Changes of Mechanical Properties by a Long Term Operation in STACIR/AW Conductor (STACIR/AW 송전선의 장시간 운전에 따른 기계적 물성 변화)

  • ACSR전력선의 송전용량 증가를 위해 개발된 중용량저이도 송전선인 STACIR/AW(Super Thermal-resistant Aluminum alloy Conductors, aluminum-clad Invar-Reinforced)전선은 초내열 Al도체 및 인바강선의 사용으로 비교적 고온에서의 안정적 운전이 가능하다. 그러나 고온 환경에서 장시간 노출된 STAClR/AW전선의 안정적 관리를 위해서는, 열화 된 STACIR/AW 전선의 인장강도, 각 구성소재의 탄성계수, 비틀림 계수 등과 같은 기계적 물성이 장기 운전 모의를 위해 선정된 열화온도, 열화시간 등에 대해 종합적으로 평가될 필요가 있다. 또한 크립 등과 같이 고온응력 부하상태에서의 변형거동과 탄성계수 및 선팽창계수의 온도의존성 등은 전선의 이도관리와 예측을 위해서도 명확히 규명되어야할 중요한 관리 인자이다. 그러나 현재까지는 이들에 대해 수행한 어떠한 연구결과들도 보고 되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 STACIR/AW $410mm^2$ 송전선을 장시간 운전의 모의를 위해 가속열화 시키고 가속열화에 따른 STACIR/AW 전선 및 그 구성소재의 강도, 비틀림 특성의 변화를 조사하여 장시간 운전에 따른 STACIR/AW전선의 안정성을 평가하여 보고하고자 하였다.

Behavior Analysis of Particle Crushing about Sabkha Layer under Hydrotest (Sabkha층의 Hydrotest 시 입자파쇄 거동분석)

  • Carbonate sands can be crushed under low confining pressure to achieve high compressibility. So particle crushing has significant influence on characteristics of strength and deformation. Trial embankment and hydrotest are conducted on Sabkha layer, consisting of carbonate sand to build tank structure. In this paper the settlement behavior was analyzed from each test. Particle crushing happened from 80 to 170kPa stress under compression test, and calcium was detected from chemical test. The test result came out Sabkha soil was very weak and easy to be crushing. About trial embankment test, particle crushing was not happen, and then extinction of pore water pressure and settlements were finished just during 2 days. On the other hand, the long-term settlement was happened in hydrotest. So the two test results did not correspond to each other. If loading stress is higher than yielding stress, instant settlement and secondary compression settlement are happened as a result of the particle crushing.

Characteristics of Sediment Transport under External Force in Haeundae Beach (해운대 해빈에서 특정 외력하의 표사이동 특성)

  • The width of Haeundae beach has been decreasing annually due to the loss of sand from land, high waves, reflected waves, etc.. The accurate prediction of wave-induced currents is indispensible to analyze the beach deformation due to the sediment transport. In the this study, Numerical experiments were performed with seasonal representative wave on the basis of a long term and comprehensive survey data. In summer, we found the deposition of Mipo by longshore current eastly by ordinary and S waves, and in winter, the deposition of Dongback-island by longshore current westly by ordinary and E waves. In addition, rip current occurs in the middle of Haeundae beach by 50 year return period wave and current westly along the coast by ESE directional wave.

A Study on Rheological Behavior of Korean Straight Asphalts (국내 스트레이트 아스팔트의 거동 특성 연구)

  • This study was based on the evaluation of 9 asphalts that were produced in five major Korean refineries. The study was concentrated to identify the problems of the current asphalt specification (KS M 2201) and to determine the ranges of visco-elastic asphalt behavior. As a conventional asphalt property. asphalt penetration, ring and ball(R&B) softening point, asphalt viscosity, and flash point of asphalt were measured. Also Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) were used to evaluate visco-elastic properties of asphalts in the $-20^{\circ}C$ through $30^{\circ}C$ temperature range. These properties before and after the short-term (RTFO) and long-term (PAV) aging were compared and analyzed to achieve the research objectives. The conclusion from this study can be summarized by the followings. The low temperature rheological behavior of all the straight asphalt from five major Korean refineries is similar regardless of asphalt grade. In the mean while, the rheological behavior at high and intermediate temperature of Korean straight asphalt varies depending on asphalt grade.

  • Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors are currently the most prevalent sensors because of their unique advantages such as ease of multiplexing and capability of performing absolute measurements. They are applied to various structures for structural health monitoring (SHM). The signal characteristics of FBG sensors under thermal loading should be investigated to enhance the reliability of these sensors, because they are exposed to certain cyclic thermal loads due to temperature changes resulting from change of seasons, when they are applied to structures for SHM. In this study, tests on specimens are conducted in a thermal chamber with temperature changes from -$20^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$ for 300 cycles. For the specimens, two types of base materials and adhesives that are normally used in the manufacture of packaged FBG sensors are selected. From the test results, it is confirmed that the FBG sensors undergo some degree of compressive strain under cyclic thermal load; this can lead to measurement errors. Hence, a pre-calibration is necessary before applying these sensors to structures for long-term SHM.

Flexural Performance of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Recycled Aggregates Suffering from Sustained Load (지속하중을 경험한 철근콘크리트 보의 골재 종류에 따른 휨거동 특성)

  • This paper presents results of an experimental study designed to investigate the effect of sustained load on the flexural performance of reinforced recycled aggregate concrete beams. In this experimental program, three beams with recycled aggregate replacement percentages(natural 100%, recycled coarse aggregate 100%, recycled fine aggregate 50%) were tested up to failure after sustained loading($0.5M_n$) for one year. The experimental results showed that reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregate(water absorption : 1.86~3.64%) concrete showed the same flexural performance as that of natural aggregate concrete beam. Current the ACI code underestimated experimental obtained ultimate flexural strength of beams irrespective of usage of recycled aggregates.

  • 시계열 자료들을 분석하고자 하는 경우 자료가 정상성(stationarity)을 만족하는 경우는 드물다. 특히 계절성을 제거한 자료들에서는 정량화하기 어려운 주기성이 많이 관찰된다. 즉, 어떤 특정지역에서 나타나는 현상이 다른 기상 현상에 영향을 미칠 것은 자명한 일이나 그 관련성이 선형(linearity)일 가능성은 극히 드물다. 따라서 그들 사이의 관련성이 선형성에 근거한 지표들로 정량화되어야 한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 다양한 방법이 사용되며 그중에서 웨이블릿 분석을 통해 본 연구를 진행하였다. 웨이블릿 변환(wavelet transforms)은 특수한 함수의 집합으로 구성되어 기존 웨이블릿 신호의 분석을 위해 사용되는 방법이다. 이 변환은 푸리에 변환에서 변형된 방법으로 특정한 기저 함수(base function)를 이용하여 기존의 시계열 자료를 주파수로 바꾸는 변환이다. 웨이블릿 변환에서 기저 함수를 모 웨이블릿이라고 하며 이를 천이, 확대 및 축소 과정을 통해 주파수를 구성한다. 웨이블릿 분석은 모 웨이블릿을 분해하고 재결합하여 시계열 분석을 할 수 있다. 모 웨이블릿 함수에는 Haar, Daubechies, Coiflets, Symlets, Morlet, Mexican Hat, Meyer 등의 여러 가지 종류의 모 웨이블릿 함수가 있으며 모 웨이블릿이 달라지면 결과가 다르게 나타난다. 기존에는 Morlet 웨이블릿을 주로 이용하여 주파수분석에 사용하여 결과를 도출하였다. 그리고 시계열 자료는 크게 백색잡음(White Noise), 장기기억(Long Term Memory), 단기기억(Short Term Memory)으로 나뉜다. 각 시계열 자료의 종류에 따라 임의의 시계열 자료를 산정하여 그에 따른 웨이블릿 분석을 통해 모 웨이블릿의 특성을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서는 웨이블릿 분석을 통해 시계열 자료의 최적 모 웨이블릿을 결정하고자 남방진동지수(SOI), 북극진동지수(AOI)의 자료를 이용하여 웨이블릿 분석을 시도하였다. 웨이블릿 분석은 모 웨이블릿에 따라 달라지는 결과를 토대로 분석하였으며 이를 정상성과 지속성에 따라 분류된 시계열에 적용하여 최적 모 웨이블릿을 결정하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 시계열 자료에서 설정한 최적의 모 웨이블릿을 AOI와 SOI와 같은 실제 시계열 자료에 대입하여 분석을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 시계열 자료의 종류를 구분하고 자료의 특성에 따라 가장 적합한 모 웨이블릿을 구하고자 하였다.

RoutingConvNet: A Light-weight Speech Emotion Recognition Model Based on Bidirectional MFCC (RoutingConvNet: 양방향 MFCC 기반 경량 음성감정인식 모델)

  • In this study, we propose a new light-weight model RoutingConvNet with fewer parameters to improve the applicability and practicality of speech emotion recognition. To reduce the number of learnable parameters, the proposed model connects bidirectional MFCCs on a channel-by-channel basis to learn long-term emotion dependence and extract contextual features. A light-weight deep CNN is constructed for low-level feature extraction, and self-attention is used to obtain information about channel and spatial signals in speech signals. In addition, we apply dynamic routing to improve the accuracy and construct a model that is robust to feature variations. The proposed model shows parameter reduction and accuracy improvement in the overall experiments of speech emotion datasets (EMO-DB, RAVDESS, and IEMOCAP), achieving 87.86%, 83.44%, and 66.06% accuracy respectively with about 156,000 parameters. In this study, we proposed a metric to calculate the trade-off between the number of parameters and accuracy for performance evaluation against light-weight.

Comparison of Different Methods of Aortic Valve Conduit Xenograft Preservation in an Animal Experiment Model; Fresh Cryopreservation versus Acellularized Cryopreservation (동물 실험 모델에서 적용한 이종대동맥판막도관의 조직보존방법 비교; 신선 냉동보존과 무세포화 냉동보존)

  • Background: The commercially used vascular xenografts have some problems such as calcification, fibrosis and tissue degeneration that are associated with inflammatory and immunologic reactions. We compared two methods of xenograft preservation (fresh cryopreservation versus acellularized cryopreservation) of goat aorta. Material and Method: Aortic valved xenografts were harvested from adult pigs, and these were preserved using fresh cryopreservation (FC group, n=4) or acellularized crypreservation (AC group, n=4). These xenografts were implanted into adult goats. There were 2 short-term survivors (less than 100 days) and 2 long-term survivors in each group. These xenografts were explanted and they underwent microscopic examination. Result: The goats survived 31, 40, 107 and 411 days in the FC group and the other goats survived 5, 40, 363 and 636 days in the AC group. All the short-term survivors in each group expired because of rupture at the proximal anastomosis site. Marked neutrophil infiltration was observed in the FC group FC and lymphocytes were observed in the AC group. There were no differences in the occurrence of calcification, fibrosis and thrombosis among the groups. Conclusion: Some goats survived more than 100 days after the xenograft implantation irrespective of the methods of preservation. Because severe tissue degeneration developed in both groups, we think these methods are not appropriate for xenograft preservation of aorta. It was worth a preliminary trial for improving the preservation method or to modify the processing of xenografts.

Wetting-Induced Collapse in Fill Materials for Concrete Slab Track of High Speed Railway (고속철도 콘크리트궤도 흙쌓기재료의 Wetting Collapse에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the high speed railway comes into the spotlight as the important and convenient traffic infrastructure. In Korea, Kyung-Bu high speed train service began in bout 400 km section in 2004, and the Ho-Nam high speed railway will be constructed by 2017. The high speed train will run with a design maximum speed of 300-350 km/hr. Since the trains are operated at high speed, the differential settlement of subgrade under the rail is able to cause a fatal disaster. Therefore, the differential settlement of the embankment must be controlled with the greatest care. Furthermore, the characteristics and causes of settlements which occurred under construction and post-construction should be investigated. A considerable number of studies have been conducted on the settlement of the natural ground over the past several decades. But little attention has been given to the compression settlement of the embankment. The long-term settlement of compacted fills embankments is greatly influenced by the post-construction wetting. This is called 'hydro collapse' or 'wetting collapse'. In spite of little study for this wetting collapse problem, it has been recognized that the compressibility of compacted sands, gravels and rockfills exhibit low compressibility at low pressures, but there can be significant compression at high pressures due to grain crushing (Marachi et al. 1969, Nobari and Duncan 1972, Noorany et al. 1994, Houston et al. 1993, Wu 2004). The characteristics of compression of fill materials depend on a number of factors such as soil/rock type, as-compacted moisture, density, stress level and wetting condition. Because of the complexity of these factors, it is not easy to predict quantitatively the amount of compression without extensive tests. Therefore, in this research I carried out the wetting collapse tests, focusing on various soil/rock type, stress levels, wetting condition more closely.
