Posture Recognition for a Bi-directional Participatory TV Program based on Face Color Region and Motion Map (시청자 참여형 양방향 TV 방송을 위한 얼굴색 영역 및 모션맵 기반 포스처 인식)

  • As intuitive hardware interfaces continue to be developed, it has become more important to recognize the posture of the user. An efficient alternative to adding expensive sensors is to implement computer vision systems. This paper proposes a method to recognize a user's postured in a live broadcast bi-directional participatory TV program. The proposed method first estimates the position of the user's hands by generation a facial color map for the user and a motion map. The posture is then recognized by computing the relative position of the face and the hands. This method exhibited 90% accuracy in an experiment to recognize three defined postures during the live broadcast bi-directional participatory TV program, even when the input images contained a complex background.

  • It is important meaning that the middle ages are to reenter the labor market. The middle age's reemployment give an opportunity to provide mental health improvement and to get self-confidence in their life. If governments make full use of the middle age's capital, it bring about. having a good opportunity to reduce finance burden. In this respect, this study is to design for investigating the impact of the middle age's positive psychological capital to reemployment. Thus, this study has conducted the survey on a random sample of the middle age who has lived in Uijeongbu cities. The findings are the follows. (1) The middle age's educational level has positive relationship to reemployment will. To this, in order to revitalize the reemployment, we have to develop suitable occupational category and to operate educational program systematically. (2)The middle age's positive psychological capital has an effect on reemployment will positively. In this respect, in order to improve the middle age's reemployment we need to energize self-esteem, the effort of obtaining reemployment information, and social network.

The Methodology of the Golf Swing Similarity Measurement Using Deep Learning-Based 2D Pose Estimation

  • In this paper, we propose a method to measure the similarity between golf swings in videos. As it is known that deep learning-based artificial intelligence technology is effective in the field of computer vision, attempts to utilize artificial intelligence in video-based sports data analysis are increasing. In this study, the joint coordinates of a person in a golf swing video were obtained using a deep learning-based pose estimation model, and based on this, the similarity of each swing segment was measured. For the evaluation of the proposed method, driver swing videos from the GolfDB dataset were used. As a result of measuring swing similarity by pairing swing videos of a total of 36 players, 26 players evaluated that their other swing sequence was the most similar, and the average ranking of similarity was confirmed to be about 5th. This ensured that the similarity could be measured in detail even when the motion was performed similarly.

  • Normally, aero photography using UAV uses about 430 MHz bandwidth radio frequency (RF) modem and navigates and remotely controls through the connection between UAV and ground control system. When using the exhausting method, it has communication range of 1-2 km with frequent cross line and since wireless communication sends information using radio wave as a carrier, it has 10 mW of signal strength limitation which gave restraints on life my distance communication. The purpose of research is to use communication technologies such as long-term evolution (LTE) of smart camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other communication modules and cameras that can transfer data to design and develop automatic shooting system that acquires images to UAV at the necessary locations. We conclude that the android based UAV filming and communication module system can not only film images with just one smart camera but also connects UAV system and ground control system together and also able to obtain real-time 3D location information and 3D position information using UAV system, GPS, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and magnetic measuring sensor which will allow us to use real-time position of the UAV and correction work through aerial triangulation.

  • Recently, hybrid positioning system combining GPS, vision sensor, and inertial sensor has drawn many attentions to estimate accurate vehicle positions. Since accurate multi-sensor fusion requires efficient time synchronization, this paper proposes an efficient method to obtain time synchronized measurements of vision sensor, inertial sensor, and OBD device based on GPS time information. In the proposed method, the time and position information is obtained by the GPS receiver, the attitude information is obtained by the inertial sensor, and the speed information is obtained by the OBD device. The obtained time, position, speed, and attitude information is converted to the color information. The color information is inserted to several corner pixels of the corresponding image frame. An experiment was performed with real measurements to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed method.

Implementation of ARM based Embedded System for Muscular Sense into both Color and Sound Conversion (근감각-색·음 변환을 위한 ARM 기반 임베디드시스템의 구현)

  • This paper focuses on a real-time hardware processing by implementing the ARM Cortex-M4 based embedded system, using a conversion algorithm from a muscular sense to both visual and auditory elements, which recognizes rotations of a human body, directional changes and motion amounts out of human senses. As an input method of muscular sense, AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System) was used to acquire roll, pitch and yaw values in real time. These three input values were converted into three elements of HSI color model such as intensity, hue and saturation, respectively. Final color signals were acquired by converting HSI into RGB color model. In addition, Three input values of muscular sense were converted into three elements of sound such as octave, scale and velocity, which were synthesized to give an output sound using MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface). The analysis results of both output color and sound signals revealed that input signals of muscular sense were correctly converted into both color and sound in real time by the proposed conversion method.

  • In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient algorithm for head pose estimation using a single camera. First, four subimages are obtained from the camera image for face feature extraction. These subimages are used as feature templates. The templates are then tracked by Kalman filtering, and camera projective matrix is computed by the projective mapping between the templates and their coordinate in the 3D coordinate system. And the user's face pose is estimated from the projective mapping between the user's face and image plane. The accuracy and the robustness of our technique is verified on the experimental results of several real video sequences.

A Study of High Precision Position Estimator Using GPS/INS Sensor Fusion (GPS/INS센서 융합을 이용한 고 정밀 위치 추정에 관한 연구)

  • There are several ways such as GPS(Global Positioning System) and INS (Inertial Navigation System) to track the location of moving vehicle. The GPS has the advantages of having non-accumulative error even if it brings about errors. In order to obtain the position information, we need to receive at least 3 satellites information. But, the weak point is that GPS is not useful when the 혠 signal is weak or it is in the incommunicable region such as tunnel. In the case of INS, the information of the position and posture of mobile with several Hz~several hundreds Hz data speed is recorded for velocity, direction. INS shows a very precise navigational performance for a short period, but it has the disadvantage of increasing velocity components because of the accumulated error during integration over time. In this paper, sensor fusion algorithm is applied to both of INS and GPS for the position information to overcome the drawbacks. The proposed system gets an accurate position information from experiment using SVD in a non-accessible GPS terrain.

  • Road signs are part of the traffic facilities intended to guide drivers to their destinations in a safe and comfortable manner. Due to the creation of new routes, changes to the old routes, and the deterioration of road signs, road signs do require efforts to do ongoing field investigations and put the results in a database. The purpose of this study was to propose methodologies to do field investigations and build a database for road signs efficiently. For that purpose, a mobile mapping system was designed for field investigations. The designed mobile mapping system was comprised of three cameras to produce image information about road signs, GPS/IMU/DMI to obtain information about the position and attitude of a vehicle, and a laser scanner to generate information about the locations of road signs and routes. Also proposed in the study was a procedure to automatically detect the areas of road signs in the road signs images and recognize their characters.

  • This paper proposes a collision prevention system for an agricultural unmanned helicopter. The collision prevention system consists of an obstacle detection system, a mapping algorithm, and a collision avoidance algorithm. The obstacle detection system based on a LiDAR sensor is implemented in the unmanned helicopter and acquires distance information of obstacles in real-time. Then, an obstacle mapping is carried out by combining the distance to the obstacles with attitude/location data of the unmanned helicopter. In order to prevent a collision, alert is activated to an operator based on the map when the vehicle approaches to the obstacles. Moreover, the developed collision prevention system is verified through flight test simulating a flight pattern aerial spraying.
