  • A study on the need for a safety system using driver's biometric information, vehicle automatic emergency braking system, and the e-call system that in the event of an unexpected situation such as loss of driving ability due to sudden physical abnormality of elderly drivers and drivers with health problems, and the improvement of laws for the spread of this system were studied.

  • In order to drive a vehicle safely, driver needs to check status of the car. Many moderns are having trouble to spare time to visit auto mechanic and have car mechanics to check their car other than their office hours. If the car status cannot be inspected regularly, it is likely to cause a big accident threatening the surroundings as well as driver's life. Inspection tool and system help driver to check their own vehicle status personally are required for preventing it. In this paper, it designed and realized system that records driving information based on changing data of vehicle (location and automotive internal data) and allows driver can check the vehicle status easily and further, driver can share the driving information with repair shop via the Internet to receive detailed inspection service for car status.

  • The propose of this study is to apply establish the foundation for development of elder driver friendly smart cluster. At first, vehicle dashboard trends were analyzed. Secondly, we presents the structure of elder driver friendly smart cluster and explains android based meter cluster. also, we shows the implementation details and experimental result of elder driver friendly smart cluster system. And we presents a summary and conclusions.

  • 자동차와 IT간 융합에 대한 연구가 진행되면서 운전자에게 친숙한 자동차 시스템에 대한 많은 솔루션 및 기술들이 개발되고 있다. 운전자의 졸음 및 상태를 측정하기 위한 영상 및 다양한 센서정보 획득 기술은 운전자로 하여금 보다 더 안전한 운전 지침을 제공할 수 있으며, 자동차의 상태를 확인할 수 있는 CAN 정보를 통해 현재 주행 중인 차량의 상태를 실시간으로 점검할 수 있는 연구도 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 운전자의 상태 정보(MJPEG 영상 데이터)와 차량 정보(CAN 정보)를 융합하여 전송할 수 있는 모듈을 설계 해본다.

  • 운전자 정보제공 HVI(Human-Vehicle Interface) 시스템은 운전자에게 보다 향상된 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 시스템이다. 요즘에는 다양한 정보기기가 등장하면서 운전 중에 다양한 정보를 습득할 수 있고 유용한 정보로 활용할 수 있다. 반면 이러한 기기들이 통합되지 않음으로 인해 조작에 불편을 주고 때로는 유용한 정보가 운전에 방해를 주는 요인이 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 운전자에게 정보제공을 위한 HVI 통합 시스템을 설계하여 다양한 정보기기를 통해 수집되는 정보를 운전자에게 효과적으로 제공하고 운전 중에 운전자의 동작을 최소화기 위한 시스템을 설계한다.

  • Now a days, there are various application functions to transmit from vehicles to the Internet and vice versa. And the communication can be operated through a roadside infrastructure including with possible use of routing protocols. Specifically, autonomous vehicles for remote driving and monitoring requires transmitting of high depth of multimedia such as video. Especially in a populated urban area, an efficient network is vital because of handling a great amount of the data. Therefore, in this paper, efficient network topology for a crossroad in urban area is suggested by performance evaluation of vehicular networks using a wireless LAN and a routing protocol. For the performance evaluation, various vehicular network topologies are designed and simulated in OPNet simulator.

A Survey of Autogas Car Driver's Attitude on Safe Driving (LPG 자동차 안전운행을 위한 운전자 의식조사)

  • In this study, we surveyed 544 drivers, who had taken the education course for autogas car drivers, to figure out their safety awareness status including the recognition of hazards of gas leaking from autogas cars and response attitude toward them. As a result of the survey, we found out that 63% of the responders recognized the hazards of gas leakage and 79% preferred parking in the aboveground areas. For the necessity of introducing restrictions on autogas cars parking in underground lots, 58% of all responders answered yes while 71% of the responders aged over fifties and 73% of them who responded to have known the hazards of parking in underground answered in the affirmative. Furthermore, we found out that responders who had recognized the hazards preferred aboveground parking areas, and the responders who had preferred the aboveground recognized the hazards of parking autogas cars underground and felt the necessity of restricting them from parking in underground relatively high. Through the analysis of these results, we can analyse that the drivers who are aware of the hazards of gas leakage have higher safety attitude for hazards than the other drivers who are not aware of them.

A Comparative Study on Healthcare Autonomous Vehicle Technologies between South Korea and the US Based on Social N etwork Analysis (헬스케어 관련 자율주행 자동차 기술 한미 비교 연구 : 사회연결망 분석을 중심으로)

  • The rapid increase of ageing population and chronic disease patients cause high medical expenses, and it led an increased attention to digital healthcare. Smart car technologies for healthcare have been developing to recognize drivers' status and predict diverse driving environments. The present study aimed to understand the research trends of autonomous vehicle technologies of Korea and the United States through time series analysis, network analysis, visualization, and comparison between the two countries. The results suggest that cooperative study needs to be done in common research areas such as driver's safety and algorithms. It is also needed to conduct studies and benchmark about liking technique related to part-to-part and vehicle-to-vehicle as America's competitive advantaged area. In the US, diverse approaches of autonomous vehicle technologies have used to consider the characteristics of various age groups and passengers' health status through sensor, while in Korea, only one aspect, older drivers, is mentioned. Implications for the development direction of autonomous vehicle technologies with competitiveness in considering public health, ethics, and driver's safety and convenience are discussed in detail.

  • 자율주행차는 운전자가 직접 조작하지 않아도 자동차가 주변 환경을 인식해 위험을 판단하고 주행경로를 계획하여 운전자 주행조작을 최소화하며, 스스로 안전운행이 가능한 인간 친화형 자동차이다. 각국은 프로젝트 등을 통해 기술개발을 지원하고 법제화로 후원하고 있는데, 사람이 운전하지 않는 자율주행차가 도로 위를 달릴 수 있는지 논란이 되고 있어 '운전자가 제어하는 차'를 기준으로 관련법을 제정하고 있다. 업체들은 공공도로에서 주행할 수 있는 임시허가를 받아 자율주행차를 시험주행하는 등 개발에 박차를 가하고 있다.

  • In this paper, we devise a new ontology-based context-aware system to recognize the smart car information, in which driver's intent is utilized by information of car, driver, environment as well as driving state, driver state. So proposed system can handle dynamically risk changes by adding real-time situational awareness information. We utilize the camera image recognition technology for context-aware intelligent vehicle driving information, and implement information acquisition scheme OBD-II protocol to acquire vehicle's information. Experiments confirm that the proposed advanced driver safety assist system outperforms the conventional system, which only utilizes the information of vehicle, driver, and environmental information, to support the service of a high-speed driving, lane-departure service and emergency braking situation awareness.
