  • 본 연구는 저빈도·고강도의 확률강우량 산정을 위해, 대규모 기후 앙상블 모의실험 기반으로 생성된 d4PDF(Data for Policy Decision Making for Future Change)를 적용하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel sound field reconstruction algorithm using a three dimensional loudspeaker array for providing realistic sound field to multiple listeners. The proposed algorithm is based on minimization of the squared error between the original sound field and the reconstructed sound field by the loudspeaker array over a predefined three dimensional region of the space using a loudspeaker array surrounding the listening area. For evaluating the proposed algorithm, we constructed the three dimensional array composed of 40 loudspeakers and discuss the relevant experiment results.

  • In this study, we developed a model to simulate the interaction between sediment and the overlying water. The model deals with water-sediment interaction in terms of the sedimentation of organic detritus from the pelagic zone into the benthic zone and the release of nutrients occurring in the reverse direction. The model was tested and verified by comparing the predicted release rates of phosphorus from the sediment in Osaka Bay with actual observed values. The results accurately reproduced the seasonal change in release rates. The results well represented seasonal change of the release rates. A long-term prediction of water and sediment quality was performed for the period from 1950 to 1999. Nutrient loads from land and the boundary conditions of 3-D baroclinic flows were season-adjusted. The model accurately reproduced the changing trends in phosphorus, nitrogen, and COD concentrations in Osaka Bay over a long period of time.

  • This paper developed advanced gravity model for higher estimation accuracy, that deals with residuals. Previously studied paper using gravity model's residual, residual calculated that observed O-D value minus derived O-D value from gravity model, and this residual added to the target year's estimated value from gravity model. In this paper, residuals calculated on gravity model parameter estimation process, and this residual is revealed the same value that observed O-D value devided by derived O-D value from gravity model. And case study resulted that developed new gravity model that applied accordance rate of observed O-D value and derived O-D value from gravity model has higher estimation accuracy than other gravity models as basic gravity model and residual plused gravity model.

  • Cross-Media Storytelling(CMS) is the new method of media representation. It picks the features and the elements in one media, and uses them in another media. 'Remediation' in digital era uses the content of old media in new form based on new technology. But 'CMS' represents the basic elements of the media experience in each unique style of media. It changes the focus from the technology to experience. So CMS is the new strategy of the media not based on the new technology. Adam PESapane's (2006) is a example for this strategy. It takes the game media as a subject matter. But it expresses the meta-representation of game experience in the "stop motion animation" Especially it emphasizes the narrative chain between the usual phenomenon and the visual imagination. And it shows the possibility of representation of new media experience in the old media genre. So it suggests the conditions of CMS.

  • A number of methods have been developed to determine sample sizes in clinical trial, and most clinical trial organizations determine sample sizes based on the methods. In contrast, determining sufficient sample sizes needed for experiments using microarray chips is unsatisfactory and not widely in use. In this paper, our objective is to provide a guideline in determining sample sizes, utilizing reproducibility of real microarray data. In the reproducibility comparison, five methods for discovering differential expression are used: Fold change, Two-sample t-test, Wilcoxon rank-sum test, SAM, and LPE. In order to standardize gene expression values, both MAS5 and RMA methods are considered. According to the number of repetitions, the upper 20 and 100 gene accordances are also compared. In determining sample sizes, more realistic information can be added to the existing method because of our proposed approach.

  • Using the commercial CFD code FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$ which has an implicit General Moving Object (GMO) method, the ship-induced wave has been simulated. In the implicit GMO method of the FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$, a rigid body's motion which is either user-prescribed (prescribed motion) or dynamically coupled to fluid flow (coupled motion) can be computed with six degrees of freedom (DOF). The simulated horizontal wave patterns are agree with the wave patterns represented by depth Froude number. The model has been well-simulated to generate the depth-dependent wave transformation in comparison of uniform depth case to complicated depth case. Additionally, it shows that ship-induced waves have been reasonably generated by two ships passing each other and by a ship moving in a curve. Therefore, it is suggested that the FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$ model calibrated with observed data should provide more accurate prediction for the ship-induced wave in a certain fairway or harbor.

  • Context-sensitive spelling errors (CSSE) are hard to correct, since they are perfect words when analyzed alone. Determined only by considering the semantic and syntactic relations of their context, CSSEs affect largely the performance of spelling and grammar checkers. The existing Korean Spelling and Grammar Checker (KSGC 4.5) adopts a rule-based method, which uses hand-made correction rules for CSSEs. Using rule-based method, the KSGC 4.5 is designed to obtain the very high precision, which results in the extremely low recall. In this paper, we integrate our previous works that control the CSSE correction rules, in order to improve the recall without sacrificing the precision. In addition to the integration, facultative insertion of adverbs and conjugation suffix of predicates are also considered, as for constraint-loosening linguistic features.

  • A video is a vivid medium similar to human's visual-linguistic experiences, since it can inculcate a sequence of situations, actions or dialogues that can be told as a story. In this study, we propose story learning/regeneration frameworks from videos with successive event order supervision for contextual coherence. The supervision induces each episode to have a form of trajectory in the latent space, which constructs a composite representation of ordering and semantics. In this study, we incorporated the use of kids videos as a training data. Some of the advantages associated with the kids videos include omnibus style, simple/explicit storyline in short, chronological narrative order, and relatively limited number of characters and spatial environments. We build the encoder-decoder structure with successive event order embedding, and train bi-directional LSTMs as sequence models considering multi-step sequence prediction. Using a series of approximately 200 episodes of kids videos named 'Pororo the Little Penguin', we give empirical results for story regeneration tasks and SEOE. In addition, each episode shows a trajectory-like shape on the latent space of the model, which gives the geometric information for the sequence models.
