  • Reliability analysis-based maintenance system has the merit than elapsed time-based preventive maintenance system. First, it is possible to active handling of rolling stocks failures. In the past, Failure handling activities began when after increase failures rapidly. But if we can continuous manage of reliability than changing of failure tendency can know more quickly. Second, It is possible to using maintenance resources effectively. We can look forward to cost reduction to distributing of much less failures parts's maintenance resources. KORAIL builds reliability system called KTX-RCM for operating high-speed rolling stocks. But existing rolling stocks have not reliability system from the past. Fortunately, KORAIL started ERP system called KOVIS at 2007. KOVIS includes maintenance data for reliability analysis. So in this study analysis failure data for getting reliability number about existing passenger car. And we desire to maintenance connection plan.

A Study on the Preemption Control Strategies Considering Queue Length Constraints (대기행렬길이 제약조건을 고려한 Preemption 제어 전략에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, the signalized intersections in Korea are operated without providing an emergency vehicle preemption control strategy. Thus, it might threaten the safety of the pedestrians and drivers on highways when an emergency vehicle faces congested traffic conditions. The existing preemption control is activated when an emergency vehicle is detected along a path. This enables emergency vehicles to progress uninterrupted, but it also increases the delay of other vehicles. In this paper, a revised preemption control strategy considering queue length restrictions is proposed to make both a progressive movement of an emergency vehicle and reduce delay of other vehicles simultaneously. By applying the preemption control strategy through a simulation study, it was shown that delay of an emergency vehicle decreased to 44.3%-96.1% and speed increased to 8.8%-42.0% in all 9 cases as compared with a conventional signal control. The existing preemption control is superior for oversaturated conditions (v/c >1.0) or a link length less than 200m. However, the preemption control considering queue length constraints shows better performance than the existing preemption control when the v/c is less than 0.8 and a link length is longer than 500m.

  • The capacity of highway is restricted and traffic congestion is caused by increasing traffic demand. Also, greenhouse gases are increased by traffic congestion. CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) is an idea of interest to reduce greenhouse gases. However, CDM's cases applied in traffic field are rare. Thus, it is necessary that methodology to reduce greenhouse gas should be developed and applied to CDM. A methodology for identifying greenhouse gas emissions was developed in this paper. This methodology was developed on the basis of baseline methodology registered at UN. Travel time and speed in the conventional traffic condition and in the automated traffic condition are compared by BPR function. The calculated speed applied to emission factor equation and then $CO_2$ emissions was calculated. A simulation was executed to evaluate the validity of the developed methodology. In the result, advanced vehicle's $CO_2$ emissions are more than conventional vehicle's $CO_2$ emissions in the stable flow condition. However, advanced vehicle's $CO_2$ emissions are less than conventional vehicle's $CO_2$ emissions in the unstable flow condition. It is assure that capacity of highway is enhanced and efficiency of highway is improved by adopting advanced safety vehicle in the smart road.

  • 이미 알려진 바와 같이 차세대 차량에 채용될 동력 시스템의 연구개발이 배출가스 규제에 대한 배기 성능의 획기적 개선에 집중되고 있는 한편, 포괄적 친환경 차량 개발 또한 일반의 관심을 끌고 있다. 현재에 이르기까지 배출가스 규제치 즉, 대기로 배출되는 질소산화물(NOx), 입자상물질(Particulate Matter, PM) 및 미연탄화수소 등에 대한 정량적 규제치의 만족여부가 차량의 친환경 여부를 가리는 척도로 주로 인식되어 왔으나, 금후 보다 본격적으로 완성차량 조립을 위한 전 제품의 제조과정으로부터 차량 폐기까지를 총괄한 포괄적 환경 영향 평가가 필수 불가결한 요소로 등장하리라 예측된다.   • 차량에 있어서 제동장치가 차지하는 중요도는 다른 부품에 비하여 매우 크다고 말할 수 있겠다. 그래서 차량 brake system을 적용하는데 있어서 가장 기초가 되는 수식 및 일반사항을 설명 함으로써 차량과 brake 관계를 넓게 이해하고 가장 적합한 제동장치의 설계에 도움을 주려는 데 본 기술의 목적이 있다. 우선 차량제원에 맞는 brake 성능에 관하여 생각하여 보자. 2개의 차 축을 갖고 있는 차량에서 제동할 경우 전 후 차축(front axle, rear axle)의 동하중(dynamic weight)은 정지상태 때의 하중과는 달라지게 된다. 그러므로 brake 성능은 이 동하중의 분배에 좌우되는 것이다.

Safety Improvement of Installation of "Hi-pass" System at Expressway Toll Gate (교통상충기법을 이용한 고속도로 하이패스차로 안전성 개선에 관한 연구 (서울외곽순환고속도로 본선영업소를 중심으로))

  • This study analyzed the relative vehicle speed and vehicle deceleration time caused by traffic conflicts using vehicle speed data at expressway toll gates and traffic conflict occurrence data. According to the analysis, the greater the relative vehicle speed is at the toll gate, the more sudden vehicle deceleration occurs due to traffic conflicts. In particular, a comparison study of cases in similar operating conditions presents a finding that usage of lanes influences traffic conflict occurrences as well as relative vehicle speed. With this finding, the study further conducted a quantitative analysis of the accident rates in relation to the relative vehicle speed between vehicles using a "Hi-Pass" lane and a regular lane at the toll gate. It indicates that when the relative vehicle speed is greater, the accident rate is higher due to sudden vehicle deceleration and shorter deceleration time. Furthermore, when the expressway entrance/exit point is closely located to a toll gate and the relative vehicle speed is great, a analysis at a traffic conflict shows a low value.

  • 차량 운행이 많은 고속도로, 주차장, 교량 등의 불투수 면적에서 발생하는 비점오염 물질은 차량에서 발생하는 배기가스와 연료, 부품 등이 비강우시 노면에 축적된 후 강우시 유출되는 특징을 가진다. 고속도로 휴게소의 경우 넓은 부지에 주차장이 위치하고, 대부분 불투수면으로 설계되었으며 차량이용대수에 따라 수질오염물질, 중금속 등이 축적되어 강우시 초기에 다량의 오염물질이 유출되는 특징을 가진다. 특히, 휴게소 노면 배출지점에서 강우시 약간의 탁수 유입과 함께 유기물, 영양염류의 농도가 다소 높았으며, 중금속은 주로 Pb, Cu, Zn의 농도가 높게 나타나는 것으로 연구 되었다. 본 연구는 고속도로 휴게소에서 발생하는 오염물질의 특성을 파악하기 위해 실시하였다. 휴게소 및 고속도로 인근에서 평시 발생하는 오염원의 차량 기인 여부를 판단하기 위해 비강우시 고속도로 노면 및 휴게소 오염원 배출 지점에서 토사 및 입자 샘플링을 실시하였으며, 이를 통해 입자에 흡착된 중금속 오염도 및 차량기인 여부를 판단하였다. 본 연구를 통해 고속도로 휴게소에서의 초기강우시 오염물질 처리방안 계획 수립시 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Applicability of Emergency Preemption Signal Control under UTIS (UTIS를 이용한 긴급차량 우선신호 제어방안)

  • Even thought the firefighters have to hurry to the scene to extinguish the blaze, the fire engines could not rushed out due to the worst of traffic condition. Traffic signal control is one of the most important methods to minimize the fire engines's travel time. The focus of this paper is to develop a traffic control strategy, which is emergency vehicle preemption algorithm considering pedestrian in order to reduce travel time of emergency vehicle. This algorithm also includes recovering strategy after preemption signal to minimize the other vehicle's delay. In order to estimate the effectiveness of traffic control, traffic simulation was performed using VISSIM micro simulation tool for two different kinds of networks, which were non-coordinated corridor and coordinated corridor. The differences of travel time and average delay between emergency vehicle and ordinary vehicle were respectively estimated under pre-existed pretimed signal and preemption traffic control at two respective networks. The results of the simulation for the emergency vehicle, travel time was reduced to 36.8~43.3% under "Add or Subtract" method whereas it was reduced to 30.7~46.0% under "Dwell" method. In addition, in non-coordinated corridor case of ordinary vehicle, average control delay of "Dwell" method was increased 33.5% whereas it grew 0.5% under coordinated corridor. And "Add or Subtract" method was confirmed that average control delay of ordinary vehicle was increased 0.7% under non-coordinated corridor whereas it swelled 4.5% under coordinated corridor.

  • G-Sensor is being used for controlling motion of smart-phone and robot. G-Sensor can control motion to several direction, because it is composed of X, Y, and Z axis and also can be used on many mobile-phone by using Wi-Fi communication and RS-232C communication on the Bluetooth module. In this research, we suggest the application that realize and develop visual-vehicle-remote-control-system by using mobile-phone with G-Sensor so that drivers can more easily remote control and manage their vehicle with mobile-phone in real-time visual.
