  • Design is one of diverse human communication activities. Development of technologies has led to execution of more active design communication functions, stirring social and cultural changes. The concept of design communication has become stronger by overcoming the limitations of verbal communication and expanding the methods of communication. These social changes are highlighted In the design of modern space. Even though communication in interior design activities is so important, detailed studies on communication of each entity are still very insufficient. Design communication refers to tools and activities for overall communications in the design process. In design activities, relevant communication is indispensible. Therefore, studies on practical communication methods are essential for accurate communication of content that has to be shared in the results or in the process of obtaining the results, rather than only focusing on the future techniques and functions of design. In other words, improving the efficiency of interior design communication requires establishing a communication relationship structure of each entity, which calls for proper expression methods depending on each entity. Therefore, this study is aimed at exploring efficient expression methods in line with the relationship structure of each entity in the interior design process.

  • The change in the social paradigm has been directly reflected in design. Throughout the conversion of design paradigm based on ecological paradigm, ecological design and green design make it possible to sustain society and improve the quality of human life. Also, the conversion of design paradigm mean that it changed from Male-identified and Male-dominated design to feminism design, which emphasizes femininity. Because the characteristic of ecological design and feminism design can be understood in the same context. Feminism design is not the kind of design that embodies the stereotype of social gender but the design that reflects the femininity which can be conferred as emotional, intuitional, mutual, sharing, organic and natural. If the result of design recognizes the diversities and differences of the users -based on the female users' experiences and knowledge- and if the need and the requirement of the design are useful enough, through the unity with human environment and harmonious participation, Eco-design and Feminism design will use their abilities to sustain the society and to enhance the quality of human life.

  • The study investigated trends in wall-covering displays in interior design stores. Although studies reported design trends at well-known exhibitions overseas such as Heimtextil and Maison objet, many different cases present actual realistic design flows. This study analyzes the actual market flow rather than design as an exhibition concept, and presents the interior CMF trends in 2019. The CMF design of wall-covering displayed in New York D&D Building in 2019 can be summarized as follows: W was the most frequently seen show-window, but like R, which is a strong color, it is also used to convey surrealistic images. The store entrance was designed to attract consumers' attention inside, and was constructed to reflect the actual trend. In the 2019 New York market, the wall-covering of Gray and YR were displayed through the shop entrance to suggest substantial sales. In addition, the demand for gold metallic wall-covering is significant as gold was strong in many forms. This study represents a valuable resource to identify trends in wall-covering from 2017 to 2019 compared with previous studies. This study represents a valuable foundation for a wide range of topics related to the use of wall-covering for interior decoration.

  • 시트 커버 직물은 철도차량 내부 인테리어와 실내를 구성하며, 시각적으로 커버 직물의 디자인 요소 중 패턴과 쾌적한 커버지가 철도차량에 대한 전체적인 이미지를 형성하게 된다. 본 연구는 한국인의 감성에 따른 시트 패던 디자인과 쾌적한 시트 커버 직물의 요건을 제시하고자 한다. 디자인 분석체계는 패턴 디자인의 최소단위를 Pattern Primitive(PP), 최소 반복 단위를 Repealed Pattern Unit(RPU)로 개념화하여 분류하여 파악한다. 또한 쾌적하고 안락한 시트를 위해서 착석 상태에서의 열수분 전달특성과 직물의 발수도, 일광견뢰도, 마찰견뢰도, Q-max, 공기투과도, 마찰대전압 등 물리적 특성을 비교한다.

  • After the first-ever international espresso coffee shop Starbucks Korea opened its first branch near Ewha University in Korea, positioning of divers foreign cultures among us and changes of life style due to the gross income growth have leaded to the growth of the number of needs for espresso coffee shops and, therefore, international espresso shops have been launching their shops in Korea. While the foreign shops have been holding most of the domestic market share, domestic espresso coffee shops like Hollys and Angel-In-Us have been penetrating the market with differentiated marketing strategies that a espresso coffee shop is no longer considered as just a shop, but a cultural product to Korean. Along with the recent changes, customers have started to laying emphasis on interior and each of the domestic coffee shops has been changing its interior designs by establishing own brand identification. Base on the Starbucks' success case, the domestic coffee shops have been adopting emotional marketing which would stimulate and arouse customers' emotions. The purpose of this study is to present systematic data which would be applied in an espresso coffee shop planning by researching applied emotional design elements of the domestic coffee shops interior designs in depth and finding their characteristics.

  • The current global spread of communal residential culture and the trend of continuing increase of newly built apartment environment are increasing the demand of home network products for each residential space and among households. The continuing advancement of ubiquitous and the introduction and development of home network system are promoting the demand for the product design. The residential culture change and the apartment interior design change are having mutual effects on the lifestyle of residents and the product design and demand new product design. Coordination with interior products, interior style and products, product and fashion design and reconstruction and fusion between the products and their element factors are the core element of this design study. Based on this, integrated design strategy and concept research and analysis were studied for the design process, and have been expressed in three dimension design through which the design functionality and the external aesthetical design can correspond to each other. It's because the aspect of the future development prospect can be predicted in detail by presenting practical design plan.
