Abandoned objects should be treated as possibly dangerous things for public areas until they turn out to be safe because explosive material or chemical substance is intentionally contained in them for public terrors. For large public areas such as airports or train stations, there are limits in man-power for security staffs to check all the monitors for covering the entire area under surveillance. This is the basic motivation of developing the automatic detection system for dangerous abandoned objects based on vision technology. In this research, well-known DBE is applied to stably extract background images and the HOG algorithm is adapted to discriminate between human and stuff for object classification. To show the effectiveness of the proposed system, experiments are carried out in detecting intrusion for a forbidden area and alarming for abandoned objects in a room under surveillance.

Ports and coastal areas that serve as national corridors have threats such as smuggling ships, enemy infiltration ships and pirate ships. To prevent intrusion of intrusive vessels, a system is needed to continuously monitor the coastal area and detect their intrusion. However, it is difficult for surveillance personnel to identify threatened vessels while monitoring large coastal areas. In this paper, we propose a system that can monitor coastal and harbor area and automatically detect ships entering the Navigation Inhibit Area to generate alarms and classify the types of ships by image classification.

In almost industries, such as the logistics industry, marine fisheries, agriculture, industry, and services, small unmanned aerial vehicles are used for aerial photographing or closing flight in areas where human access is difficult or CCTV is not installed. Also, based on the information of small unmanned aerial photographing, application research is actively carried out to efficiently perform surveillance, control, or management. In order to carry out tasks in a mission-based manner in which the set tasks are assigned and the tasks are automatically performed, the small unmanned aerial vehicles must not only fly steadily but also be able to charge the energy periodically, In addition, the unmanned aircraft need to land automatically and precisely at certain points after the end of the mission. In order to accomplish this, an automatic precision landing method that leads landing by continuously detecting and recognizing a marker located at a landing point from a video shot of a small UAV is required. In this paper, it is shown that accurate and stable automatic landing is possible even if simple template matching technique is applied without using various recognition methods that require high specification in using low cost general purpose small unmanned aerial vehicle. Through simulation and actual experiments, the results show that the proposed method will be made good use of industrial fields.
Time-series data generated from satellite data are crucial resources for change detection and monitoring across various fields. Existing research in time-series data generation primarily relies on single-image analysis to maintain data uniformity, with ongoing efforts to enhance spatial and temporal resolutions by utilizing diverse image sources. Despite the emphasized significance of time-series data, there is a notable absence of automated data collection and preprocessing for research purposes. In this paper, to address this limitation, we propose a system that automates the collection of satellite information in user-specified areas to generate time-series data. This research aims to collect data from various satellite sources in a specific region and convert them into time-series data, developing an automatic satellite image collection system for this purpose. By utilizing this system, users can collect and extract data for their specific regions of interest, making the data immediately usable. Experimental results have shown the feasibility of automatically acquiring freely available Landsat and Sentinel images from the web and incorporating manually inputted high-resolution satellite images. Comparisons between automatically collected and edited images based on high-resolution satellite data demonstrated minimal discrepancies, with no significant errors in the generated output.
Due to the bandwidth-consuming characteristics of the heavy-hitter P2P applications, it has become critical to have the capability of pinpointing and mitigating P2P traffic. Traditional port-based classification scheme is no more adequate for this purpose because of newer P2P applications, which incorporating port-hopping techniques or disguising themselves as HTTP-based Internet disk services. Alternatively, packet filtering scheme based on payload signatures suggests more practical and accurate solution for this problem. Moreover, it can be easily deployed on existing IDSes. However, it is significantly difficult to maintain up-to-date signatures of P2P applications. Hence, the automatic signature generation method is essential and will be useful for successful signature-based traffic identification. In this paper, we suggest an automatic signature generation method for Internet disk P2P applications and provide an experimental results on CNU campus network.
In this paper, we developed a web-based DApp system based on a private blockchain by applying machine learning techniques to automatically identify Android malicious apps that are continuously increasing rapidly. The optimal machine learning model that provides 96.2587% accuracy for Android malicious app identification was selected to the authorized experimental data, and automatic identification results for Android malicious apps were recorded/managed in the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain system. In addition, a web-based DApp system was developed so that users who have been granted the proper authority can use the blockchain system. Therefore, it is possible to further improve the security in the Android mobile app usage environment through the development of the machine learning-based Android malicious app identification block chain DApp system presented. In the future, it is expected to be able to develop enhanced security services that combine machine learning and blockchain for general-purpose data.

Since function block diagram (FBD) programs are widely used to implement safety-critical systems, effective testing for FBD programs has become important. Mutation testing, a fault-based testing, is highly effective in fault detection but computationally expensive. To support testers for FBD programs, we propose an automated mutant generator for FBD programs. We designed the MuGenFBD tool with the cost and equivalent mutant issues in consideration. We conducted experiments on real industrial examples to present the performance of MuGenFBD. The results show that MuGenFBD can generate mutants for FBD programs automatically with low probability of equivalent mutants and low cost. This tool can effectively support mutation analysis and mutation-adequate test generation for FBD programs.

Sound can travel a long distance in the ocean; hence, acoustic instruments have been widely used for ocean observations in various fields such as bathymetric survey, object detection, underwater communication, and current measurements. Herein we introduce a pressure-recording inverted echo sounder (PIES) which is one of the most powerful instruments, moored at seafloor for ocean observation in physical oceanography. The PIES can measure various kinds of oceanic phenomena (currents, mesoscale eddies, internal waves, and sea surface height variabilities) and support acoustic telemetry and pop-up data shuttle (PDS) system for remote data acquisition. In this paper, we review uses of PIES and describe present and prospective system of PIES including remote data acquisition toward (quasi) real-time data recovery.
