The purpose of this study was to contribute to the field application cost effectively and reasonably by developing the functional piles that make up for the defects of PHC piles. CFP (Concrete Filled Pretensioned Spun High Strength Concrete Pile with Ring type Composite shear connectors) piles developed in this study increases the compressive stress through enlarged cross section by rearranging composite shear connectors and filling the hollow part of PHC pile with concrete. And it improved shear and bending performance placing the rebar (H13-8ea) within the PHC pile and the hollow part of PHC pile of rebar (H19-8ea). In addition, the composite shear connectors were placed for the composite behavior between PHC pile and filled concrete. Placing Rebars (H13-8ea) of PHC pile into composite shear connector holes are sleeve-type mechanical coupling method that filling the concrete to the gap of the two members. Nonlinear finite element analyzes were performed to verify the performance of shear and bending moments and it deduced the spacing of the composite shear connectors. Through a various interpretation of CFP piles, it's proved that the CFP pile can increase the shear and bending stiffness of the PHC pile effectively. Therefore, this can be utilized usefully on the construction sites.

Recently, steel-concrete composite structures are widely used in bridge and building constructions. In this paper, a new type of steel-concrete composite deck with profiled steel sheeting is proposed to replace the conventional cast-in-place reinforced concrete deck. Perfobond rib shear connectors were utilized to provide horizontal shear resistance between the profiled sheeting and the concrete. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed deck system, 8 full-scale deck specimens for PSC girder bridge were fabricated. The specimens were tested with four different shear span lengths to determine the horizontal shear resistance of the deck under a static monotonic loading. For comparison purpose, two reinforced concrete decks were also fabricated and tested. The horizontal shear resistance of the proposed deck system was calculated using the m-k method.
This research analyzed the structural efficiency and application by improving the 100 mm width vertical joint to 150 mm and developing three connection methods to reduce the difficulty in assembling and handling PC walls. Moreover, nonlinear finite analysis was used for analyzing. From the analysis results, when double width connection was applied, the PC wall showed larger load capacity and ductility due to the steel bar sharing loads efficiently. Moreover, as the dimension of loops and the number of bars increased, the maximum load capacity increased as well. Also, among the double width connections, the largest capacity showed in the order of welding, ring and C type loop. However, in case of welding type loop connection, the ring type loop is more stable due to changes in different site conditions. Therefore, thorough quality control of welding is necessary.
Purpose: This study proposes a casing type of shear key to connect with floating breakwater modules composed of concrete and PE(Poly Ethylene), and evaluates the structural performance of the shear key. Method: According to Eurocode, extreme load tests of shear keys with several cross-sections were conducted. Result: The maximum shear resistance of the casing type is 1.5 times than those of the plain concrete type, and the use of the casing shear key leads to ductile behaviors after its peak shear resistance than the shear key made of reinforced concrete. Conclusion: The use of the proposed casing type of shear key will contributes to improve the safety of the shear connection between modular structures.

In this study, to investigate the shear connection material for the composite of steel plate and bottom plate, design standards and research cases for shear connectors in various countries around the world were analyzed and shear tests were performed on the Push-out specimens with a shear connection, which transmits the horizontal shear force developed on the contact surface between the steel plate and the concrete slab due to various vertical loads acting on the bridge deck. Through Push-out tests of shear studs, of which FRP bar instead reinforcement is placed, the shear stud evaluation formula of the steel strap bottom plate was suggested. The suggested equation suggested in this study has the safety factor of approximately three times compared to allowable strength of highway bridge design criteria. In addition, compared to existing DIN standards and Viest assessment equation, the results showed similar values(approximately, 5% error).

The purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of precast concrete segmental bridge columns with shear resistance connecting structure. The system can reduce work at a construction site and makes construction periods shorter. A model of precast concrete segmental bridge columns with shear resistance connecting structure was tested under a constant axial load and a cyclically reversed horizontal load. A computer program, RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures was used. An bonded or unbonded tendon element based on the finite element method, that can represent the interaction between tendon and concrete of prestressed concrete member, is used. A joint element is newly modified to predict the inelastic behaviors of segmental joints. The proposed numerical method gives a realistic prediction of performance throughout the loading cycles for several test specimens investigated.

Corrugated steel-concrete composite deck with I-beam welded is lighter and has higher load carrying capacity than RC slabs due to an I-beam embedded in the corrugated deck. The methods suggested from ACI and design standard of roadway bridge are used to evaluate effective moment inertia of RC structures. This paper presents evaluation and application of effective moment inertia for corrugated steel-concrete composite deck with I-beam welded by using the methods suggested from design standard of roadway bridge, ACI and CEB-FIP MC-90. In order to evaluate effective moment inertia, a series of flexural experiments were carried out. Five beams were built and the parameters considered in the experiments were studs, shape of the sections and connections of the beams. By using the aforementioned methods, effective moments of inertia was calculated and they were compared with the experimental results. As a result, The method suggested from CEB-FIP MC-90 yielded more satisfactory agreement than that from ACI. It was found that the beam has studs showed high load-carrying capacity and high effective moment of inertia.

Method of protruding steel bar embedded in PHC pile for connecting with foundation plate is an intermediate form of fixed and hinged connection and has often been used in architectural structures such as apartment complex. However, mechanical properties of this method have not been proved and its construction process is not simple. In this study, therefore, by analyzing previous research and by considering ratio of steel bar and concrete in PHC pile, which is minimum reinforcement of rebar, the newly optimized method of reinforcing joint of PHC pile and foundation plate is suggested with respect to PHC pile type (PHC 450, PHC 500, and PHC 600). To assess mechanical properties (ultimate tensile and shear strength) of joint of PHC pile and foundation plate, full scale experimental tests are performed. As a result, all cases are satisfied with required design criteria and can be practically applied. Our results indicate that reduction of rebar reinforcement compared to previous method would lead cost saving in PHC pile construction.

In this study, in order to asses the structural performance of trapezoidal PSC girder using a socket joint system and it is possible to calculate the optimized cross-section of the web element tests were carried out for each specimens. we conducted a socket joint performance test, web bending and shear performance tests and all tests were performed at 4 point loading method. The initial crack load of socket joint specimen was significantly lower than the reference specimen but post peak behavior was no significant differences. And the length of the loop joint of the reinforcing bars had no significant effect on the maximum load. As a web shear tests, to obtain a maximum load of the specimen has a prestressing rod reinforced at tension side. As a web flexural tests, to obtain higher diagonal cracking load in specimen of reinforced using prestressing rod than reference specimen.
