The subjects for this study on delinquent behavior, substance use and risk/protective factors consisted of 301 Korean-American students in grades 6 to 12. Findings were that (1) the delinquent behavior rate of adolescents using alcohol, tobacco or other substances was higher than that of non-using adolescents, increasing the odds of delinquent behavior from 3 to 45 times. (2) The probability of delinquents in the substance users group was higher by 7 to 44 times than in the non-users group. (3) The relationship with delinquent behavior of risk factors and substance use was much stronger than the relationship with delinquent behavior of protective factors and substance use. (4) The strongest predictor of delinquent behavior or substance use was the peer-individual domain.

벌써 2003년 12월이다. 시간의 흐름은 나이를 먹을수록 점점 가속이 붙는다고 하더니, 해가 가면 갈수록 점점 1년이 더욱 빠르게 흘러가는 느낌을 받는다. 지난 한 해에 대해 스스로 만족스럽게 생각되는가. 이제 한 달 채 되지 않는 동안에 1년을 되돌아보고, 다가오는 1년을 어떤 식으로 운영할지 기획해 봐야 하는 때가 됐다. 연말연시에 한두 번쯤 심심풀이로 해 보는 것 가운데 하나로 토정비결이라는 것을 들 수 있다. 미신이다, 구닥다리 통계이다, 냥 심심풀이일 뿐이다 등등 이야기를 할 수 있기도 하지만, 원래 이러한 점의 의미를 미래에 대한 예언이 아니라 넓은 의미에서의 조언으로 받아들인다면 어떨까. 믿지는 않더라도 가끔은 재미로, 가끔은 조언삼아 이러한 점술 관련 콘텐츠를 즐겨보는 것도 괜찮을 것 같아 이번 모바일 콘텐츠 리뷰 주제로 선정해 보았다. 카드를 이용하는 점에서부터 시작해서, 자신의 얼굴을 이용한 사주 풀이는 물론 로또까지 찍어주는 광범위한 콘텐츠를 소개할까 한다. 자, 모바일 부채도사를 만나러 떠나 보자.

The subjects for this study consisted of 301 Korean-American students in grades 6 to 12. Findings of this study showed that most of the risk factors in all domains demonstrated a strong relationship to the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other illicit drugs. In the community domain the most common risk factor was "laws favorable toward drug use"(60.2%); this risk factor increased the odds of substance use by approximately 3 times. The protective factor, "opportunity for positive involvement" in school domain reported by 82% of the sample decreased the probability of substance use by 3 times. The percentage of students "resilient" on all protective factors in the family domain was much lower than that of protective factors in other domains. The strongest predictors of substance use were shown in the peer-individual domain.

The purpose of this study was to explore the ideas about Korean-American mother's school-age child rearing that are represented on internet community. The method used for this study was content analysis and the data consisted of articles about Korean-American mother's school-age child rearing on a internet community bulletin board during 1 year in 2008. It was found that these articles dealt with problems of practice in interfacing between home and social institutions(Especially school), teaching, counseling, nurturing and disciplining. For example, 831 articles put great emphasis on interfacing between home and social institutions, 339 on teaching, 268 on counseling with children. From these results, we might conclude that many Korean-American mothers gave their children school related care.

본 논문은 한 중 일 3개국에 널리 알려져 있는 고전문학<삼국지> 소재로 제작된 만화에 나타나는 캐릭터비교 연구이다. 캐릭터는 언어적 의미를 시각화해서 전달하는 감성적이고 효과적인 표현 전달 방법이다. 또한 만화 캐릭터는 시각적인 조형으로 만화속의 스토리를 이어나가는 핵심적인 요소이며, 고전 문학을 원형으로 하는 캐릭터는 문화원형의 속성을 지니며 그 원형이 지니고 있는 문화적 특징도 시각화하여 커뮤니케이션 대상에게 재미와 정보를 제공해준다. 고전문학<삼국지>를 원형으로 제작된 만화에 등장하는 캐릭터디자인에 대한 비교를 통해 알 수 있는바 3개국 캐릭터디자인특징은 3개국 문화 속에서 원인을 찾아 볼 수 있고, 자국 문화콘텐츠에서부터 출발해, 주변 국가 문화콘텐츠의 영향과 더불어, 시대적 트렌드에 알맞은 디자인접근 방식을 보여주고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

This study investigated the food life of 271 Korean American hoursewives residing in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. The objectives of this survey were to describe the food life of Koreans and to identify any demographic factors related to the food life. Most of the respondents(80.4%) considered dinner as the most important meal of the day and 97.4% preferred Korean foods for their dinner. More than half percents (54%) preferred to go out to eat at Korean restaurants. While 14.4% of the respondents reported always buying Kimchee, 47.2% of the subjects reported making their own Kimchee regularly. Although several studies showed that the food life are likely to occur spontaneously and to change constantly, most of the Korean Americans in this study appeared conservative in their food life. This study is expected to provide a baseline for a culturally specific nutrition program that would recommend immigrants to practice positive food life and nutrition behaviors. A more study about the effects of immigration on dietary patterns and diseases as well as other nutritional status would be needed.

컴퓨터 그래픽의 발달로 3D 애니메이션은 시각적 리얼리티와 화려한 영상미로 애니메이션 특유의 비현실적인 상황과 허구적 캐릭터가 주는 재미를 관객에게 전한다. 특히 캐릭터의 얼굴 표정은 관객과의 감정 소통과 의사전달에 중요한 정보로서 디테일한 연기를 필요로 한다. 이에 3D 애니메이션 캐릭터의 경우 페이셜에 다양한 기능들이 요구되며, 일반적인 블렌드 쉐입과 클러스터 외에도 만화적 표현을 위한 다양한 기술들이 사용된다. 기존의 공정 과정에는 한 페이셜에 이러한 모든 기능들이 접목되어 복잡하며 까다로운 페이셜 리깅 공정이 이뤄진다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 공정들에서 한정되게 사용되었던 블렌드 쉐입을 이용하여 다양한 기능들을 타겟팅하는 레이어 방식을 통해 효율적인 페이셜 리깅 공정을 연구하고자 한다.

프로그래밍 교육이 초 중 고교에서 의무화될 예정인 가운데 코딩을 쉽고 재미있게 배우기 위한 교육 개발의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유아용 프로그래밍 교육 도구인 '큐베토'를 모티브로 하여 창의력, 상상력에 과학기술이 더해진 창의적 융합인재교육에 접목한 에듀테인먼트를 기반으로 한 STEAM 게임 콘텐츠 제작의 프로토타입을 제안한다. 제안된 STEAM 게임 콘텐츠는 유아의 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 출판물 동화를 활용하여 길을 찾아 모험을 떠나는 스토리 전개와 캐릭터를 제작하고 이를 통해서 유아의 창의적 융합인재교육에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

일반에게 공정한 입장에서 소비자와 커뮤니케이션을 실행하는 수단으로서 "일본농약학회, 지방자치단체, 내각부 식품안전위원회나 농림수산성, 후생노동성 등의 공적기관, 농약공업회나 전국농약협동조합 등 임의단체, 전국농업협동조합이나 전국 판매상 등의 유통업자 등이 실시하는 농약의 안전 사용자 안전 등에 관한 세미나 강습회, 소비자의 간담회", "학회나 농약연구자, 과학리더에 의한 계몽서의 출판, 학회나 업자 단체에 의한 Q&A집의 학회지 게재나 배포". "각종 학회나 공적기관의 홈페이지 계몽 해설문제의 게재", "농약제조 메이커나 임의단체에 의한 인터넷을 통한 메일 잡지 배송", "신문(전국지)를 매개로 한 홍보활동" 등을 들 수 있다. 최근에는 대학에 있어서도 일반사회인(소비자 포함)을 대상으로 한 농약이나 각종 화학물질의 안전성에 관한 공개강좌가 개설되어 있다. 한편 공정한 입장서 농약에 대해서 올바르게 전달한다는 개념에서 출발하지만, 결국엔 상업적 측면이 강한 "재미있고 우습게, 농약이 가지는 잠재적 위험성을 일부러 강조하고, 때로는 과학적 사실과 다른 내용을 의도적 또는 비의도적으로 전달하여 시청자나 독자의 관심을 끌어 시청률이나 발행부수를 신장시키는 것을 목적으로 하는 각종 매스컴으로부터의 막대한 양의 정보발신(모든 매스컴이 해당하는 것은 아님)이 있다. 더욱이 인터넷 사이트에는 종교적 측면이 강한 단체를 포함, 농약의 위험성을 강조하는 일이 있으며 온갖 정보가 넘쳐나고 있다. 물론 공적기관을 포함, 농약의 유용성과 잠재적 위험성에 대하여 공정하고 객관적 입장에서 인터넷을 소개한 정보 발신도 행해지고 있다. "농약은 나쁘고 위험하다"라는 정보로는 센세이셔날 한 상품가치(매스컴측의 보도 메리트)가 있지만 "농약은 안전하고 문제없다"로는 상품가치가 없다고 하는 상업 저널리즘을 드러낸다. "양적으로 압도적인 매스컴 보도"를 뛰어넘어 소비자에게 올바른 정보를 전달, 이해시키는 것은 가능하지 않을까. 다음으로 농약에 관한 리스크커뮤니케이션 수법에 대한 유의점과 과제를 기술한다.

This study explored how Korean immigrants education, length of stay and English fluency affect their political socialization, mediated through traditional news media and the news Web use. Political socialization included political knowledge, interest, and participation. The media usage patterns included U.S. news media, U.S. news Web, Korean news Web, and Korean news Media use by Korean immigrants in the United State. This study found as follows. First, education, length of stay, and English fluency indirectly increased political socialization(political knowledge, interest, and participation) through their relationship with U.S. news media use. Second, U.S. news Web played a potentially important role in Korean immigrants' political socialization by increasing their political interest. Third, Korean news media partly contributed to Korean immigrants' political socialization by increasing their political interest. Fourth, Korean news Web use did not contribute to Korean immigrants' political socialization in terms of political knowledge, interest, and participation at all. In conclusion, this study found that traditional news media's role was more important than news Web's one in the process of immigrants' political socialization to the host society.
