  • A conversational programming system for turning processes was studied to enhance the user friendlness of an NC by adopting man-machine interface functions through Visual C $^{++}$ programming tool under the Windows 95 environment. Shop floor programming performance was incorporated in the developed CAM module. In order to increase flexibility of the man-machine interface, graphic based programmin tool have been developed. An NC turning machine equipped whit an open architecture PCNC was used as a test bed of the system. Perfomance of the system was verified through case studies..

  • A conversational programming system for turning processes was studied to enhance the user friendliness of a NC Lathe by adopting man-machine interface functions through Delphi programming tool under the Windows 95 environment. Functions of tool collision checking were developed through zone limitation algorithms. Final shape of workpiece was generated by means of tree structure algorithm. Shop floor programming performance was incorporated in the developed CAM module. In order to increase flexibility of the man-machine interface, graphic based programming tools have been developed. A NC turning machine equipped with an open architecture PCNC was used as a test bed of the system. Performance of the system was verified through case studies.

  • This paper describes a development of conversational program for lathe. The proposed program is a NC programming system specialized for use in machine tool controls. Its easy to use graphic interface built-in database capabilities make it an ideal way to program part on the shop floor. In order to manage effectively machining process it proposed the algorithm of tree structures for design processing. Also using interative structure it proposed the methods of conversational programming to generate automatically NC program.

  • The robot calibration has greatly improved the absolute accuracy of the industrial robot. However, the accuracy of the relative positions of robotic tool-tip at work-points on a work-piece is only slightly corrected by the robot calibration since there has been no practical method to eliminate the elements of the setup position errors at a robotic workplace. A robotic workplace calibration is demonstrated in this paper to minimize the relative position errors between a robot tool-tip and the work-point on a work-piece. The existing teaching and playback method has been developed for the robotic workplace calibration. This paper uses the work-piece fixed in a robotic work-place as measurement equipment instead of a special robot measurement equipment for the robotic workplace calibration. The positive effect of the robotic workplace calibration is supported by the results of computer simulation on an ideal robotic workplace model and an experiment at the actual robotic workplace.

  • 본 논문은 금형의 마무리 연마 작업을 로봇을 이용하여 자동화하기 위한 오프라인 프로그래밍 시스템개발을 그 내용으로 하고있다. 3차원 자유곡면 형상을 갖는 금형을 연마하기 위한 로봇 작업 경로를 효율적으로 생성하기 위해서는 기존의 교시 방법이 아닌 CAD시스템과 연계된 시뮬레이션 방식의 자동 경로 생성 방법이 요구된다. 본 연구에서 개발된 금형 연마 작업을 위한 오프라인 프로그래밍 시스템은 연마 작업 시뮬레이션을 위한 기하학적 모델링 기능, 로봇의 작업 공간을 고려한 작업장 배치 기능, 연마 로봇의 효율적인 기구학 해, 3차원 그래픽 시뮬레이션, 3차원 물체간의 충돌 검사 기능 및 유기적인 관계형 데이타 베이스 기능 등으로 구성된다. 본 시스템의 시뮬레이션 결과를 로봇의 위치 보정 과정을 거쳐 로봇 작업 프로그램 으로 변환함으로써 최종적으로 실제 연마 작업이 가능한, 정확하고 안전한 로봇 프로그램을 생성하였다.

  • Based on the minimum cutting time criteria, the tool path generation algorithm of a pocket machining is developed as a form of a built-in cycle for the WOP(workshop oriented programming) of a CNC controller. Based on the given CAD database and tool information, an optimal cutting depth and geometric properties can be generated, then six different tool paths will be generated internally and automatically. Finally, the G code which commands tool movements is generated for CNC machining.

  • An Enhanced Shopfloor Oriented Programming(AESOP) system is developed as a programming utillity of the CNC turning machine. The developed system is specially designed to give a beginner the convenience for CNC part programming with graphical interaction between a machine operator and the AESOP system. The combination of process-oriented cycles and various contour programming as well as an immediate tool path verification support the easiness and swiftness of a part program generation in the shopfloor. Since the AESOP system has been designed to operate on the basis of MS-Windows in the PC-embedded CNC system, it is also useful for the training of the part programming by utilizing provailing personal computers in the educational department.
