This paper examines why older wage workers leave their jobs and what determine the hazard of retirement. Major results are as follows. First, aged workers leaving their jobs because of formal mandatory retirement are relatively few in number and largely males employed in large establishments. Second, a higher hourly wage is associated with a greater retirement hazard, especially among male employees of large firms. Third, informal mandatory retirement puts a strong pressure towards retirement among older female workers. Fourth, poor health is the primary reason for retirement among older workers, especially for females and small-firm employees. Finally, reasonable hours and greater flexibility of work tend to lower retirement hazard. We discuss some implications of the results for old-age labor market policies.

This study examined the economic burden of middle age householders supporting their family. They could not prepare for their later life because they are supporting their parents and children in their unstable employment. This study examined how to decrease the burden of middle age householders. Using the Korea Welfare Panel Study, this study analyzed data by hierarchical regression. The result showed that age, gender, education, unemployed, ownership of the house, number of employees, monthly income, and family relationship satisfaction had an effect on the economic burden of support by middle age householders. Based on the result, the researchers offered political suggestions for decreasing the levels of economic burden of support by middle age householders.
We examine the effects of the self-reported subjective and the objective health indexes on work compensations. The compensations consist of monetary factors, such as wages, and non-monetary factors reflecting job risks such as the workplace accidence. The wages and workplace injuries are clearly affected by gender and age differences as the subjective and objective health factors of elderly workers are combined with physical and systematic work environments. Mental health problems such as work depression are more serious especially for high income elderly groups. The elderly workers experienced with physical problems and chronic illnesses are led to the decrease in wages and the increase in safety accident risks at work sharply. Therefore, we need to provide supporting services, retirement planning designed by companies, supported by the government enhanced risk working conditions and the weakness on protecting jobs.

For this study, a survey was conducted on 192 middle-aged and older people aged 40 to 64 living in area G. The collected data were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS 27 program. The analysis methods in this study included frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test for post-hoc analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, digital literacy competency has a significant positive impact on the life satisfaction of middle-aged and older adults; as their digital literacy skills improve, their life satisfaction increases. Second, digital literacy competency varies based on gender, education level, employment status, and average monthly income, influencing their engagement in activities such as study or work. Additionally, higher levels of digital literacy competency, as determined by the highest level of education, positively affect life satisfaction, leisure activities, and cultural life.
This Study aimed at finding the new-aging support policy in local government through establishing the role of the 50 Plus Center. The results showed that the new seniors had higher social participation needs than the old seniors. But existing institutions like Senior Center were lacking such a role. Therefore, 50 Plus Center that is the first public institution to retired citizens of Seoul should focus on Life Design Education and Community Involvement Education.

With the aging of the population and the slowdown of the job market, elderly workers make up a large portion of the construction workforce. Also, due to the nature of the construction industry, where outdoor work is frequent, the weather has a more sensitive impact on elderly workers than on younger ones. The study aims to analyze the degree of weather risks exposed to elderly workers in the construction industry using the measure of work loss days. To that end, construction accidents that affected 28,514 elderly workers in seven cities from 2012 to 2016 (a total of 12,789 days) were analyzed to calculate work loss days per different weather factors. The results show that the elderly workers were seriously affected when the temperature was between $-12^{\circ}C$ and $-10^{\circ}C$, humidity between 55% and 60%, precipitation between 128mm and 181mm, and wind speed between 5.5m/s and 6.5m/s, with the highest work loss days. The combined effects between the weather factors were also analyzed to identify the conditiosn that leaded to high work loss days of elderly workers. This study contributes to effective safety management and pleasant working environment between weather factors and shedding light on the relationship between weather factors and work loss days of elderly workers.
The purpose of this study is to compare oral hygiene status between young adult group and older adult group and to suggest a pathway model of oral health level in self-assessed. Subjects were totally 80 people with young adult group and the older adult group. The data, which was collected by surveying for one month from July 1, 2010 to July 30, was analyzed with SPSS VERSION 19.0 and AMOS 19.0. Oral hygiene test and questionnaire survey were carried out from targeting. 1. The young adult group and older adult group had the same quality in oral health level score and living habit. 2. The oral hygiene status in young adult and older adult group was same in 7 items(58.33%) out of 12 items. 3. Oral health level score in self-assessed of young adult group could be explained with 34% by 3 variables. Older adult group could be explained with 26% by 2 variables. 4. In young adult, the fitness of path model was very good with 0.96 in CFI, 0.94 in TLI, and 0.00 in RMSEA. In older adults, the fitness of path model was very good with 1.00 in CFI, 1.15 in TLI, and 0.00 in RMSEA. This might imply if TMJ disorder level and number of infection is neglected in young aldults, mastication function will be significantly effected in older adults. Thus, development and management of health education program is needed based on self-assessment oral health level by young adults group and older adults group.

The proportion of elderly people over 50 years old in the total population of Korea increased from 29.2% in 2010 to 34.8% in 2015. As a result, the proportion of construction workers over 50 years old compared to the total construction workers increased from 20.1% in 2010 to 27.0% in 2015. In this aging society, the construction industry has faithfully carried out the business objectives and budget execution of measures to prevent disasters against elderly workers, but there was a limit to the fundamental prevention of disasters. Because the countermeasures for the prevention of construction disaster are considered on all ages rather than elderly workers. This study investigates the safety and health status of elderly workers at construction sites and suggests the plans to reduce disaster. In particular, to reduce disasters of rapidly growing elderly workers, the authors reviewed the related literature and safety regulations, statistics on the causes of industrial accidents, statistics on the status of industrial accidents, and applied to 3,549 workers who participated directly in the construction activities. The authors surveyed the actual situation of safety and health, presented the comprehensive disaster reduction measures by analyzing the current status and problems of disaster prevention projects. If the countermeasures proposed in this paper can be reflected in the actual policy, it is expected that the countermeasures will be possible to reduce the disaster of the elderly workers at the construction site, which is gradually increasing.
As the use of computers and internet service has increased fast, various web-based coursewares for the educational purpose have been devoloped. However, the development of web-based coursewares for old-aged adults is far from satisfactory. Since most existing web-based coursewares are designed for the youth, they are not proper for old aged people to use confidently. In this paper, we analyse psychological, social and physical characteristics of old aged adults and propose the starategy for designing web based coursewares for them. Then, We apply the design strategy to develop the web-based courseware in Excel subject and analyse the effect of the design strategy by means of questioning and answring.
