A Study on Improving TCP Performance in Wireless Network (무선 네트워크에서 TCP성능향상을 위한 연구)

  • As the TCP is the protocol designed for the wired network that packet loss probability is very low, because TCP transmitter takes it for granted that the packet loss by the wireless network characteristics is occurred by the network congestion and lowers the transmitter's transmission rate, the performance is degraded. In this article, we suggest the newly improved algorithm using two parameters, the local retransmission time value and the local retransmission critical value to the BS based on the Snoop. This technique adjusts the base stations local retransmission timer effectively according to the wireless link status to recover the wireless packet loss rapidly. We checked that as a result of the suggested algorithm through various simulations, A-Snoop protocol improve more the wireless TCP transmission rate by recovering the packet loss effectively in the wireless link that the continuous packet loss occur than the Snoop protocol.

  • Mobile ad hoc network은 관리나 표준화된 지원 서비스 없이 무선 이동 노드들만으로 구성되는 임시적인 망이다. Mobile ad hoc network에서는 노드들의 이동성으로 인해 각각의 노드들이 경로를 결정하고, 경로가 무효화되었을 때 빠르고 효과적으로 복구하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 On-Demand 방식의 대표적인 프로토콜인 AODV에서 경로 설정 과정과 경로 파손이 발생했을 때 경로 재설정 과정을 알아보고, 액티브 경로의 길이가 망의 직경에 가깝게 확장되어 졌을 경우에 경로 설정 과정에서 흡수를 이용해 mark-up 한 노드들과 RREP 전송과정에서 mark-up한 노드에 의한 부분적인 다중 경로를 설정함으로서 보다 효과적이긴 신뢰성 있는 새로운 경로 재설정 기법을 제안한다.

Structural behavior on the steel beam with strengthening bonded carbon plate (카본판을 접착보강한 강재의 거동분석)

  • The use of advanced composite materials in strengthening and repair of existing structures is increasing rapidly. This paper describes an effectiveness of a bonding of carbon fiber reinforced sheets to corroded steel members for the repair. Three types of surface treatment, what we call cleaning, of corroded plate are chosen as parameters. They are "without cleaning","removal of painting by brushing" and "complete removal of painting". From the experimental study, the following findings are obtained. 1) When the steel plate is subjected to tensile force, carbon fiber sheets adhered to the painted steel gives a higher strength against peeling compared to that of the plate without painting, 2) The grade of surface treatment, or cleaning of the corroded steel plate affects the strengthening effect.

Service Discovery Scheme for Wireless Ad-hoc Networks (무선 애드-혹 네트워크를 위한 효율적인 서비스 검색 기법)

  • Efficient service discovery mechanism is a crucial feature for the usability of a wireless ad-hoc network. A wireless ad-hoc network is a temporal network formed by a collection of wireless mobile nodes without the aid of any existing network infrastructure or centralized administration. We propose an efficient service discovery mechanism using non-disjoint multi-path routing protocol for a wireless ad-hoc network. Our scheme has advantages of not only multi-path routing protocol but also cross-layer service discovery. By simulation, we showed that faster route recovery is possible by maintaining multiple routing paths in each node, and the route maintenance overhead can be reduced by limiting the number of multiple routing paths and by maintaining link/node non-disjoint multi-path.

Field Application of RFID for the Cavity Maintenance of Under Pavement (도로하부 공동의 유지관리를 위한 RFID의 현장 적용성 평가)

  • Purpose: The cavity exploration of the lower part of the road is carried out to prevent ground-sinking. However, the detected communities cannot be identified by the cavity location and history information, such as repackaging the pavement. Therefore, the field applicability of RFID systems was evaluated in this study to enable anyone to accurately identify information. Method: During temporary recovery, tag recognition distance and recognition rate were measured according to underground burial materials and telecommunication tubes using RFID systems with electronic tag chips attached to the bottom of the rubber cap. Result: The perceived distance and perceived rate of depth for each position of the electron tag did not significantly affect the depth up to 15cm, but it did have some effect if the depth was 20cm. In addition, water effects from nearby underground facilities and rainfall are relatively small, and the effects of wind will need to be considered during the weather conditions of the road. Conclusion: The RFID tags for field application of the pavement management system store various information such as location and size of cavity, identification date, cause of occurrence, and surrounding underground facilities to maximize cavity management effect with a system that can be computerized and mobile utilization.
