고방열 세라믹 기판을 이용한 LED 방열 특성에 대한 고찰

  • 최근 Light-emitting diodes (LEDs: 발광다이오드) 디바이스의 고휘도, 저전력, 긴 수명, 다양한 색연출 가능, 친환경 소자 등의 장점으로 LED 디바이스가 flat panel display(FPD)의 back light unit (BLU) 를 비롯해 실내 외 조명과 자동차 전조등 분야 이외에도 의료, 인테리어 사업을 비롯한 각종 전자 통신 기기의 정보 처리 기기의 표시소자 등, 여러 제품 군에 적용되는 가운데 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 하지만 이러한 여러 가지 장점에도 불구하고 LED 모듈에서의 junction temperature가 높은 방열 특성이 나쁘다는 단점은 아직 해결되지 않고 있는 실정이다. LED 소자 모듈에서의 junction temperature가 높을 경우 소비되는 에너지가 많을 뿐만 아니라 LED 소자의 발광효율이 떨어지고 수명이 급격히 저하 되어, 결국에는 신뢰성 특성이 현저히 저하 되는 결과가 초래되기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 LED 디바이스의 열저항을 낮추기 위해 고방열 세라믹 기판을 이용해 LED 디바이스의 방열 특성을 향상시킨 결과를 제시한다. 고방열 세라믹 기판을 제작하여 LED 칩을 실장시킨 다음 LED 열저항 특성을 측정하였다. 이때 고방열 세라믹 기판은 Al2O3와 AlN이 사용되었으며 제작한 세라믹 기판의 강도, 표면 roughness, 미세구조 등을 살펴보고 이 기판들의 열전도도를 측정하였다. 제작 공정방법에 따라 세라믹 기판의 미세구조를 비롯한 기계적, 열적 특성이 현저히 변하였으며 이때 LED 칩을 실장 하여 측정한 열저항 특성 값도 함께 변하였다. Al2O3의 열저항 값은 3.003 K/W 으로 측정 되었으며, AlN의 열저항 값은 3.003k/W 으로 측정되었다.

  • Internet of thing becomes more active, many sensor devices are increasing. Sensors can use network wired network or use mobile communication network. From the viewpoint of the transmission rate, the mobile communication network can be roughly divided into two types of high-speed communication and low-speed communication. In the case of hundreds of millions of sensors in the mobile communication network, resources are wasted to use high-speed communication. Communication is required to reduce the transmission rate and appropriately allocate resources without wasting such resources. As the Internet of Thing has been activated, Narrowband Internet of Thing(NB-IoT), which is one of the low-power technologies in recent mobile communications, is in the spotlight from various companies. Currently, it can be seen that only NB-IoT or other low power consumption communication has the potential to be able to connect to the Internet with rapidly increasing sensor devices. In this paper, we designed and implemented a heater controller using Huawei NB-IoT communication Module, a server that collects controller information, and an application that allows default settings for devices. The main function of this system is to collect temperature and heater status and give it to the server, control the heater from the server, and set parameters for the heater to operate automatically. The system can be applied to places where wired communication is not established, such as road information, smart agriculture, and small reservoirs as well as heaters.

  • In this paper, we propose a RF front-end developments for vehicle UWB radar systems. UWB systems have a very narrow pulse width that is below 1ns. Therefore, UWB is designed to have broadband quality of low power several GHz and must coexist with the radio communication system. UWB's advantages include high channel capacity and data rate, because precise resolution for multi-path can easily position estimate and Rake receiver. Also, UWB has low interference because it displays broadband quality of low power. Positioning is made possible by short range accuracy, which can reduce the expense of system design. An RF front-end module is designed using the DCR(Direct ConveRsion) method and is composed in RF for vehicles at a low-cost.

  • In cloud computing, server virtualization supports one or more virtual machines loaded on multiple operating systems on a single physical host server. Migration of a VM is moving the VM running on a source host to another physical machine called target host. A VM live migration is essential to support task performance optimization, energy efficiency and energy saving, fault tolerance and load balancing. In this paper, we propose open source based adaptive VM live migration technique. For this, we design VM monitoring module to decide VM live migration and open source based full-virtualization hypervisor.

  • Wearable display market is a consistently growing field to handle a smart device with ease. Wearable display is an efficient device that can show the information to the user. In this paper, propose the scheme of a wearable display using LED and implement it including controlling remotely with BLE. Traditional outdoor LED display requires the dedicated controller and its software. Therefore, to control those LED display, it should implement a driver and its own way of communication. The proposed method is to ensure the independence and extensibility by separating driver module and communication module for controlling LED display. In addition, by adopting a short-range communication with Bluetooth 4.0 and a LED driver with low-power technology, it can be showed to control system configuration and display with a smart device.

  • Recently increasing usage of smartphones makes the Internet of Things (IoT) a leading technology that can collect and share data through sensor networks and wireless communication such as low-power Bluetooth (BLE). BLE-based application can provide operators more precise information on Automatic Door system by remotely diagnosing the system faults through wireless sensor networks and sensors around the Automatic Door. In this paper, a smart device with extended BLE module is implemented which can monitor and Control the system states and faults remotely without on-site diagnostic. while maintaining system integrity so that increase efficiency of time and costs for system management. We can use the results of this research as a basis in evaluating reliability of data between devices, extending communication module in Controller of obsolete Door systems, and establishing centralized monitoring systems in near future with multi-channel Door Controls.

  • This paper presents smart laundry management system using wireless Radio Frequnecy Identification (RFID) reader for efficient managing a large amount of laundry and clothing. The proposed system is comprised of wireless RFID hanger, base module connected on PC, and server system. The wireless RFID hanger with RFID reader read RFID tag attached on clothes and transmit tag information using wireless communication. The server system manage customers and his clothing using Database (DB) and display the information on the web page and smart phone devices. Since the proposed system operates with battery, we can evaluate its lifetime to measure current consumption. The designed system can be utilized to manage quantities of clothes and also it will be a good service to improve efficiency of laundry process.

  • This significance of the infant care system has emerged due to sudden infant death during sleeping. This paper presented a design and implementation of a prototype model, which is a infant care device controlled by a smartphone using Bluetooth technology. Prototype Device Model consists of MCU(microcontroller unit), Accelerometer Sensor, Temperature Measuring Sensor, Sound Measuring Sensor, Bluetooth Module, and Camera Module. The proposed application transfers the information to the parent's smartphone and computers, such as infant's falling, crying, and fever detection. A test verified the availability of a prototype infant care system model using Bluetooth Low Energy with operating the low power driving.

  • 저 전력 마이크로 프로세서와 무선 통신 모듈, 통합된 시스템 장치들을 내장한 센서 노드를 이용하여 구축 된 센서 네트워크는 동작환경과 구조가 특이하며 시스템 설계 시 많은 제약 조건들이 고려되어야 한다. 이러한 센서 네트워크의 각 노드는 센서를 이용한 정보 수집과 같은 여러 가지 응용 프로그램, 노드 간 통신, 제한된 시스템 자원을 효율적으로 관리 할 수 있는 기능들이 필요하며 이에 센서 노드를 위한 여러 가지 운영체제들이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 센서 노드를 위해 효과적이고 응용의 변화에 대처할 수 있도록 동적 재구성 기능을 지원하도록 설계된 유한 상태 머신 (finite state machine) 기반의 운영체제인 SenOS의 특징과 구현된 SenOS를 개선한 결과를 발표한다.

  • 산업분야에서 많이 사용되고 있는 컴퓨터나 자동화 제조공정 둥은 전압저하나 이상전압에 민감하게 반응한다. 전력품질의 문제가 증가함에 따라 수용가 측에서는 무정전 전원장치(UPS)와 같은 일정전압을 유지할 수 있는 전압조절장치 들을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전압조절기 응용을 위한 PWM Buck-Boost AC/AC 컨버터가 제안된다. 제안된 컨버터는 IGBT 스위칭 모듈을 사용하고 입력전압의 저하나 증가시, 그리고 부하의 변동시에 PWM 제어에 의하여 일정한 전압을 유지할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 PWM Buck-Boost AC/AC 컨버터의 회로구성과 특징을 설명하고 이를 PSPICE 시뮬레이션을 통하여 동작특성을 보인다.
