Effect of Chestnut on lipid Metabolism and Antithrombotic Capacity in Rats (랫드에서 밤의 과육 및 내피가 지방대사 및 항혈전능에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of dried powder of chestnut on lipid metabolism, anti-thrombotic effect in rats. Thirty 5-week-old male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly allocated into five groups and used for experiment. We examined the lipid metabolism and antithrombotic capacity of SD rats administered for 5 weeks with 0.16 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg chestnut flesh powder and 0.16 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg chestnut inner shell and flesh powder mixture, respectively. Food intake, body weight gain and food efficiency ratio were also checked. The levels of serum triglyceride and tree fatty acid were not statistically significant between the all experimental groups. However, the antithrombotic capacity and total lipid levels of the treatment groups were significantly lower than those of the negative control group. These results suggest that the supplementation of chestnut on diet lower the total lipid level in SD rats.

  • An experiment was conducted under different N, $P_2O_5$ and $K_2O$ fertilizer levels to study the environmental effects on protein content in rice kernels. Protein content in rice kernels was mostly affected by N-fertilizer, and weakly affected by N, $P_2O_5$ and $K_2O$ fertilizers. High or low nitrogen level was not necessarily required to detect high protein lines. 20% selection among the total tested lines would be enough, at any level of N-fertilizer, to maintain genetically high protein lines.

  • 터치패널은 저항막 방식, 정전용량 방식, 적외선방식, Camera방식 등을 사용하고 있으며 현재 널리 상용화 되어 있는 방식은 정전용량 방식이다. 최근 터치스크린의 면적이 점점 커지게 되면서 점차 저저항, 고투과율을 가지는 IM ITO (Index matching ITO)를 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중대형 사이즈(15inch 이상)의 Cover glass 일체형 터치센서 구현을 위한 저저항(60ohm/sq이하), 고투과(88% 이상)의 IMITO Glass를 제작하여 전기적,광학적 특성을 분석하여 IMITO 성막조건을 최적화시키는 연구를 하였다. 또한 TSP의 Pattern 시인성을 향상시키기 위해 Index matching층을 고굴절재료와 저굴절 재료를 사용한 다층박막을 형성하여 반사율(0.5% 이하)을 최소화시켜 구현하였다.

  • 최근 상업용 빌딩, 주거용 빌딩 및 공장등의 저전압 3상 4선식 배전계통에서 PC, UPS, 정류기기, 조명장치 및 사무용기기등 비선형 부하의 사용이 증가하고 있으며, 이로 인한 과도한 중성선 전류는 중성선의 고장, 변압기의 과열 및 중성선과 접지사이의 전압강하등 심각한 문제를 야기 시키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3상 4선식 배전계통에서 중성선 전류 저감을 위한 새로운 능동전력필터를 제안한다. 제안한 방식은 제어가 간단하고 부하용량대비 인버터등 장치의 용량이 작아 저 가격으로 실현할 수 있다. 제안한 시스템은 이론적인 분석과 모의실험 및 실험에 의하여 그 타당성을 입증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Xen 하이퍼바이저에서 연성 실시간 작업을 지원하기 위한 실시간 스케줄링 알고리즘을 제안하고 있다. 제안하는 기법은 하이퍼바이저에서 제공하는 Credit 스케줄러를 개선하여 실시간 게스트 운영체제의 VCPU를 우선적으로 처리하도록 하였다. 또한 실시간 VCPU가 실시간 처리를 위해 요구하는 프로세서 용량을 제외한 부분 내에서 비실시간 VCPU가 수행 될 수 있도록 프로세서 용량을 제한하였다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 실시간 스케줄러가 실시간 태스크의 데드라인 실패율을 크게 줄임을 알 수 있다.

  • The major pathogenesis of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is an inflammatory process that results from a diversity of injuries to the body. Due to the various cytokines and vasoactive peptides released from the endothelium, the vascular permeability is increased; the migration of inflammatory cells and the leakage of plasma proteins then occur and edema develops in the alveolus. There is a hypothesis that the impairment of alveolar recruitment in ARDS is caused by a defect of the surfactant system and the resultant increase of alveolar surface tension. This has been studied in pediatric patients in ARDS; after the administration of surfactant, hypoxia, respiratory symptoms and survival chances were improved. To alleviate the major pathogenic mechanism in this disease, that is to say, inflammation of the lung, steroids have been used and studied as another treatment modality for ARDS, and it has been concluded that the administration of low dose methylprednisolone may improve patients' symptoms and survival rates. We report here on a case of a young infant admitted with ARDS, who, after the intratracheal administration of 120 mg/kg surfactant, on $PaO_2/FiO_2$ was elevated. Subsequent low doses of methylprednisolone were given, and the symptoms did not recur, and no fibrotic change was shown during the follow-up period of 2 months.

Proliferation of Dopamine $D_2$-Like Receptors after Treatment with Low Dose Haloperidol in Rat Brain (저용량의 Haloperidol투여에 의해 유발된 백서 뇌내 Dopamine $D_2$양 수용체증식)

  • The effects of chronic treatment with haloperidol on the binding capacities of dopamine(DA) $D_2$-like receptor were investigated in rat striatum and olfactory tubercle. The authors tried to confirm the dose-response effects with usual dose and low dose haloperidol. Rats were treated with haloperidol(0.05, 0.15, 0.5, 1.5mg/kg/day in drinking water) for four weeks. Saturation analysis of the binding of [$^3H$]spiperone to striatal membranes showed that the haloperidol treatment(0.05, 0.5, 1.5mg/kg) induced significant proliferation. The changes of dissociation constant(Kd) were not significant in striatum. The maximal binding density(Bmax) and Kd increased remarkably following the treatment with usual dose haloperidol (1.5mg/kg) in olfactory tubercle. Although there was increasing trend other the treatment with low dose haloperidol, the change of Bmax was not significant statistically. The present findings indicate that low dose haloperidol induces the proliferation of DA $D_2$-like receptor in striatum and interact with the dopaminergic transmission which might underlie the antipsychotic effect. This finding may support the recent clinical suggestion on the low dose strategy in the treatment of schizophrenia.
