A Study for Aerodynamic Drag Reduction on Variable Message Sign using Flow Analysis (유동해석 기반 도로전광표지 공기저항 저감 구조 연구)

  • As the demand of Variable Message Sign(VMS) has become pervasive in fulfilling the ITS policy, the costs of maintaining the Variable Message Sign operation have also increased. This paper proposes the U-curved figure, the C-curved figure and the ventilated figure type for aerodynamic drag reduction on Variable Message Sign and shows the analysis of aerodynamic drag effects using Flow Analysis. As a results of the flow analysis for right-angled, 45 degrees from side to side and 45 degrees from up or down, the C-curved figure and the ventilated figure type show about 30% aerodynamic drag reduction in all direction. And the U-curved figure type shows vivid aerodynamic drag reduction for right-angled and 45 degree from side to side, but trivial aerodynamic drag reduction for 45 degree from up or down. It is possible to reduce not only the damage on Variable Message Sign due to typhoon because of the aerodynamic drag reduction, but also installation constraints because of lighter Variable Message Sign support structure by appling the proposed structure and analysis in this paper.

A Study on the Mechanization of the Grounding Rod Earth Construction Method to Improve the Grounding Resistance Characteristics (봉형접지극 접지저항 향상을 위한 기계화 시공 연구)

  • The bar-shaped electrode is very popular in earth construction for its easy obtainments of the regulative grounding resistance values on power distribution systems in many countries. For these reason, a lots of researches are being proceeded on its deformation and materials. But the grounding construction has limit for improvement the grounding resistance characteristics not only by the improvement of the driven electrode, because that the grounding characteristics are very sensitive to soils(hard, soft). This study is about the construction methods on which the driven electrode can be serially or parallely connected using by hollow screw rod for obtaining the regulative grounding resistance values. The experimental results show that the grounding resistance values are reduced more than 30[%] comparing with the other construction methods under the same conditions(earth resistance, numbers of driven electrode, construction method of serial and parallel, chemicals for reducing grounding resistance, water).

Vibration Reduction of Cantilever using Passive Piezoelectric Shunt (수동형 압전션트를 이용한 외팔보의 진동저감 연구)

  • Piezoelectric shunt is an electric type damper capable of reducing the vibration of the structure. Vibration generated at the natural frequency of the structure are converted into electrical energy through the piezoelectric material attached to the structure. Electric energy can be dissipated by thermal energy using piezoelectric shunt composed of inductor and resistance to reduce vibration. In this paper, the equation for the optimum inductance required to reduce the vibration of the cantilever beam was examined and the vibration of the aluminum cantilever was reduced by using finite element analysis and experiments. In the finite element analysis, the mode shape and the strain energy distribution were calculated to examine the mounting position, and the vibration reduction of the cantilever was calculated by adjusting the inductance and resistance circuit values. In addition, in the experiment, a variable inductor module was used to reduce the vibration occurring at a specific frequency of the cantilever. Finally, based on the results of the finite element analysis and the experiment, it was verified that the piezoelectric shunt can effectively reduce the vibration of the cantilever.

Aerodynamic Drag Reduction in Cylindrical Model Using DBD Plasma Actuator (DBD 플라즈마 구동기를 이용한 원통모델의 공기저항저감)

  • Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator was designed to reduce aerodynamic drag in a cylindrical model and wind tunnel test was performed at various wind velocities. In addition, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and flow visualization were used to investigate the effect of the plasma on the flow stream in the cylinderical model. At low wind velocity, the plasma actuator had no effects because flow separation did not appear. The aerodynamic drag was reduced by 14% at 14 m/s and by 27% at 17 m/s, respectively. It was confirmed by CFD analysis and flow visualization that the DBD plasma actuator decreased in pressure difference around the cylindrical model, thus decreasing the magnitude of wake vortex.

Optimal System Design and Minimization of Conducted EMI Noise in Elevator Inverter System by Customized IPM (주문형 IPM을 이용한 엘리베이터용 인버터의 최적화 설계 및 전도 EMI 노이즈 저감)

  • This paper deals with the optimal design of a elevator inverter system based on the customized IPM. The proposed method reduces dv/dt and di/dt, which resulted in the minimized conducted EMI noise without an additional circuitry. It only optimizes the value of gate resistor in the IGBT embedded in the IPM. In order to optimize the customized IPM to a elevator system, we simulated and measured the spike voltage and the motor surge voltage including the temperature variation due to the switching losses at the IPM case and heat-sink. As a result, thanks to the optimized value of the gate resister in the IPM, the conducted EMI noise is reduced approx. 5∼10 [dB$\mu$V] in a particular frequency domain.

  • 본 연구는 접지저감제의 성분으로 수용성 고분자의 유기물과 층상형 점토의 무기재료를 주재료하여 새롭게 개발한 새로운 형태의 접지저감제의 성능비교에 관한 것이다. 신개발의 접지저감제는 수분을 흡습하여 수분에 용해된 수용성고분자가 수분과 함께 층상형점토의 층으로 삽입되어 접지저감 성능을 발휘하게 된다. 본 연구의 유 무기 복합재료형 접지저감제는 함수율과 팽창률이 매우 우수할 뿐 아니라 300wt%의 수분을 공급 후 측정한 전기전도도도 매우 뛰어나다. 또한 환경친화적인 천연재료들이므로 인체나 환경에 매우 안전하며, 접지전극의 부식과 전식을 방지하는 기능이 매우 뛰어나 염해나 화학적으로 부식성이 높은 토양에서 큰 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 신개발의 접지저감제와 기존의 여러 접지저감의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위해 현장의 대지저항율을 측정 분석하여 각각의 접지저감제의 접지설계에 적용하여 시뮬레이션하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과와 현장에서 실제 시공한 측정 결과와 비교 분석하였다.

  • 최근 에너지 저장장치의 사용과 신재생에너지를 이용한 분산발전의 규모가 점차 확대됨에 따라 계통에 원활한 전류주입과 주입 전류의 스위칭 고조파 리플성분 저감을 위해 LCL 필터를 이용한 계통연계형 인버터가 널리 사용되고 있다. 이러한 계통연계형 인버터의 주입전류 특성은 LCL 필터에 종속적이기 때문에 정밀한 주입전류제어를 위해 LCL 필터의 정확한 해석이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 명확한 LCL 필터 해석을 위해 LCL 필터의 인덕터 직렬 내부저항을 고려한 LCL 필터 특성을 해석하였으며, 이러한 해석을 기반으로 LCL필터 공진현상에 따른 주입전류의 THD를 저감하기 위한 인덕터 가상 직렬저항 능동댐핑 기법을 제안하고 HILS 실험을 통해 제안하는 능동댐핑 기법의 성능을 검증하였다.

Micro-Filtration Performance of Metal Membrane md Fouling Reduction by Intermittent Ozonation (금속 막의 정밀 여과 특성 및 간헐적 오존 처리에 의한 막 오염 저감)

  • Total resistance of membrane in a micro-filtration system using a metal membrane was mainly attributed to the permeate resistance of cake layer($R_c$), which was formed by deposited particles from the physico-chemical interactions of solids on membrane surface. Intermittent back ozonation was highly effective than the air backwashing for fouling reduction. As far the operational effect, under same ozone injection, the increase of gas flow-rate was more favorable than the increase of injection time far the recovery of permeation flux. As the filtration time was longer, the effect of flux recovery by intermittent back-ozonation decreased. Therefore, it is preferable to operate membrane cleaning before the foulant is consolidated on membrane surface.

Characteristics of Flow-Induced Noise in the Suction Nozzle of a Vacuum Cleaner with a Double-Blade Fan (이중 블레이드 팬이 장착된 진공청소기 브러쉬의 유동소음 특성)

  • The characteristics of noise generation in the suction nozzle of a vacuum cleaner are analyzed numerically and experimentally. First, the flow resistance induced by each element in the suction nozzle of a vacuum cleaner with a double-blade rotary fan is investigated numerically and its relation with flow-induced noise and suction performance is examined in an anechoic room. The flow resistance and vorticity in the suction nozzle are calculated, and it is found that they are closely related to flow-induced noise and that the upper limit of noise reduction is only 4 dBA. This upper limit can be achieved by changing the design of the brush nozzle. Two methods for noise reduction by enlargement of flow-inlet area and by optimization of the number of blades are tested. Finally, the effects of each method are verified experimentally.
