In this study, compression and shear characteristics of laminated rubber bearings and lead rubber bearings with various parameters are investigated by using material and geometric nonlinear three-dimensional finite element analysis. Rubber coupon tests are performed to make a model of the laminated rubber bearings. In addition, the material constants of the rubber are calculated by the curve fitting process of stress-strain relationship. The finite element analysis and experimental tests of the laminate rubber bearings are used to verify the validity of the rubber material constants. It is seen that the compression behavior of the laminated rubber bearings and lead rubber bearings mainly varies depending on the first shape factors and their shear behavior significantly varies depending on the second shape factors. In addition, the horizontal stiffness and energy dissipation capacity of lead rubber bearing are increased when the diameter of a lead bar is increased.
This paper describes the evaluations of tension-compression fatigue characteristics and life for glass fiber/epoxy laminate composite applied to railway bogie to reduce weight. Test samples of tension-compression fatigue were composed of glass fiber/epoxy 4-harness woven laminate composites with different stacking sequence of warp-direction, fill-direction and ${\pm}45^{\circ}$-direction. The tension-compression fatigue test was conducted with stress ratio (R) of -1 and frequency of 5Hz. Goodman diagram were used to evaluate the fatigue characteristics and life of glass fiber/epoxy 4-harness satin woven laminate composite. Anti-buckling jig was designed to prevent buckling of specimen under compression load. The test results showed that the fatigue characteristics of glass fiber/epoxy 4-harness satin woven laminate composite with stacking sequence of warp-direction had a good performance in comparison with that of SM490 used to conventional metal railway bogie.

There are many kinds of dielectric materials in microwave dielectric filters for mobile telecomunication. But It is need to new dielectric materials for IMT200O, Bluetooth, wireless LAN to miniaturize the dielectric filters. These kinds of materials should have high dielectric constants, high Q, and low firing sintering temperature(<900˚C ). Multilayer monolithic dielectric filters are manufactured by BiNb04, dielectric ceramics cofired at 875˚C .

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the shrinkage characteristics of the cement-based composite for 3D printing construction, and to evaluate the shrinkage before/after extrusion and after printing during the printing process. As a result of evaluating the compressive strength by curing age of OPC-mix and printing-mix, similar trends were shown until 7 days of age, but the maximum shrinkage of 252 ㎛/m was larger in the case of OPC-mix compared to printing-mix. During the printing process, the compressive strength of the cementitious composite material after extrusion was about 6.5 MPa lower than the material before extrusion until the 7th day of age, but the level of strength on the 28th day of age was similar. As for the shrinkage characteristics, the result of shrinkage after printing showed greater shrinkage in the range of 220-260 ㎛/m compared to the result of shrinkage before extrusion.
Prediction of damage caused by low-velocity impact in laminated composite plate is an important problem faced by designers using composites. Not only the inplane stresses but also the interlaminar normal and shear stresses playa role in estimating the damage caused. But it is well known that the conventional approach based on the homogenization has the limit in description of damage. The work reported here is an effort in getting better predictions of dynamic behavior and damage in composite plate using DNS approach. In the DNS model, we discretize the composite plates through separate modeling of fiber and matrix for the local microscopic analysis. In the view of microscopic mechanics with DNS model, interlaminar stress behaviors in the inside of composite materials are investigated and compared with the results of the homogenized model which has been used in the conventional approach to impact analysis. Also the multiscale model based on DNS concept is developed in order to enhance the effectiveness of impact analysis, and we present the results of multiscale analysis considering micro and macro structures simultaneously.
The hybrid composite materials with non-woven tissue (NWT) was developed to improve the mechanical properties of conventional FRP composite materials. The hybrid prepreg with NWT consists of FRP prepreg and NWT prepreg. The NWT prepreg consists of NWT and polymer resin. The NWT has short fibers, discretely distributed with in-plane random orientation fibers. The purposes of this study of hybrid prepreg with NWT are (i) to increase the interlaminar properties(the fracture toughness and strength), (ii) to improve the mechanical properties and reliability, while maintaining a low cost, (iii) to introduce a tough and strong interlayer at critical positions to be required of strength in the laminate. To accomplish the above purposes, a production technique to decrease voids in NWT layers was proposed in this paper. The interlaminar failure characteristics of laminated composite materials was tremendously improved by hybrid concept with NWT.

In this study, the inhomogeneous material composed of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastic) and structural metal of SM45C is used for the light material. The finite element analysis on the basis of compact tension test was carried out by using the composite material for sandwich type bonded with the unidirectional CFRP that differs in fiber stacking angle at both sides with the core of SM 45C. CT test is the representative method to confirm the fracture behaviour due to crack in material under the load. The effect on crack and hole must be investigated in order to apply inhomogeneous material to mechanical structure. As the result of this study, the fracture behaviour by CT test of the composite material for sandwich was studied by simulation analysis. The sandwich composite of unidirectional CFRP with the stacking angle of [0/60/-60/0] has the superior strength and the maximum equivalent stress of about 182GPa.Also, the esthetic sense can be shown as the designed factor of shape with composite material is grafted onto the convergence technique.

This paper provides the compressive failure strength value of composite laminate developed by using regression analysis method. Composite material in this document is a Carbon/Epoxy unidirection(UD) tape prepreg(Cycom G40-800/5276-1) cured at $350^{\circ}F(177^{\circ}C$). The operating temperature is -$-60^{\circ}F{\sim}+200^{\circ}F$($-55^{\circ}C{\sim}+95^{\circ}C$). A total of 56 compression tests were conducted on specimens from eight (8) distinct laminates that were laid up by standard angle layers ($0^{\circ}$, $+45^{\circ}$, $-45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$). The ASTM-D-6484 standard was used for test method. The regression analysis was performed with the response variable being the laminate ultimate fracture strength and the regressor variables being two ply orientations ($0^{\circ}$ and ${\pm}45^{\circ}$).
