A Study on the Vulnerability Assessment of Solar Power Generation Facilities Considering Disaster Information (재해정보를 고려한 태양광발전시설의 취약성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to develop an evaluation method for solar power facilities considering disaster impacts and to analyse the vulnerabilities of existing facilities. Haenam-gun in Jeollanam-do, where the reassessment of existing facilities is urgent, was selected as the study area. To evaluate the vulnerability from a more objective perspective, principal component analysis and entropy methods were utilised. Seven vulnerability assessment indicators were selected: maximum hourly rainfall, maximum wind speed, number of typhoon occurrence days, number of rainfall days lasting more than five days, maximum daily rainfall, impermeable area ratio, and population density. Among these, maximum hourly rainfall, maximum wind speed, maximum daily rainfall, and number of rainfall days lasting more than five days were found to have the highest weights. The overlay of the derived weights showed that the southeastern regions of Haenam-eup and Bukil-myeon were classified as Grade 1 and 2, whereas the northern regions of Hwawon-myeon, Sani-myeon, and Munnae-myeon were classified as Grade 4 and 5, indicating differences in vulnerability. Of the 2,133 facilities evaluated, 91.1% were classified as Grade 3 or higher, indicating a generally favourable condition. However, there were more Grade 1 facilities than Grade 2, highlighting the need for countermeasures. This study is significant in that it evaluates solar power facilities considering urban disaster resilience and is expected to be used as a basic resource for the installation of new facilities or the management and operation of existing ones.

  • Rolling stocks are often subjected to the effects of natural cross wind or train wind pressure due to the crossing train. These wind pressure cause the falling-off in running stability and turnover problem. It is sometimes reported that trains are blown over by a gust of wind in overseas. So, many countries enact regulations to secure the safety for wind speed. In this study, we analyzed the difference between the regulation for turnover safety of train which was enacted by Ministry of Land. Transport and Maritime Affairs and that based on the multi-body model. In case of multi-body model, it is assumed that the degrees of freedom for carbody and bogie are assigned an independent values respectively. The results show that the latter approach based on multi-body model can access the safety of turnover and replace the computational method which is accessing with lateral force, derailment coefficient and decrement of wheel load.

In this study, theoretical equations of overturn safety based on multi-body model are derived and analyzed the difference between the result of the solid model and that of multi-body model.   • This study conducted Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB), which is a type of field performance evaluation experiment of a zone smoke-control system, at a railway underground transit passage installed with a zone smoke- control system to find problems and improvements for ensuring performance. TAB for the smoke control system was classified into several procedures, such as design data review, duct leakage test, field measurement of the airflow rate, velocity of the fan and duct, and a smoke test. Through the duct leakage test, the system leakage ratio was examined to prove the duct sealing. The iImprovement of the smoke control airflow problems due to the lack of fan static pressure loss was the secured performance. The performance of the smoke control fan was secured by improvements of the smoke control airflow rate problems caused by the loss of static pressure in the intake duct. The smoke test in the smoke control zone confirmed that the damper operating schedule subject was influenced by natural wind or train wind.

The estimation of the wall friction coefficient in tunnels by in-situ measurement (현장측정을 통한 터널 내 벽면마찰계수 추정 연구)

  • In most of cases, the wall friction coefficients applied for local tunnel design are quoted directly from foreign data or local design guideline. In the previous studies, the wall friction coefficient was estimated using the velocity decay method. However, it is difficult to estimate the wall friction coefficient when the convergence wind velocity in the tunnel is negative (-) or if there is a change in the natural wind. Therefore, in this study, the wall friction coefficient is estimated by applying the dynamic simulation technique in addition to the conventional the velocity decay method. As a result of the analysis, the coefficient of wall friction in the tunnels for the total of 9 tunnels (18 tubes both directions) was 0.011~0.025, and the mean value was estimated to be 0.020. In addition, the wall friction coefficient obtained quantitatively through this study was compared with the current design criteria.

Measurement and Analysis of Free Water Evaporation at HaeNam Paddy Field (해남 농경지에서의 자유 수면 증발 관측과 해석)

  • Class A evaporation pan has been used throughout the world to measure free water evaporation mainly by manual observation once a day. In this study, a new automatic water level measurement method is used for understanding of free water evaporation and numerical analysis. This new technique measures the weight of buoyancy bar in water, and does not need calibration because it is not affected by water density change with water temperature. Field observations of evaporation were made near Haenam Meteorological Station over paddy field located in southwestern Korea from 20 April to 30 May 2004 and the data from ten clear days (16 - 25 May) were used for this analysis. The observed total evaporation was about 50.7mm during this period whereas the estimated from an empirical equation was 50.4mm. As expected, the pan evaporation is well correlated with wind speed and the vapor pressure deficit between the water surface and the air.

Optimal Location Analysis in terms of Efficiency for Solar Energy Facilities (효율성 측면에서 태양광 에너지 시설 최적입지에 관한 연구)

  • The following study was conducted to determine the optimal location in terms of efficiency for solar energy facilities, and to propose a policy implications for the orientation of the installments. 92 cases in Jeollanam-do Province were selected. A regression analysis was performed between the average electricity generation time as the dependent variable, and the facility, weather and site conditions as the independent variables. As a result, 5 variables were deemed significant. Larger site areas, closer proximity to rivers, islands, oceans, etc., least south-oriented, higher average wind speed, and facilities in agricultural land use and natural environment conservation land use had the highest efficiency. This study minimized the possibility of secure databases and errors following facility types, and was limited in the number of sites studied, since this was only conducted in Jeollanam-do Province. Nevertheless, these conclusions still offer important policy implications for determining the most optimal location for solar energy facilities.

Humors in Female Costumes Depicted in Genre Paintings in the Late Joseon Dynasty (조선후기 풍속화에 표현된 여성복식의 해학미)

  • In this dissertation, the analysis of the study of female customs from late Joseon Dynasty and their genre painting to research humors and its aesthetic senses in that certain era. The purpose of the genre paintings is to look at general populations in an objective point of view and endeavor better value of public life style to embody clear understandings of humanity. The artists such as Hong-Do Kim and Youn-Bok Shin expressed their arts based on reasonable reality with sarcastic but humorous and creative ways to criticize the society's problems with clear statements. Therefore, the formative characters are realism, exaggeration and coloring of the whole arts that represents as innovative and original genre of it's time. Hong-Do Kim and Youn-Bok Shin expressed the women in society as open minded with versatile and refined looks in their paintings as the reality was repressed and closed mind for women figures in late Joseon Dynasty. The female customs in the paintings has both suppression and expression in their dresses and exaggerated shapes of accessories and the use of color were also found. All of these elements has the aesthetic values of satirized eroticism, the hint of next evolution of the late Joseon Era under the conservative disposition of social characters and freedom of expression of playfulness. These elements were new developments and a step forward of female 'sex' and expression of satirized eroticism. The exaggerated and distorted forms and accessories demonstrates unbalanced and asymmetrical elements in humorous characters and they include spontaneity. Also, using the five traditional color schemes of Korean art displays humor in playfulness of an art with splendid and purity, duality of positiveness and artless, smart and elegance looks.

Analysis on the Pattern of Dragging Anchor in Actual Ship (실선 계측에 의한 주묘패턴 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Vessels on anchoring are frequently dragged due to the increased area of wind pressure by enlargement of ship's size and sudden gust of winds in recent years. In the view point of the ship's navigators, the proper measurements corresponding to the dragging of anchor should be taken into account concerned about the time for the occurring of dragging by the external forces such as wind and wave, the pattern and speed of dragging and the possibility of collisions with any other vessels or obstacles. In this paper, it was examined the actual dragging anchor in T.S. HANBADA due to the wind and waves. From this case, it was found the critical external forces by which she was begun to dragged comparing the force by the wind, frictional resistance, drifting force and ship motion moment with the holding power. Also, through the analysis of the dragging pattern, it was known the alteration range of heading angle, swinging width and dragging speed etc.

A Study on the Optimal Solar Power System for 10kW Wind Power in the Mokpo Seaside (목포해안지역의 10kW급 풍력과 최적의 태양광 복합발전시스템에 관한 연구)

  • As the interest in environmental pollution increases, the use of renewable energy is uprising. Among the renewable energy resources, wind and solar energy have no environmental impact and they can be used as unlimited resources. The two power systems are mutual supplementary systems. So the two systems are usually combined for generation. We have measured several data about wind and solar. These data can be used the foundation data for the construction of wind and solar power generation plants. Also we analyzed the possible optimal solar power system for 10[kW] wind power.
