Red tide occurred sporadically in early 90s. But It is happening extensively by global warming. So, Airline observation, Red tide buoy development, and Red tide alarm system research is progressing for monitor ring. However, study to early forecast red tide and red tide alarm system did not exist hard. This paper proposed development that design and implementation red tide database of using wireless sensor network. There are GPS, Water Temperature sensor, Oxygen sensor, and Turbidity sensor in each node. And data is stored to red tide database through Ad-hoc network. This data is integrated and analyzed. So, forecast red tide. And red tide database has red tide data that happen at past. This is utilized to comparative analysis data for red tide estimate. Main screen displays position of node and measured value in electron map. Much studies must be backed for this a study. But I think that contribute to analyze red tide data by red tide database construction.
Currently, there are many studies being conducted around the world to reduce exposure dose to radiation for patients to receive medical treatments in a safe environment. We developed and fabricated of this shield that the patients are protected from the radiation and are need of safety control during breast imaging. In this study, for breast imaging, GE Senography 2000D were used and set at SID 65cm, 28kVp, and 63mAs. The measuring instrument was Fluke's Victoreen 6000-529. And we performed Face Block on with 30 patients. The chamber on the actual thyroid glands to take CC and MLO and measure the dosage before and after wearing the Face Block. For the results, after wearing the Face Block, exposure was decreased by 53.8%-100% and 65.8% in average in CC View and by 50%-100% and 60.7% in average in MLO View. The development of the Face Block that practically decreased the exposure dose of thyroid glands, crystalline eyes during breast imaging and reduced the patients' anxiety during breast imaging. The Face Block is expected to improve patients' satisfaction and contribute to reducing patients' exposure dose, but more efforts should be made to reduce exposure dose to medical radiation.
A field soil highly contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons (JP-8 and diesel fuels) was employed for its remediation by a lab-scale thermal desorption process. The soil was collected in the vicinity of an underground storage tank in a closed military base and its contamination level was as high as 4,476 ppm as total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH). A lab scale directly-heated low temperature thermal desorption (LTTD) system of 10-L capacity was developed and operated for the thermal treatment of TPH contaminated soils in this study. The desired operation temperature was found to be approximately $200-300^{\circ}C$ from the thermal gravimetric analysis of the contaminated field soils. The removal efficiencies higher than 90% were achieved by the LTTD treatment at $200^{\circ}C$ for 10 min as well as at $300^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. As the water content in the soils increased and therefore they were likely to be present as lumps, the removal efficiency noticeably decreased, indicating that a pre-treatment such as field drying should be required. The analysis of physical and chemical properties of soils before and after the LTTD treatment demonstrated that no significant changes occurred during the thermal treatment, supporting no needs for additional post-treatments for the soils treated by LTTD. The results presented in this study are expected to provide useful information for the field application and verification of LTTD for the highly contaminated geo-environment.
With recent advances in sensor technology, CMOS-based semiconductor devices and networking protocol, the areas for application of wireless sensor networks greatly expanded and diversified. Such diversification of uses for wireless sensor networks creates a multitude of beneficial possibilities for several industries. In the application of wireless sensor networks for monitoring systems' data transmission process from the sensor node to the sink node, transmission through multi-hop paths have been used. Also mobile sink techniques have been applied. However, high energy costs, unbalanced energy consumption of nodes and time gaps between the measured data values and the actual value have created a need for advancement. Therefore, this thesis proposes a new model which alleviates these problems. To reduce the communication costs due to frequent data exchange, a State Prediction Model has been developed to predict the situation of the peripheral node using a geographic autocorrelation of sensor nodes constituting the wireless sensor networks. Also, a Risk Analysis Model has developed to quickly alert the monitoring system of any fatal abnormalities when they occur. Simulation results have shown, in the case of applying the State Prediction Model, errors were smaller than otherwise. When the Risk Analysis Model is applied, the data transfer latency was reduced. The results of this study are expected to be utilized in any efficient communication method for wireless sensor network monitoring systems where all nodes are able to identify their geographic location.

This study focused to evaluate thermal transmittance(U-value) performance of sliding type of aluminum alloy window frame(AAWF) with double glazing(DG) and glazing spacer and that without thermal breaker in winter and summer season by two dimensional steady state heat transfer analysis. The AAWE was installed to an existing educational facilities in Seosan area which is the southern region of the Korean Peninsula. Analysis of 2D steady-state heat transfer was performed through the use of BISCO as calculation and simulation program. U-value and temperature factors were calculated. The results are as followed. First, the isotherm simulation shows that AAWF with double glazing have serious differences from recently proposed window thermal performance standards such as Insulation Performance of Windows and Doors of Building Energy Saving Design Standards and the results of calculation of thermal transmittance performance of AAWF and DG are U=9.631 W/$m^2K$, U=2.382 W/$m^2K$ respectively during winter and summer season. Second, the results of analysis of heat transfer analysis, calculated by simulation, shows that 225% of heat is lost comparing with thermal performance standards U=4.0 W/$m^2K$ of general double glazing among those standards on AAWF without thermal breaker.
In this paper, we describe our experience in the design and implementation of the SMART file system to handle multimedia workload. Our work has three design objectives: (ⅰ) efficient support for sequential workload, (ⅱ) avoiding disk fragmentation, (ⅲ) logical unit based file access. To achieve these three objectives, we develop a file system where a file consists of linked list of Data Unit Group. Instead of tree like structure of the legacy Unix file system, we use single level file structure. Our file system can also access the file based upon the logical unit which can be video frame or audio samples. Data Unit Group is a group of logical data units which is allocated continuous disk blocks. At the beginning of each Data Unit Group, there exists an index array. Each index points to the beginning of logical data units, e.g. frames in the Data Unit Group. This index array enables the random access and sequencial access of semantic data units. SMART file system is elaborately tailored to effectively support multimedia workload. We perform physical experiments and compare the performance of SMART file system with EXT2 file system and SGI XFS file system. In this experiment, SMART file system exhibits superior performance under streaming workload.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between the amount of cuspal deflection and linear polymerization shrinkage in resin composite and polyacid modified resin composite, For cuspal defelction and shrinkage measurement, Dyract AP, Compoglass F, Z100, Surefil. Pyramid, Synergy Compact, Heliomolar and Heliomolar HB were used. For measuring polymerization shrinkage, a custom made linometer (R&B, Daejon, Korea) was used The amount of shrinkage among materials was compared using One-way ANOVA analysis and Tukey's test at the $95\%$ of confidence level For measuring cuspal deflection of teeth, standardized MOD cavities were prepared in extracted maxillary premolars. After a self-etching adhesive was applied, cavities were bulk filled with one of the felling materials. Fifteen teeth were used for each material. Cuspal deflection was measured by a custom made cuspal-deflection measuring device. One-way ANOVA analysis and Tukey's test were used to determine differences between the materials at the $95\%$ of confidence level, Correlation of polymerization shrinkage and cuspal deflection were analyzed by regression analysis. The amount of polymerization shrinkage from least to greatest was Heliomolar, Surefil < Heliomolar HB < Z100, Synergy Compact < Dyract AP < Pyramid, Compoglass F (p<0.05). The amount of cuspal deflection from least to greatest was Z100, Heliomolar, Heliomolar HB, Synergy Compact Surefil < Compoglass F < Pyramid, Dyract AP (p < 0.05). The amount of polymerization shrinkage and cuspal deflection showed a correlation (p<0.001).

This paper presents a hybrid control strategy for seismic protection of a benchmark cable-stayed bridge, which is provided as a testbed structure for the development of strategies for the control of cable-stayed bridges. This benchmark problem considers the cable-stayed bridge that is scheduled for completion in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA in 2003. Seismic considerations were strongly considered in the design of this bridge due to the location of the bridge in the New Madrid seismic zone and its critical role as a principal crossing of the Mississippi river. Based on detailed drawings of this cable-stayed bridge, a three-dimensional linearlized evaluation model has been developed to represent the complex behavior of the bridge. A set of eighteen evaluation criteria has been developed to evaluate the capabilities of each control strategy. In this study, a hybrid control system is composed of a passive control system to reduce the earthquake-induced forces in the structure and an active control system to further reduce the bridge responses, especially deck displacements. Conventional base isolation devices such as lead rubber bearings are used for the passive control design and Bouc-Wen model is used to simulate the nonlinear behavior of these devices For the active control design, ideal hydraulic actuators are used and on $H_2$/LQG control algorithm is adopted. Numerical simulation results show that the performance of the proposed hybrid control strategy is quite effective compared to that of the passive control strategy and slightly better than that of the active control strategy. The hybrid control method is also more reliable than the fully active control method due to the passive control part. Therefore, the proposed hybrid control strategy can effectively be used to seismically excited cable-stayed bridges.

A floating photovoltaic generation system is a new concept that combines existing photovoltaic generation technology with floating technology. This is installed in the water not on conventional land and a building. The system is designed as a unit module type that can be connected to other modules according to the power generation capacity, thereby forming a large-scale power generation facility. As a renewable energy source, it is composed of a floating structure, mooring device, photovoltaic power generation facility, and underwater cable. Because this system is installed outdoors, the effect of the wind load on the structure is very large. In this study, the wind loads most affected on the floating photovoltaic generation structure were obtained by computational fluid dynamic analysis. The flow characteristics and wind loads were analyzed for a range of wind orientations and angles of inclination. The analysis showed the position and magnitude of the maximum wind load to the wind direction and the flow characteristics around the solar panel and floating system. The wind load increased with increasing angle of inclination of the panel to the ground.

In this paper, a Raman spectrometer is designed to detect chemicals contaminating the ground. The system is based on Raman spectroscopy, which is spectral analysis of scattered light from chemicals, induced by a laser. The system consists of a transmitting-optics module with a laser to induce Raman-scattered light from the sample, a receiving-optics module to collect the scattered light, and a spectrograph to separate the collected light into a wavelength spectrum. The telescope, a part of the receiving-optics module, is designed to produce a focal spot in the same position for variable measurement distances using the code V simulator, considering the distance change between the system and the road. The Raman spectra of 12 chemicals on a glass surface and on a concrete sample were measured. Intensity differences between the Raman spectra acquired on a glass surface and on a concrete sample were observed, but the characteristics of the spectra according to the chemicals on them were similar. Additionally, the Raman spectrum of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) was measured at various distances. The measured and simulated optical throughputs were similar. In conclusion, it is confirmed that with this system the Raman spectrum can be measured, irrespective of the distance change.
