depth of technical considerations. Where capability refers attitudinal aspects of managers, architecture emphasizes technical capacity of the organization as a whole. The study validated the need for alignment among IT architecture, environmental turbulence and IT aggressiveness. The imbalance between IT strategy and IT architecture (such as a higher level of IT aggressiveness but a lower level of IT architecture, or vice versa) has a marginal contribution to the organizational IT performance. The alignment among organizational environmental turbulence, IT aggressiveness, and IT architecture resulted in an optimal level of IT performance especially in a turbulent environment.

A study on the overseas expansion strategy of domestic ICT companies in the post-corona era -Focusing on case studies of ICT companies- (포스트 코로나 시대의 국내 ICT기업의 해외 진출 전략에 관한 연구 -ICT 기업 사례분석을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore a support model for domestic ICT companies to advance into overseas markets suitable for the post-corona era along with the rapidly changing global economic situation. As a result of the analysis, first, by analyzing the internationalization cases of domestic ICT companies through the realization theory, in the COVID-19 situation, domestic ICT companies organically respond to crisis situations through ad hoc responses, use of international networks, use of external organizations, and resource-based practices. Through qualitative analysis, we were able to confirm that we are growing overseas while achieving our goals. In addition, strategies for domestic ICT companies to grow through internationalization were derived. Ultimately, it was interpreted as a part that required advancement of government policy according to the government's overseas expansion support system.

  • Situational Crisis communication theory (SCCT), one of the major crisis communication theories, suggests that crisis managers have to choose the most effective crisis response strategy in accordance to the crisis type. Therefore, this study analyzed whether the crisis response strategies of Korea companies are different according to the types of crisis. According to the result of analysis on survey to PR managers, the crisis response strategies are different according to the types of crisis. And the role and function of PR team are different according to the types of crisis, too. This conclusion can contribute to devising SCCT theory and to develop a more Korea relevant theory.

  • We study Interpreted Systems, ATL, and ATEL to capture the notion of time, knowledge, and strategy which are important in the analysis of multi-agent systems and propose strategic constraints based on subgame perfect Nash equilibrium of game theory as one of the solutions for the issues of ATEL which an agent can access the current state of the whole system when making up his strategy even when he should be uncertain about the state, and no explicit representation of actions in ATEL models makes some natural situations harder to model. Also, we present strategic constraints-based Interpreted Systems for model checking of multi-agent systems.

  • The aim of this study is to look into the didactical background for introducing the concept of multiplication and teaching multiplication facts in elementary school mathematics and offer suggestions to improve teaching multiplication in the future. In order to attain these purposes, this study deduced and examined concepts of multiplication, situations involving multiplication, didactical models for multiplication and multiplication strategies based on key ideas with respect to the didactical background on teaching multiplication through a theoretical consideration regarding various studies on multiplication. Based on such examination, this study compared and analyzed textbooks used in the United States, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and South Korea. In the light of such theoretical consideration and analytical results, this study provided implication for improving teaching multiplication in elementary schools in Korea as follows: diversifying equal groups situations, emphasizing multiplicative comparison situations, reconsidering Cartesian product situations for providing situations involving multiplication, balancing among the group model, array model and line model and transposing from material models to structured and formal ones in using didactical models for multiplication, emphasizing multiplication strategies and properties of multiplication and connecting learned facts and new facts with one another for teaching multiplication facts.
