Small electric vehicles, such as electric bicycles or electric kickboards, operate with the power charged in a battery mounted in the vehicle, and some of these users use emergency power sockets installed in apartments or public facilities without getting permission. For this reason, the necessity for a simple method to approve the use of power with instant payment system rises for the building managers and small vehicle users as well. In this paper, we propose a technique to charge batteries for small electric vehicles with less than 1 [kW] through a power supply control device installed on the existing 15 [A]. sockets on the common residential properties or public buildings. It also describes the power user authorization algorithm and how to charge fees for the power used. As a result of this research, this paper shows how the user authentication power supply system with the effect of preventing power theft can be realized by creating an environment in which a battery in a small electric vehicle can be easily charged.

In this paper, the battery charging device using DMFC(Direct Methanol Fuel Cell) for electric bicycle is proposed. In the proposed system, phase-shift full-bridge converter is used as a battery charger by boosting the 12V DMFC output voltage up to 36V. By using the phase-shift technique, the ringing of the transformer is reduced and the efficiency of the converter can be improved. The operation modes of proposed phase-shift full-bridge converter is analyzed and verified by the simulation and the experimental results.
This paper presents for the torque characteristics and improving the efficiency of driving system of electric bicycle which applied IEWPM(Independently Excited Winding Permanent Magnet) motor. IEWPM motor can expand the number of phase from 3 phases to multiphase like SRM motor because stator windings are unconnected directly. BLDC motor raise rotor'-s electromagnetic torque per unit volume by using Spoke type permanent magnet. By using two photo sensor per phase and applying excited width, advance angle and bipolar control, we confirmed higher torque at a low speed, higher out-put at a high speed, and efficiency improvement at a wide speed control area.

In this paper, we propose the battery charging device for electric bicycle using photovoltaic power. DC voltage from the solar cells is low, it needs to be step-up by the power conversion device. The power conversion device applied to this paper is phase-shift full-bridge converter. This converter steps-up from 12${\sim}$22[Vdc] to 36[Vdc] for charging the battery of electric bicycle. Phase-shift full-bridge converter(PSFB) can obtain twice as much DC voltage compared with half-bridge converter, thus it has lower current stress less than half-bridge converter. It is simulated and tested the battery charging device using photovoltaic power.
The aim of this paper is twofold: The one is to design BLDC motors for an electric bicycle and the other is to develop a controller of the BLDC motors. A new BLDC Motor has a permanent magnet rotor in which the magnetic arrangement is radial to the shaft and integral to the rotor laminations instead of mounted on the perimeter of the rotor. This technique concentrates flux, giving a higher flux density than a surface-mounted PM motor and has the increase of reluctance torque. The stator of BLDC motor has parallel winding instead of interconnected wye-connection winding, allowing multi-phase separate independent controllability. It gets much more high power than wye-connection at same low voltage. The proposed controller has a technique of exited with modulation(EWM) and one H-bridge and two photo sensors per phase. Experimental results show the performance of the proposed BLDC motors for an electric bicycle.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a Bicycle Locker System. Generally DC motor has been used to control a Bicycle Locker System, but DC motor system requires frequent maintenances and its power efficiency is comparatively poor especially under heavy load conditions. In order to improve this difficulties, this paper adopts BLDC motor for a Bicycle Locker System and its motor controller is developed. The performances of locker units are compared between DC motor unit and BLDC motor unit. The motor power consumptions between two motors are discussed. Test results verify that power efficiency of the suggested BLDC drive unit is considerably improved compared to the DC drive unit with load condition.
