  • This paper presents electromagnetic finite element analysis of power cables for wind turbine application. Eddy current losses are calculated due to high currents along metallic part, and dielectric strength on power cables is investigated for case study, which suggests the optimal cabling configuration for wind turbine construction.

  • 층상실리케이트 나노입자를 포함한 에폭시수지인 나노콤포지트를 장시간 트리절연내력을 평가하기 위하여 제조하였다. 층살실리케이트를 포함하지 않은 경우보다 월등하게 긴 트리잉파괴 시간을 나타내었다. 더욱이 층상실리케이트 나노입자와 에폭시수지 계면의 효과를 연구하기위해 silane coupling agent을 나노입자에 표면처리하여 장시간 트리잉 파괴에 초점을 맞추었다. 에폭시수지와 층상실리케이트 나노입자사이 커플링 의한 계면결합은 단시간 절연파괴강도와 장시간 트리잉파괴 시간에 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 알았다. 그 결과는 침선단에 교류 전계강도가 781.42kV/mm(교류 15kV, 침선단 곡률반경 $5{\mu}m$) 절연파괴시간을 측정한 결과 나노입자가 충진된 경우 트리개시시간이 24,726분이었고, 파괴에 이르는 시간은 29,213분이 걸렸다. 반면에 실란을 처리하지 않은 경우 파괴시간은 11,591분 이었다. 충진된 층살실리케이트 나노입자의 함량은 3wt%로 하였으며, 이와같은 파괴시간 지연 결과의 향상이 152%향상된 결과는 계면의 결합력이 크게 향상되어 나타낸 경우로 사료된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 8.2MHz 대역의 국내 미약 전계 강도 무선기기의 출력제한치를 다른 외국의 기준치와 비교하였다. 이를 통해 국내의 규정이 미국이나 유럽에 비해 낮음을 확인하였고, 이를 검증하기 위해 8.2MHz EAS 시스템의 출력을 측정하였다. 측정 결과, 전계강도값이 각각 $70.6dB{\mu}V/m$$68.3dB{\mu}V/m$로 측정되었는데, 이러한 값은 국내의 현재 기준인 $102.7dB{\mu}V/m$를 초과하는 값임을 확인하였다. 따라서 8.2MHz 대역의 국내기준의 사양 검토가 필요하다고 사료된다.

  • Both the power increasing of a television broadcasting channel for the purpose of minimiaing weak signal areas and depressing of radiation pattern to prevent some interference in known quadrants may be needed in TV broadcasting. This study shows that, the two needs mentioned above are solvable by adjusting the phases of feeding points, or redesigning the lengths of feeder lines between transmitter outend and feeder inputs in super gain antenna. A theoretical study on lengths of coaxial cables and a practical procedure of designing cable lengths, which is simple and inexpensive to apply, is presented.

  • The formulas taking into account the fundamental features of a meteoric radio propagation are obtained. Numerical simulation analysis has shown complex space structure of a field. Time behavior of intensity are researched taking into account nonstationary model. It is shown, this behavior essentially depends on parameters of a meteor trail, and that there is large variety of time dependencies of the signal intensity at the single scattering. In particular, at appropriate parameters of a meteor underdense trail it is possible large duration meteor bursts with which usually refer to an overdense meteor propagation.

  • Characteristics of monopole antenna and planar conductor structure mounted on handheld telephone are anlayzed by using FDTD method. Feeding of monopole antenna is implemented with lumped elements and plastic case is coated on the surface of conductor box. Otherwise, resonant frequency of handheld telephone mounting monopole antenna with no plastic case is 877MHz, when plastic case (${\varepsilon}_r=2$) is coated, the resonant frequency is down to 82MHz and the bandwidth is broadened about 1.5 times. Planar structure of handheld telephone mounted on the body makes to change far-field gain radiation patterns. In this case, radiation patterns are somewhat asymmetrical. Handheld telephone using PIFA(Planar Inverted F Antenna), instead of monopole antenna, is resonated at frequency 1.52GHz that is available onPCS. In the radiation pattern of this structure, azimuth that electric field intensity is presented below 20dB is 14$^{\circ}$.

  • This paper presents the improvement of the field uniformity in a reverberation chamber which can be substitute an anechoic chamber for the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and immunity test. Nowadays, there are many EMI issues due to the increasing use of wireless local area network (LAN), digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), and mobile internet. With this reason, this paper studied the field characteristics in a reverberation chamber for 2.3 GHz band. In this paper, the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is used to analyze the field characteristics in a reverberation chamber. To improve the field uniformity in the reverberation chamber, this paper adopted a 2D cubical residue diffuser (CRD) with varying the disposition and number of CRD. For each case, the tolerance and standard deviation of the electric field strength are evaluated. In comparison with the reverberation chamber without any CRD, the reverberation chamber with two CRDs showed improved results; 1.98 dB improvement in standard deviation and 3.6 dB improvement in tolerance.

Analysis on DTV Indoor Reception Environments (디지털 TV 실내수신 환경 분석)

  • DTV has a great advantage as compared to Analog TV in picture quality under low reception field strength. Various high quality tuners have been developed to result in much smaller Noise Figure of the receivers and many trials for receiving DTV signal through indoor antenna. In this paper, results of intensive field tests on the indoor reception of DTV are presented. Tests were carried out around Seoul-Gyeonggi Metropolitan area. Commercial directional and omni-directional antennas and 5th generation receiver were used for reception availability tests. The effects of heights, locations, and types of the house as well as the distance to the transmitter on the reception performances are analyzed. Our test results will be applied to improve the indoor reception environment of DTV.

Electromagnetic Environment Analysis of Goheung Aviation Center (고흥항공센터의 전기장 환경 분석)

  • In this study, the analysis of electromagnetic environment of goheung aviation center was performed. If the test object has restrictions to be tested in indoor test facility, open area test site can be used to perform EMC test. Open area test site shall have no obstacles that can generate or reflect the electric field so as to prevent the measurement result from being influenced by unnecessary field. Goheung aviation center is surrounded by fields, and has no buildings that can reflect electric field, so the center can be a good candidate for open area test site. Ambient noise at Goheung aviation center was measured, and the result show that the center has good electromagnetic environment to perform EMC test for large volume object.

  • The antenna height of the mobile communications lower than its typical surroundings causes multipath fading usually resulting in fast fluctuations of both signal strength and wave length in mobile radio communications. Therefore, there have been developed and used various wave be- havior prediction models, in some other foreign countries, based on the measurement data rather than on theoretical derivation. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the wave propagation characteristics particularly in Korean terrain with the measurements made in four types of different areas - a large city area, a small city area, a flat terrain area, and a mountain area. Those areas have been classified according to the terrain characteristics with which the particular area contains, such as scale and number of buildings, highways, trees, and so on. With the measured data of the field strength in the frequency band of pager system obtained from those four different areas, we compared the calculated ones from both Hata's and TIREM prediction models which are often applied in Korea.
