A State-of-Charge estimation using extended Kalman filter for battery of electric vehicle (확장칼만필터를 이용한 전기자동차용 배터리 SOC 추정)

  • This paper reports a SOC(State-of-Charge) estimation method using the extended Kalman filter(EKF) algorithm, which can allow real-time implementation and reduce the error of the model and be robust against noise, to accurately estimate and evaluate the charging/discharging state of the EV(Electric Vehicle) battery. The battery was modeled as the first order Thevenin model for the EKF algorithm and the parameters were derived through experiments. This paper proposes the changed method, which can have the SOC to 0% ~ 100% regardless of the aging of the battery by replacing the rated capacity specified in the battery with the maximum chargeable capacity. In addition, This paper proposes the EKF algorithm to estimate the non-linearity interval of the battery and simulation result based on Ah-counting shows that the proposed algorithm reduces the estimation error to less than 5% in all intervals of the SOC.

  • With the increasing development of industrial society and the availability of high quality electrical energy, the simplification of operation and maintenance procedures is required, in order to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems. In this paper, the dielectric breakdown characteristics of $N_2-O_2$ mixed gas solid insulation, which is used as an alternative to SF6 in various electric power facilities, are verified. When the gas mixture has a composition ratio similar to that of the atmosphere, the dielectric breakdown characteristics are relatively stabilized. It was confirmed that the breakdown voltage of the gas in the electrode near an equal electric field increased with increasing pressure according to Paschen's rule. The breakdown voltage of the surface increased linearly with increasing pressure, and the difference was caused by the mixing ratio of $O_2$ gas. This change in the surface insulation breakdown voltage was caused by the influence of the electrically negative $O_2$ gas and the intermolecular collision distance. In this study, the influence of the intermolecular impact distance was larger (than that in the absence of the electrically negative $O_2$ gas). The breakdown voltage relation applicable to Teflon according to the surface insulation characteristics was calculated. The characteristics of the surface insulation properties of Teflon, which is used as a solid insulation material, were derived as a function of pressure. It is thought that these results can be used as the basic data for the insulation design of electric power facilities.

The Fabrication and Characteristics of RTD(Resistance Thermometer Device) for Micro Thermal Sensors (마이크로 열 센서용 측온저항체 온도센서의 제작 및 특성)

  • The physical and electrical characteristics of MgO and Pt thin-films on it, deposited by reactive sputtering and rf magnetron sputtering, respectively, were analyzed with annealing temperature and time by four-point probe, SEM and XRD. Under annealing conditions of $1000^{\circ}C$ and 2 hr, MgO thin-film had the properties of improving Pt adhesion to $SiO_2$ and insulation without chemical reaction to Pt thin-film, and the sheet resistivity and the resistivity of Pt thin-film deposited on it were $0.1288\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ and $12.88\;{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, respectively. We made Pt resistance pattern on $SiO_2$/Si substrate by lift-off method and fabricated thin-film type Pt-RTD(resistance thermometer device) for micro thermal sensors by Pt-wire, Pt-paste and SOG(spin-on-glass). In the temperature range of $25{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, the TCR value of fabricated Pt-RTD with thickness of $1.0{\mu}m$ was $3927\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ close to the Pt bulk value. Resistance values were varied linearly within the range of measurement temperature.

Characteristics Evaluation of Moving Picture Blur Noise for Liquid Crystal Display (액정 디스플레이의 동화상 퍼짐 노이즈 특성 평가)

  • The moving picture blur noise of LCD is measured and the characteristics of it are evaluated. From the results, blur noise is generated only when the sight line moves while pursuing the moving image and blur noise is not generated when the sight line is fixed. In addition, decrease of gray level by the image blur has a linearity and velocity dependence. The blur noise simulator based on this experimental results is developed. From the results of blur noise simulation, the faster the moving speed of image is, the more blur noise has increased and these agree with the results of measurement. In the result of simulating blur noise characteristics by the duty ratio control of backlight, noise is reduced by lowering of the duty ratio. but the blur noise increases if there is in the both of adjacent two frames. Moreover, the case of doubling the frame rate to 120[Hz], decreasing the moving speed of the image by making an new image between the adjacent two frames brings the reduction of blur noise.

Step Counts and Posture Monitoring System using Insole Type Textile Capacitive Pressure Sensor for Smart Gait Analysis (깔창 형태의 전기용량성 섬유압력센서를 이용한 보행 횟수 검출 및 자세 모니터링 시스템)

  • We have developed a textile capacitive pressure sensor for smart gait analysis. The proposed system can convert sensor signal into step counts and pressure levels by different posture. To evaluate the performance of insole type textile capacitive sensor, we measured capacitance change by increment of weights from 10 kg to 100 kg with 10 kg increment using M1 class rectangular weights (four 20 kg weights and two 10 kg weights) which have ${\pm}10%$ tolerance. The result showed non-linearity characteristic of a general capacitive pressure sensor. The test was performed according to a test protocol for four different postures (sitting, standing, standing on a left leg and standing on a right leg) and different walking speeds (1 km/h and 4 km/h). Five healthy male subjects were participated in each test. As we expected, the pressure level was changed by pressure distribution according to posture. Also, developed textile pressure sensor showed higher recognition rate (average 98.06 %) than commercial pedometer at all walking speed. Therefore, the proposed step counts and posture monitoring system using conductive textile capacitive pressure sensor proved to be a reliable and useful tool for monitoring gait parameters.

  • The instantaneous power theory have been considered as efficient theory in recent years, because it is easier to understand numerical representation and more soft to control PWM power converter on $\alpha$-$\beta$ stationary reference frame. From the forgoing theory, with regard to the calculating process of compensating reference current, there are many induced components of current/ power, and these components have consequently influence on physical interpretation of instantaneous power theory. Especially, beginners for studing the instantaneous power theory don't have enough informations for standard waveform of induced $\alpha$-$\beta$ components. Therefore, this paper describes simulation works using MATLAB/SIMULINK for $\alpha$-$\beta$ space trajectories and waveforms of $\alpha$-$\beta$ current and power components, induced from the instantaneous power theory. It is respected that the results in this paper are serviceable as basic information to assist beginner for studing the instantaneous power theory.

  • This parer presents the soil ionization phenomena and parameters associated to characterize the transient performances of grounding system under lightning impulse Currents. Ionization properties in occurring some soil media were experimentally investigated. The cylindrical test cell was employed in order to facilitate the analysis of soil breakdown field intensity and ionized radius. The soil breakdown field intensity, dependence of impedance on the amplitude of impulse current, V-I curves and transient impedances were discussed based on the voltage and current oscillograms. It was found that the ionization process and dynamic behaviors were strongly dependent on the types of soil and two current peaks were not observed in highly water-saturated soils. The results presented in this paper will provide useful information on the improvement of transient performance of a grounding system subjected to lightning impulse Current considering the soil ionization.

The Growth of $MgO:LiNbO_3$ Single Crystal by Czochralski Method and its Density Measurement (Czochralski법에 의한 $MgO:LiNbO_3$단결정 성장과 밀도 측정)

  • Single crystals of LiNbO3 have found extensive application in electro-optic and nonlinear optic devices. However, laser-induced refartive index inhomogeneities, which have been labeled opical damage impose limits on device optical damage in LiNbO3 is imporved if more than 4.5 rml% MgO is added to the melt The laser damage thrueshold increased as much as 100 times better then that of undoped crystals. The MgO doped cystal has thus been urterlsiv81y studied since then. In the study, Mgo:LiNbOs(MLA) single crystals dopsd with 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10.0 mol% MgO have been grown by the czocrualski technique. The metls were prepared in the platinum crluible and 15∼20mm diameter crystals were grown with a length of 20∼30mm in a resitance heater. The growth rate was 2.5mm/hr, the rotation speed 15rpn. Before sawing MLN single crystals were annealed for 24 hours under atmosphere at a temperature of 1080℃. After sawing, we have found an annual ring cross section of MNA crystals only in the direction of perpendicilar to the c-axis. Nonuniform dispusion of MgO was pointed out that the cuties of the state of oxide were strongly affected by oxygen partial pressure in.

금 나노로드 어레이 박막을 이용한 광학형 바이오 센서 개발

  • 본 연구에서는 전 세계적으로 활발히 연구되고 있는 나노바이오센서 분야 중 가장 주목을 받고 있는 LSPR 원리를 이용한 바이오센서를 제작하였다. 금속 나노입자의 국소 표면 플라즈몬 공명현상에 의한 주위환경에 민감하게 반응하는 특성은 고감도 광학형 바이오센서, 화학물질 검출 센서등에 응용된다. 특히 금 나노막대와 같은 1차 나노구조물은 나노막대의 주변 환경 변화에 따라 뚜렷한 플라즈몬 흡수 밴드 변화를 나타냄으로 센서로 적용 했을 때 고감도의 측정이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 다공성인 알루미늄 양극산화 박막 주형틀을 이용하여 다양한 종횡비를 가지는 금 나노막대를 합성하고, 나노막대 어레이 형태의 박막을 제작하였다. 금 나노막대의 합성은 알루미늄 양극산화막을 사용한 주형제조 방법(template method)을 사용하는 전기화학 증착법을 사용하였다. 우선 부도체인 알루미늄 양극 산화막의 한쪽면을 열증착 장비를 사용하여 금을 증착하여 작업 전극(working electrode)을 형성하였다. 백금 선(platinum wire)을 보조 전극(counter electrode)으로 사용하고 Ag/AgCl 전극을 기준 전극(reference electrode)으로 사용하여 삼전극계(three-electrode system)를 형성하였으며, 금 도금 용액(orotemp 24 gold plating solution, TECHNIC INC.)을 사용하여, 800 mV 전압에서 금 나노 막대를 합성하였다. 금 나노막대의 길이는 테플론 챔버를 통과한 전하량 또는 전기 증착 시간에 비례하여 결정된다. 금 나노막대를 성장시킨 알루미늄 양극산화막을 실리콘 웨이퍼에 은 페이스트를 사용하여 고정시킨 후 수산화나트륨 (NaOH)용액을 사용하여 알루미늄 양극산화막을 녹여내어 수직방향으로 정렬되어 있는 나노 막대 어레이 박막을 제조 하였다. 또한 제작된 금 나노막대 어레이의 광학적 특성을 평가하였다. 본 연구에서와 같이 나노막대를 직경방향으로 측정할 경우, 직경방향의 transverse mode만 측정된다. 금 나노 막대가 알루미늄 양극산화막 안에 포함된 상태로 측정된 금 나노로드 어레이 박막의 광 스펙트럼 분포는 금 나노막대의 가시광영역에서의 흡수 스펙트럼을 측정하였을시 직경 및 길이에 따라 transverse mode의 ${\lambda}$ max (최대 흡광)의 위치가 변화됨을 나타낸다. 실험 결과를 바탕으로 나노막대의 종횡비가 증가함에 따라 흡수 스펙트럼의 transverse mode ${\lambda}$ max가 미약하게 단파장 영역으로 이동하는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 원기둥 형태의 금 나노막대의 흡수 스펙트럼에 대한 이론적인 예측과 부합한다. 바이오센서로의 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 자기조립단분자막을 형성하여 항체를 고정하고 CRP에 대한 응답특성을 평가하였다. CRP 항원-항체의 면역반응에 대한 실험 결과 CRP 항원의 농도가 증가함에 따라 넓은 측정범위에서 선형적으로 흡광도가 증가하는 결과를 나타내었으며, CRP 10 fg/ml의 농도까지 검출할 수 있었다. 센서의 선택성을 확인하기 위하여 감지하고자하는 대상물질이 아닌 Tn T 항원을 감지막에 반응시켜 흡광도 변화를 분석하였다. 결과적으로 제작된 센서칩은 선택성을 가지고 측정하고자하는 물질에만 반응함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 다양한 직경을 사용한 부가적인 LSPR현상의 연구에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The field of power system harmonics has been receiving a great deal of attention recently. This is primarily due to the fact that non-linear (or harmonic-producing) loads comprise an ever-increasing portion of what is handled at a typical industrial plant. The incidence rate of harmonic-related problems is low, but awareness of harmonic issues can still help increase offshore power plant system reliability. On the rare occasion that harmonics become a problem, this is either due to the magnitude of harmonics produced or power system resonance. This harmonic study used an electrical configuration for the offloading scenario of a Floating LNG (FLNG) unit, considering power load. This electrical network configuration is visible in the electrical network load flow study part of the project. This study has been carried out to evaluate the performance of an electric power system, focusing on the harmonic efficiency of an electrically driven motor system to ensure offshore plant safety. In addition, the design part of this study analyzed the electric power system of an FLNG unit to improve the safety of operation and maintenance.
