Analysis and Investigation for the Status of Radiation Therapy QA in Korea (국내 방사선치료기기의 품질관리 현황조사 및 분석)

  • We have taken surveys about total 72 departments of radiation oncology which is performing the treatment with linear accelerator and brachytherapy unit in Korea. The survey was included the research about the linear accelerator, brachytherapy, Also, we surveyed the various performance (QA period, manpower, time) of quality control for understanding of efficiency. The survey results show that the QA test of daily and weekly are almost same comparing to USA and Europe but the QA performance of monthly and yearly in Korea are 15.5 which is less than USA and Europe recommended QA item number of 17 to 21. The manpower and QA time in Korea also lower than 50% of USA and Europe recommended because the manpower and QA time limitation in Korea. It will be expected that the manual of quality management in each clinic could be appropriately established when combining the present results with previously published AAPM TG-40 and other protocols.

  • Stomach contents and microstructures in otolith of Chaenogobius laevis were analyzed for the determination of age, growth and food. By comparaing structural similarity in a series of growth increments from three samples collected in a two-week interval, daily deposition of growth increments in otolith can be validated. Growth in length as daily basis was well represented by Gompertz curve: $L= 5.73{\cdot}\;e^{15.06}(1-e^{-0.0015t})$ for the fish age of $46\~102$ days. Mean growth rate increased from 0.40 mm/day for the age of $50\~60$ days to 0.85 mm/day for the age of $80\~100$ days. Chasnobius laevis showed a carnivorous feeding behavior and its major food items were polychaetes, amphipods and copepods. Small individuals ($15\~30$ mm SL) preyed heavily on copepods as well as polychaetes. However, the portion of copepods in stomach contents was decreased with increasing fish siEe, and this decrease was compensated by an increased consumption of amphipods.

Clinical Efficacy of Clomiphene Citrate and Letrozole Combined with Gonadotropins for Superovulation in Patients with Clomiphene-Induced Thin Endometrium (클로미펜에 얇은 자궁내막을 보이는 환자에서 성선자극호르몬 병합 과배란유도시 클로미펜과 레트로졸의 임상적 효용성)

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the clinical efficacy of clomiphene citrate (CC) and letrozole combined with gonadotropins for controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) in patients with CC-induced thin endometrium Methods: Fifty-one intrauterine insemination cycles performed in patients who previously had a thin endometrium (<8 mm) to ovulation induction using CC were included in this study. A CC 100 mg/day (CC+gonadotropin group, n=26) or letrozole 2.5 or 5 mg/day (letrozole+gonadotropin group, n=25) was administered on day 3~7 of the menstrual cycle, combined with gonadotropins at dose 75~150 IU every other day starting on day 5~7. We compared total dose of gonadotropin used, endometrial thickness, endometrial pattern, number of follicles ${\geq}14\;mm$ on hCG day, pregnancy rate and multiple pregnancy rate between the two groups, which were statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test or Fisher's exact test, where appropriate. Results: There were no significant differences in clinical characteristics such as age, duration of infertility, number of previous IUI cycles, basal serum hormone levels and cause of infertility between the two groups. In both groups, the endometrium was significantly thicker than that of previous ovulation induction cycles using CC. No significant differences were found in the total dose of gonadotropin used, day of hCG administration, the rate of triple endometrium and pregnancy rate. The number of follicles ${\geq}14\;mm$ was significantly lower ($3.7{\pm}1.7$ vs. $2.8{\pm}1.7$, p=0.03) and the endometrium on hCG day was significantly thicker ($7.7{\pm}1.5$ vs. $9.1{\pm}1.7$, p=0.001) in letrozole+gonadotropin group compared to CC+gonadotropin group. Conclusion: The clomiphene citrate and letrozole combined with gonadotropins appear to avoid the undesirable effects on the endometrium frequently seen with CC for ovulation induction. However, in terms of adequate endometrial development or optimal follicular growth, letrozole may be more beneficial than CC for gonadotropin-combined COS in patients with CC-induced thin endometrium. Further prospective randomized controlled studies in a larger scale will be necessary to confirm our findings.

Parasitism of Trichogramma evanescens and T. ostriniae (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) to Eggs of the Asian Corn Borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) (조명나방(Ostrinia furnacalis) 알에 대한 쌀좀알벌(T. evanescens)과 T. ostriniae의 기생특성)

  • Parasitism of the egg parasitoid, Trichogramma evanescens, to its main host insect, the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis in Korea was compared with that of T. ostriniae that is the dominant species in China on the same host insect. Parasitoid adults of both species emerged more than 50 percent within 4 hours after lights-on in 16L/8D photo period regime and showed a circadian rhythm of emergence. The developmental period from oviposition to emergence in both parasitoids was ca. 11 days and there were no significant differences between the two species and between female and male of each species, either. Both species also showed superparasitism even when the parasitic rates in one egg mass were below 100 percent. Both species oviposited by 5 days after emergence, and maximum longevities of each female adult of both species were 8 day for T. evanescens and 6 day for T. ostriniae. The total number of eggs parasitized by T. evanescens was ca. 38 eggs and ca. 31 eggs by T. ostriniae. Newly emerged female parasitoid laid eggs on about $50\%$ of the host insect egg mass, and the parasitism decreased with the adult age of egg parasitoids in both species. The sex ratio of two species was female-biased about $80\%$.

  • One of the hottest issues of security is information leakage of financial institution. Financial institutions including commercial banks are frequently threatened by attempts of leakage through hacking and vulnerability, and this information is centered on personal information of their clients. Through this study, I found out that security managers of financial institutions are trying to prevent the leaking of private information, but in fact most of them barely know where their personal information is. Even if they know where it is and trace the data, it is often found in unexpected places. Because there is a lot of waste in time and human resources as search is done manually, we have understood that responding to IT Compliance requires a lot of effort. This study is to improve IT Compliance response and protect information leakage through monitoring PC and servers, the main storage of personal information by automated system, periodically.

The Relationship between Life Style and Periodontal Health Status (생활습관과 치주건강상태의 관련성)

  • This study was investigated in order to provide basic data for prevention of periodontal disease and maintenance through proper lifestyle by finding the relevance of periodontal health with lifestyle habits. Data were collected from total of 326 subjects in their forties and fifties by using questionnaire and examination of periodontal health status. Results were analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0. The smoking status were statistically significant to gingival index (p<0.01), pocket depth (p<0.001), and clinical attachment loss (p<0.001). Smoking amount per day were statistically significant to gingival index (p<0.05), pocket depth (p<0.01), and clinical attachment loss (p<0.001). Duration of smoking were statistically significant to gingival index (p<0.05), pocket depth (p<0.01), and clinical attachment loss (p<0.001). Drinking cycle were statistically significant to gingival index (p<0.05), and clinical attachment loss (p<0.05). It is investigated that smoking (p<0.05) influence on clinical attachment loss. Dental care institute needs to make patients be aware of the fact that excessive smoking and drinking affect the periodontal health status for prevention of periodontal disease and maintenance of oral health. Therefore systematic educational programs to stop smoking and drinking should be prepared.

  • As many parts of Korea are mountainous, many tunnels have been constructed to be in step with rapid economic development since 1970's. However, the interest on maintenance of tunnels is far less than the awareness of need for tunnels. As the tunnel maintenance system is the responsive maintenance system which responds to the problems found during the inspection, it will be very difficult to respond to each problem with the limited budget and manpower of the government agencies when the number of aged tunnels rapidly increase in the future. As such, this study presents the need for the LCCA (Life Cycle Cost Analysis) based tunnel asset management system to transform the tunnel maintenance to a preventive management system in a strategic and long-term viewpoint and proposes the framework for development direction. It observed the asset management implementation cases of social infrastructure in other countries and analyzed the need for asset management technique to manage the tunnels in Korea. Moreover, it applied the LCCA model, which is the economic and engineering quantitative decision making technique, for tunnel asset management to present the concrete direction for development of an asset management model and designed the R&D framework to systemize it.

유리화 비정형 탄소(vitreous carbon)를 이용하여 제작한 전계방출 소자의 균일성 증진방법

  • 전계방출을 이용한 평판 표시장치는 CRT가 가진 장점을 모두 갖는 동시에 얇고 가벼우며 낮은 전력소모로 완벽한 색을 구현할 수 있는 차세대 표시장치로서 이에 대한 여국가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 여기에 사용되는 음극물질로서 실리콘이나 몰리 등을 팁모양으로 제작하여 사용해 왔다. 하지만 잔류가스에 의한 역스퍼터링이나 화학적 반응에 의해서 전계방출 성능이 점차 저하되는 등의 해결해야할 많은 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 탄소계 재료로서 다이아몬드, 다이아몬드상 카본 등을 이용하려는 노력이 진행되어 왔다. 이중 유리화 비정형 탄소는 다량의 결함을 가지고 있는 유리질의 고상 탄소 재로로서, 전기전도도가 우수하면서 outgassing이 적고 기계적 강도가 뛰어나며 고온에서도 화학적으로 안정하여 전계방출 소자의 음극재료로서 알맞은 것으로 생각된다. 유리화 비정형 탄소가루를 전기영동법으로 기판에 코팅하여 전계방출 소자를 제작하였다. 전기영동 용액으로 이소프로필알코올에 질산마그네슘과 소량의 증류수, 유리화 비정형 탄소분말을 섞어주었고 기판으로는 몰리(Mo)가 증착된 유리를 사용하였다. 균일한 증착을 위해서 증착후 역전압을 걸어 주는 방법과 증착 후 플라즈마 처리를 하는 등의 여러 가지 방법을 사용했다. 전계방출 전류는 1$\times$10-7Torr이사에서 측정하였다. 1회 제작된 용액으로 반복해서 증착한 횟수에 따라 표면의 거치기, 입자의 분포, 전계방출 측정 결과 등의 차이가 관찰되었다. 발광이미지는 전압에 따라 변화하였고, 균일한 발광을 관찰하기 위해서 오랜 시간동안 aging 과정을 거쳐야 했다. 그리고 구 모양의 양극을 사용해서 위치를 변화시키며 시동 전기장을 관찰하여 위치에 따른 전계방출의 차이를 조사하여 발광의 균일성을 알 수 있었다.on microscopy로 분석하였으며 구조 분석은 X-선 회절분석, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy 그리고Auger electron spectroscope로 하였다. 증착된 산화바나듐 박막의 전기화학적 특성을 분석하기 위하여 리튬 메탈을 anode로 하고 EC:DMC=1:1, 1M LiPF6 액체 전해질을 사용한 Half-Cell를 구성하여 200회 이상의 정전류 충 방전 시험을 행하였다. Half-Cell test 결과 박막의 결정성과 표면상태에 따라 매우 다른 전지 특성을 나타내었다.도상승율을 갖는 경우가 다른 베이킹 시나리오 모델에 비해 효과적이라 생각되며 초대 필요 공급열량은 200kW 정도로 산출되었다. 실질적인 수치를 얻기 위해 보다 고차원 모델로의 해석이 필요하리라 생각된다. 끝으로 장기적인 관점에서 KSTAR 장치의 베이킹 계획도 살펴본다.습파라미터와 더불어, 본 연구에서 새롭게 제시된 주기분할층의 파라미터들이 모형의 학습성과를 높이기 위해 함께 고려된다. 한편, 이러한 학습과정에서 추가적으로 고려해야 할 파라미터 갯수가 증가함에 따라서, 본 모델의 학습성과가 local minimum에 빠지는 문제점이 발생될 수 있다. 즉, 웨이블릿분석과 인공신경망모형을 모두 전역적으로 최적화시켜야 하는 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서, 최근 local minimum의 가능성을 최소화하여 전역적인 학습성과를 높여 주는 인공지능기법으로서 유전자알고리즘기법을 본 연구이 통합모델에 반영하였다. 이에 대한 실증사례 분석결과는 일일 환율예측문제를 적용하였을 경우, 기존의 방법론보다 더 나운 예측성과를 타나내었다.pective" to workflow architectural discussions. Anti-Inhibin Serum 및 Follicular Fluid처리가 한우 난소의 난포발달과 혈중 호르몬변화에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한우 난포발달에 있어서 난포액 및 anti-inhibin serum의 생리적 역할을 검토하기 위해 수행하였다. Anti-inhibin serum(AI)은 항원으로서 porcine inhibin-$\alpha$-subunit 19~32의 peptide를 사용하여 adjuvant 용액을 1:3의 비율로 혼합하여 앙고라종 토끼 5두(체중 2.5kg)에게 주 2회 간격으로 접종 후 얻어진 항혈청을 사용하였다. 난포액(bFF; bovine follicular fluid)은 도축장에서 도축되는 한우 난소로부터 직경 1.0cm 이하의 난포로부터 회수하여 스테로이드를 제거하기 위해 10% chacoal so lution(50 mg/$m\ell$, Norrit-A, Fisher Sci., USA)을 처리하여 45분간 배양후 원심분리후 상층액을 회수하여 실험에 공시하였다. 공시동물은 1산후 정상적으로 발정주기가 반복되는 한우암소 9두를 난소감정후 황체를 확인하여 PGF2$\alpha$제제(lutylase. USA)를 주사하여 발정을 유기한 다음, 난소의 first wave가 시작되는 시기인 배란직후 12시간째부터 4일간 일일 2회 5 $m\ell$씩 총 8회 40 $m\ell$의 AI와 bFF를 각각 경정맥으로 주사하였으며 대조구로서 생리식염수를 주사하였으며 채혈 및 정맥주사를 용이하게 하기 위해 경정맥에 카테타를 설치하여 6시간간격으로 총 200시간까지 채혈하였으며 초음파진단기를 이용하여 난포의 발달을 검토하였다. 채혈후 혈중Inhibin, progesterone 및 Estrad iol-17$\beta$농도의 분석은 RIA 및 ELISA법으로 분석하여 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 혈중 Progesterone농도는 대조구와 AI처리구에서는 배란후 68시간째부터 유의적으로 증가하기 시작하였으나, bFF처리구에서는 배란후 68시간부터 170시간까지 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 낮은 농도를 나타내었다. 이에 반해 혈중 Estradiol-17$\beta$농도는 대조구의 경우 bFF처리구와 비슷한 수준으로 배란후부터 낮은 농도를 유지하였으나, AI 처리구는 배란후 36시간이후부터 108시간까지 유의적으로 높은 수준을 유지하였다가 그 이후 감소되었다. 한편, 혈중 Inhibin농도는 전 구간에서 배란후 84시간까지 불규칙한 농도를 보이다가 bFF처리구에서는 배란후 84시간부터 유의적으로 증가하였다. 배란후 72시간째에 초음파진단기를 이용하여 난소의 난포발달을 조사한 결과 , 대조구와 bFF처리구에 비해 AI처리구에서 발달난포가 유의적으로 많은 것을 확인하였다. 이상과 같은 결과로, Anti-inhibin serum은 한우 자체에서 분비하는 Inhibin을 특이하게 억제하여 Inhibin에 의해 억제되는 FSH분비가 촉진됨으로써 난포발달과 estrogen의 농도가 촉진되는 것으로 사료되어 anti-inhibin serum이 한우의 과배란유기 효과가 있는 것으로 사료된다.

Environmental Survey for Productivity Enhancement of Cultured Fleshy Prawn Penaeus chinensis I. Effect of Sediment and Seawater Quality on Growth (대하양식장의 생산성향상을 위한 환경관리에 관한 연구 I. 대하 양식장의 저질 및 수질특성에 따른 성장)

  • Successive management of prawn farm is strongly dependent upon monitoring of pond seawater quality which is generally influenced by an excessive food supplied sediment type and phytoplankton composition in the pond. For good condition of seawater quality it must need exchangning of fresh seawater by tidal current. Two distinct shrimp ponds Galha and Yunho which were different in seawater exchanging system and sediment type were selected to understand how some factors affected to seawater and sediment qualities in the pond. Prawn growth was also determined. Galha pond characterized by sand bottom with water exchanging by turn of the tidal current accumulated 1.8 mgS/g-dry as sulfide in sediment while Yunho pond mud- bottomed with seawater exchanging of pumping system showed 4.7mgS/g-dry when it was highest, Ammonia-N and hydrogen sulfide measured in the seawater were 0.31mg/${\ell}$ and 21.2 ${\mu}$${\ell}$/${\ell}$in Yunho and 0.10mg/${\ell}$and 10.8${\mu}$${\ell}$/${\ell}$in Galha pond respectively. Dissolved oxygen remained below 6.0mg/${\ell}$ in Galha and 5.0mg/${\ell}$in Yunho pond from June through August. Less growth of prawn was found in Yunho pond than in Galha pond. Prawn growth expressed as body length and weight were 138.3mm 22.9g in Yunho pond while they were length 158.2mm and 28.9g in Galha pond respectively when they were harvested in October. These results indicate that higher levels of ammonia-N and hydrogen sulfide and lower dissolved oxygen in bottom seawater of Yunho pond might affect the growth of cultured prawn.
