On-line Compensation Method for Magnetic Position Sensor using Recursive Least Square Method (재귀형 최소 자승법을 이용한 자기 위치 센서의 실시간 보상 방법)

  • This paper presents the error correction method of magnetic position sensor using recursive least square method (RLSM) with forgetting factor. Magnetic position sensor is proposed for linear position detection of the linear motor which has tooth shape stator, consists of permanent magnet, iron core and linear hall sensor, and generates sine and cosine waveforms according to the movement of the mover of the linear motor. From the output of magnetic position sensor, the position of the linear motor can be detected using arc-tan function. But the variation of the air gap between magnetic position sensor and the stator and the error in manufacturing process can cause the variation in offset, phase and amplitude of the generated waveforms when the linear motor moves. These variations in sine and cosine waveforms are changed according to the current linear motor position, and it is very difficult to compensate the errors using constant value. In this paper, the generated sine and cosine waveforms from the magnetic position sensor are compensated on-line using the RLSM with forgetting factor. And the speed observer is introduced to reduce the effect of uncompensated harmonic component. The approaches are verified by some simulations and experiments.

  • This paper utilizes the method of Q-parameterization control to design a controller which solves the problem of imbalance in magnetic bearing systems. There are two methods to solve this problem using feedback controal. The first method is to compensate for the imbalance forces by generating opposing forces on the bearing surface (imbalance compensation). The second method is to make the rotor rotate around its axis of inertia (automatic balancing);in this case no imbalance forces will be generated. In this paper we deal with only imbalance compensation. The free parameter of the Q-parameterization controller is chosen such that these goals are achieved. After the introduction of a model of the magnetic bearing system, we explain the Q-parameterization controller design of the magnetic bearing system with emphasis on the rejection of sinusoidal disturbance for imbalance compensation design. The design objectives are formulated as a linear equations in the controller free paramete Q. Finally, simulation and experimental results are presented and showed the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

Comparison of Temperament and Cognitive Function Between Basketball and Baseball Players (농구 선수와 야구 선수의 기질 및 인지 기능의 비교)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was investigating the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive function among athletes and non-athletes, as well as differences within athlete groups participating in different-paced sports like baseball and basketball. Methods : A total of 57 professional basketball players, 51 professional baseball players, and 44 non-athletes subjected to temperament and characteristics inventory assessments and computerized neurocognitive function test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the average differences in demographic characteristics, temperament, personality traits, and cognitive functions among the three groups, followed by Bonferroni post hoc tests. Comparisons between starters and non-starters within the athlete groups were conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results : In the analysis of temperament, the basketball and baseball player groups exhibited higher reward dependence and persistence compared to the control group. Additionally, in the assessment of personality traits, both basketball and baseball player groups scored higher in self-directedness and cooperativeness compared to the control group, whereas self-transcendence scores were lower. In cognitive ability assessments, baseball and basketball players outperformed the control group in emotional perception tests. Both baseball and basketball players showed lower card movement counts compared to the control group. Conclusions : This study compared the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities between professional basketball and baseball players and non-athletes. These results provide valuable insights into the temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities of professional athletes, contributing important information for athlete development and coaching goals in the future.

  • This study is implementation of attitude control system(ACS - Attitude Control System). for a multi legs robot. This study designs H/W of Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and attitude control algorithm S/W. Compare performance with Mtx and MTx in order to verify action performance of this system after implementation, and will verify a system integrated IMU of a multi-legs robot. ACS uses Gyro and an accelerometer and an earth magnetism sensor, and it is a system controlling a roll, pitch angle attitude of an object. Generally, low price MEMS is difficult to calculate a correct situation of an object as an error occurs severely the Inertial sensor. This study implements IMU in order to develop ACS as use MEMS, accelerometer, Gyro sensor and earth magnetism sensor. Design algorithm each a roll, pitch, yaw attitude guaranteeing regular performance, and do poling in a system as include an attitude calculation program in an IMU system implemented. Mixed output of Gyro and an accelerometer, and recompensed a roll, pitch angle, and loaded in this study on a target platform in order to implement the ACS which guaranteed performance more than a continuously regular level, and operated by real time, and did porting, and verified.

Effects of Pre- and Post-Employment Experience Factors on Individual and Organizational Priority -A Case of Korea Airports Corporation- (입사 전·후 경험요인이 개인 및 조직 우선가치에 미치는 영향 -한국공항공사 사례연구-)

  • This is a case study of Korea Airports Corporation(KAC) examining the effects of pre- and post-employment experience factors on individual and organizational priority. This study surveyed 240 employees of KAC and analyzed the results. The influence of pre-employment experience (number of times applying to public sector, reason to choose public sector, and job changing experience) and post-employment experience (years of employment, position, and job types) on personal value (authority, achievement, welfare, vacation, and personal life) and organizational value (responsibility, obligation, performance, compensation, and participation) was studied. The results indicated that organizational value is generally greater than personal value. Preference value (=organizational value/personal value) was greater than one for every group. Education, years of employment, position, reason to choose public sector were confirmed to influence preference value. For pre-employment factors, as an employee chooses to work in the public sector because of better balance of work-personal life, preference value was confirmed to be lower. For post-employment factors, when the years of employment are longer and the position is higher, preference value is significantly higher. The results imply that an organization should establish a fair evaluation and compensation system to help employees display their full capability to produce maximum performance.

A Study on the Cracking Control Effects of Shrinkage Reduction Concrete (수축보상형 콘크리트의 균열억제 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to qualitatively evaluate the cracking control effects of expansive concrete used in reinforced concrete building. The result of experiments in laboratory shows that autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage are suppressed by using expansive additive. The tensile stress-strength ratio is lower in expansive concrete than normal concrete under fully restrained condition. Compression stress could be effectively generated in early age in the walls in buildings by the use of expansive additive, and tensile stress due to drying shrinkage at later age eventually decreased. Additionally, visual observation at long-term ages shows that the cracking area of expansive concrete was approximately 35% of normal concrete, which confirms that the use of expansive additive reduces concrete cracking in reinforced concrete buildings.

  • This research aims to suggest a gamified smart learning design for Korean EFL young learners' speaking proficiency. Gamification is the use of game-thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems. Thus, the gamified smart learning as gamification in education is designed not only to elicit students' participation but also to enhance speaking skills. Especially, this research based on the results of a pilot study is focused on easing the burden of homework as well as engaging the speaking English game for the primary students with a relatively short attention span. The game elements utilized in this study are competition, rewards, customized characterization and so on. Kakao Talk is selected for this gamified smart learning research because of its ease of accessibility, and multiple applicable functions for language learning such as voice recording, text messaging and sharing videos or photos. Gamification in smart learning can be a means of productive approach to contemporary EFL teaching and learning.

  • In this paper, we present hardware implemcntation of self-organizing feature map (SOFM) neural networkwith constant adaptation gain and binary reinforcement function on FPGA. Whereas a tnme-varyingadaptation gain is used in the conventional SOFM, the proposed SOFM has a time-invariant adaptationgain and adds a binary reinforcement function in order to compensate for the lowered abilityof SOFM due to the constant adaptation gain. Since the proposed algorithm has no multiplication operation.it is much easier to implement than the original SOFM. Since a unit neuron is composed of 1adde $r_tracter and 2 adders, its structure is simple, and thus the number of neurons fabricated onFPGA is expected to he large. In addition, a few control signal: ;:rp sufficient for controlling !he neurons.Experimental results show that each componeni ot thi inipiemented neural network operates correctlyand the whole system also works well.stem also works well.

Soft X-ray Synchrotron-Radiation Spectroscopy Study of Half-metallic Mn3Ga Heusler Alloy (반쪽 금속 호이슬러 화합물 Mn3Ga의 연 X선 방사광 분광 연구)

  • By employing photoemission spectroscopy (PES) and soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), the electronic structure of the candidate half-metallic antiferromagnet of $Mn_3Ga$ Heusler compound has been investigated. We have studied two ball-milled $Mn_3Ga$ powder samples, one after annealing and the other without annealing, respectively. Based on the Mn 2p XAS study, we have found that Mn ions are nearly divalent in $Mn_3Ga$ and that the Mn ions having the locally octahedral symmetry and those having the locally tetrahedral symmetry are both present in $Mn_3Ga$. We have found relatively good agreement between the measured valence-band PES spectrum of $Mn_3Ga$ and the calculated density of states, which is in agreement with the half-metallic electronic structure of $Mn_3Ga$.

  • The adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is the one of important issues in the recent accounting research because the change from local GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to IFRS has a substantial effect on accounting information. Over 100 countries including Australia, China, Canada and the European Union member countries adopt IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for financial reporting purposes, and several more including the United States and Japan are considering the adoption of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). In Korea, 61 firms voluntarily adopted Korean International Financial Reporting Standard (K-IFRS) in 2009 and 2010 and all listed firms mandatorily adopted K-IFRS (Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards) in 2011. The adoption of IFRS is expected to increase financial statement comparability, improve corporate transparency, increase the quality of financial reporting, and hence, provide benefits to investors This study investigates whether recognized accounts receivable discounting (AR discounting) under Korean International Financial Reporting Standard (K-IFRS) is more value relevant than disclosed AR discounting under Korean Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (K-GAAP). Because more rigorous standards are applied to the derecognition of AR discounting under K-IFRS(Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards), most AR discounting is recognized as a short term debt instead of being disclosed as a contingent liability unless all risks and rewards are transferred. In this research, I try to figure out industrial responses to the changes in accounting rules for the treatment of accounts receivable toward more strict standards in the recognition of sales which occurs with the adoption of Korea International Financial Reporting Standard. This study examines whether accounting information is more value-relevant, especially information on accounts receivable discounting (hereinafter, AR discounting) is value-relevant under K-IFRS (Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards). First, note that AR discounting involves the transfer of financial assets. Under Korean Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (K-GAAP), when firms discount AR to banks before the AR maturity, firms conventionally remove AR from the balance-sheet and report losses from AR discounting and disclose and explain the transactions in the footnotes. Under K-IFRS (Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards), however, most firms keep AR and add a short-term debt as same as discounted AR. This process increases the firms' leverage ratio and raises the concern to the firms about investors' reactions to worsening capital structures. Investors may experience the change in perceived risk of the firm. In the study sample, the average of AR discounting is 75.3 billion won (maximum 3.6 trillion won and minimum 18 million won), which is, on average 7.0% of assets (maximum 38.6% and minimum 0.002%), 26.2% of firms' accounts receivable (maximum 92.5% and minimum 0.003%) and 13.5% of total liabilities (maximum 69.5% and minimum 0.004%). After the adoption of K-IFRS (Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards), total liabilities increase by 13%p on average (maximum 103%p and minimum 0.004%p) attributable to AR discounting. The leverage ratio (total liabilities/total assets) increases by an average 2.4%p (maximum 16%p and minimum 0.001%p) and debt-to-equity ratio increases by average 14.6%p (maximum 134%p and minimum 0.006%) attributable to the recognition of AR discounting as a short-term debt. The structure of debts and equities of the companies engaging in factoring transactions are likely to be affected in the changes of accounting rule. I suggest that the changes in accounting provisions subsequent to Korea International Financial Reporting Standard adoption caused significant influence on the structure of firm's asset and liabilities. Due to this changes, the treatment of account receivable discounting have become critical. This paper proposes an intelligent diagnostic system for estimating negative impact on stock value with self-organizing maps and case based reasoning. To validate the usefulness of this proposed model, real data was analyzed. In order to get the significance of this proposed model, several models were compared to the research model. I found out that this proposed model provides satisfactory results with compared models.
