The Morphological Changes of Cryopreserved Rat Trachea After Heterotopic Transplantation (쥐의 초냉동기관 이소 이식 후 형태학적 변화)

  • The best treatment of congenital or acquired tracheal stenosis is resection and end to end anastomosis. Various prosthetic material and tissue graft replacement can be considered when the stenotic segment is too long, but their uses are still limited due to many serious complications. The present study examined the effect of immunosuppression and cryopreserved allograft trachea after intraperitoneal omental implantation for evaluation of the possibility of tracheal transplantation. Thirty tracheal segments were harvested from fifteen donor Wistar rats. Among them eighteen segments were implanted immediately(group I, II, III) and twelve segments were used for cryopreservation(group IV, V). Heterotopical intraperitoneal implantation was performed in five groups of rats(n=6); Group I was Wistar syngeneic controls and received no immunosuppression. Group II and III were those of Sprague-Dawley recipients, the former receiving no immunosuppression and the latter receiving immunosuppression(Cyclosporin A 15mg/kg/day, Methylprednisolone 2mg/kg/day). Group IV and V were groups of Sprague-Dawley recipients, the former receiving immunosuppression and the latter receiving no Immunosuppression. After 28 days, rats were sacrificed and the tracheal segments were histologically evaluated. Epithelial thickness was significantly decreased in group II, IV. Epithelial regeneration score was also significantly decreased in II. All rats maintained well their round tracheal contour. In conclusion; I) trachea could be preserved for a long time with cryo method, 2) epithelium could regenerate fully with omentopexy in cryopreserved trachea, 3) immunosuppresion was not necessary with cryopreserved trachea.

Comparison of the Effectiveness of University of Wisconsin and Histidine-Tryptophan Ketoglutarate Solution on Renal Cold Preservation in the Miniature Pig (미니돼지에서 University of Wisconsin 용액과 Histidine-Tryptophan Ketoglutarate 용액의 신장 저온보존효과 비교)

  • For human organ transplantations, histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate solution (HTKS) and University of Wisconsin solution (UWS) have been shown to engender similar outcomes as gold standard cold preservation solutions ($4^{\circ}C$). To select the effective preservation solution for cold storage of kidney xenografts in miniature pig, which could be a potential source animal of bio-organs, this study compared early histopathological outcomes of cold preservation injury using HTKS and UWS. Twelve miniature pigs weighing 25.6 to 34.7 kg were divided into two groups (n = 6 per group), UWS group and HTKS group. The kidneys in each group were harvested, cold flushed, and preserved for 0, 24, 48, and 72 hrs at $4^{\circ}C$ with UWS or HTKS, respectively. Histolopathological examinations were assessed on kidney biopsy specimens, taken after each cold storage. The degree of renal injury was scored using 5 different criteria (pyknotic nuclei, disruption of cytoplasm, detachment of epithelium, loss of microvilli, tubular necrosis and loss of glomerular tufts) of the cellular components of the tissue. The degree of kidney damage was increased with prolonged cold ischemia time. UWS and HTKS have at least similar efficacy in kidney preservation within 24 hrs cold preservation time. However, in HTKS group cold-induced injury started to be observed more than in UWS group after 48 hrs of cold storage. In conclusion, UWS and HTKS were equally effective for cold preservation of miniature pig kidney in early preservation times; however, UWS may be more effective at longer preservation times as compared to HTKS.

  • 혼합형 고체추진제에 대한 장기물성 변화 및 노화특성을 고찰하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 CTPB와 HTPB를 바인더로 한 두 종류의 추진제에 대하여 기계적 특성 시험에 의한 추진제 장기물성 변화와 온도 변화에 따른 추진제의 화학적 노화특성을 확인하여 두 추진제의 장기 저장시 안정성에의 영향을 고찰하였다. 장기물성 평가를 위해 추진제의 응력완화 시험, 온도 및 속도변화에 따른 일축 인장시험, 하중.변형 내구성 시험을 실시하였고, 2$0^{\circ}C$, 4$0^{\circ}C$, 6$0^{\circ}C$에서 32주 동안 보관하면서 노화 시험을 실시하였다.

Development of Preservation Prediction Chart for Long Term Storage of Fermented Cucumber (발효오이의 산패예견표의 개발)

  • Off-flavors and odors in fermented cucumbers result from the growth of undesirable microorganisms during the secondary fermentation. Under laboratory conditions using a sterile fermented cucumber slurry medium, the spoilage fermentations were reproduced. Using this system the salt and pH conditions that allow the spoilage to occur were determined by varying the NaCl concentration and pH of the slurry medium. At pH 3, no spoilage was observed, regardless of the salt concentration, while at pH 3.5, pH 4, and pH 4.5, spoilage occurred in the 0 and 2% NaCl samples. For pH 5.0 samples, spoilage products were seen for all NaCl treatments. Based on these results the Preservation Prediction Chart was developed. The Chart may be used for selection of proper pH value and salt concentration for long term storage of fermented cucumber.

  • 현재 3세대 원자로의 엄청난 건설 비용과 사용후핵연료를 재처리 하지 못하고 폐기물로 보관 처리함에 따라 장기간의 지속적 가동이 불가능한 일회성 연료 사이클 때문에 원자력 발전 업계는 4세대 고속로 시대로 진입할 수밖에 없을 것인데 현재 개발중인 SMR 과 HTGR 타입의 두 원자로가 그 대안이 될 것이다.

  • 첫 평론집 "비순수의 선언"은 2천부를 찍었는데 전혀 나가지가 않았다. 그래도 신구문화사쪽에서는 덤핑처리를 하지 않고 계속 창고에 보관해 두었으니 고맙기 이를 데 없다. 20년이 훨씬 지나서 '북페어'란 것을 할 때 한권 샀다는 얘기를 신문사에 있는 조우석씨에게 들은 적이 있는데 이쯤되면 장기판매로서는 기록이 아닐까 한다.
