  • This study was conducted to determine the influence of satisfaction, self-esteem, and depression on adjustment of elderly patients in long-term care hospitals. The subjects were 116 elderly patients in 15 long-term care hospitals in B and K city. Data were collected from February 14 to March 30, 2015, and analyzed by t-rest, ANOVA, Scheff's test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. According to the results, there were significant differences in adjustment by religion, marital status, economic status, and perceived level of difficult problems. Adjustment was positively related to satisfaction and self-esteem. In addition, a negative correlation was observed between adjustment and depression. Meaningful variables that influenced the adjustment of elderly patients were depression, satisfaction, self-esteem, and religion. These factors accounted for 53.5% of the total variance in adjustment of the elderly patients in long-term care hospitals, and depression was the most influential factor. In conclusion, development and implementation of effective programs and strategies to reduce depression and to increase satisfaction with care and self-esteem is needed in order to enhance the adjustment of elderly patients in long-term care hospitals.

The study sample consisted of 625 high school students in Seoul, Korea who completed a self-administered questionnaire. The data were analyzed using t-tests, correlations, and hierarchical regression analysis. The main findings were as follows. First, the level of interpersonal competence differed by gender. Second, a higher level of interpersonal competence among adolescents was significantly correlated with a higher level of adolescent's positive self-esteem, lower level of adolescent's negative self-esteem, and higher level of psychological separation. Third, positive self-esteem was the most significant predictor of adolescents' interpersonal competence, followed by parent's regulation. Overall, the results suggest that self-esteem is very important to promote positive interpersonal competence among adolescents. Therefore, programs to address such issues are strongly needed.

  • This study is a descriptive survey study to identify the relationship between nurse-nurse cooperation, nurse-doctor cooperation, and professional self-concept perceived by nursing students among nursing students with clinical practice experience. The subjects of the study were 140 nursing students, and the collected data were descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and regression analysis of the factors influencing professional self-concept. As a result of the study, professional self-concept was positively correlated with nurse-nurse cooperation and nurse-doctor cooperation, and the influencing factor of professional self-concept was nurse-nurse cooperation, with explanatory power of 48.0%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing professional self-concept of nursing students, it is necessary to develop an educational program to enhance cooperation between professionals to promote the cooperative relationship between nurses and nurses, and to develop a curriculum for the development and application of simulation scenarios for cooperation between professionals based on clinical field cases.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the latent classes in the changing patterns of marital conflict perceived by mothers to explore its relationship with the changing patterns of mothers' depression, school readiness, self-esteem, and happiness of their children five years after their birth. A total of 1,243 responses from the 1st (2008) to 5th (2012) and 7th (2014) to 10th (2017) Korean Child and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) were analyzed by Latent Growth Modeling (LGM) and Growth Mixture Analysis (GMA). The results were as follows. First, three changing patterns in the mothers' perceived marital conflict groups were identified: low-low changing, average-uptrend, and high-unchanging group. Second, an increasing pattern of depression was found from mothers of high-unchanging group over five years. Third, school readiness for their children was differentiated according to the latent classes. In particular, children from the low-low changing group showed higher readiness as well as self-esteem and happiness. Fourth, children from mothers of the low-low changing group showed high self-esteem and happiness in lower grades in elementary school. The results of this study suggest that the mothers' perceived marital conflict had an influence on themselves as well as their children's school related behaviors. Suggestions for an intervention program to resolve marital conflict are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to find which variable has the biggest effect on the school life adjustment of elementary school students among family strength, self-esteem, and the mother's rearing attitude. Second, the study observes how the elementary school student's self-esteem has a moderating effect regarding the rearing attitudes of their mothers and their school life adjustment. Five hundred forty-five fifth and sixth graders from an elementary school in Cheonan, are the participants of this study. The key research findings of this study are as follows: First, among the rearing attitudes of the mothers, family strength, and self-esteem, the variable that showed the greatest relationship with positive school life adjustment was family strength followed by self-esteem. Second, The self-esteem of the elementary school students showed a 1% moderating significant effect between the rearing attitudes of the mothers and school life adjustment. In the high self-esteem group of elementary school students, the moderating effect of self-esteem showed a higher level of school life adjustment when the students perceived that their mother had an affectionate rearing attitude, but showed a lower level of school life adjustment if they perceived their mother's rearing attitude as rejective or overprotective. Therefore, this study suggests that a focus on increasing self-esteem and family strength along with the affectionate rearing attitude of mothers is needed for the positive adjustment of elementary school students.

And structural equation was conducted to verify hypothesis. The main results are as follows. First, it was found that professionalism and interactivity had a significant positive effect on trust. And, accuracy, completeness, and variety were all found to have a significant positive effect on trust. Second, in the relationship between individual characteristic factors and self-consistency, it was found that professionalism and authenticity had a significant positive effect on self-consistency. In addition, in the relationship between content quality and self-consistency, accuracy, completeness, and diversity were found to have a positive effect on self-consistency along with trust. Third, in the relationship between trust and self-consistency on brand attitude and purchase intention, both trust and self-consistency were found to have a statistically significant positive effect on brand attitude. It was found that only self-consistency and brand attitude had a statistically significant positive effect on purchase intention. These findings showed that when users perceive professionalism and interaction with influencer, trust increases, and professionalism and progress increase self-consistency with influencer. In addition, in the case of content quality, it was found that trust and self-consistency responded positively when perceived content quality through content accuracy, completeness, and diversity.
