Responsive new media art research using digital technology (디지털 기술을 활용한 반응형 뉴미디어 아트 연구)

  • Art work based on computer and internet media technologies such as digital art, computer art, internet art, interactive art. Through examples, we studied the interaction and communication method between the audience and the exhibition objects. It was confirmed that the new media works are expressed in a new form by fusion with various technologies of experimental propensity, and research and analysis of overseas media-related exhibition cases and interactive media use cases of works exhibited at the 'Media City Exhibition' in Korea were conducted. Was able to confirm the main characteristics of new media art. I think it will be a more meaningful study by setting specific criteria and focusing on the fields of application of new media art and comparing and analyzing the future values of the times.

  • 인터랙티브아트의 상호작용이라는 관점에서 볼 때 관객과 작품이 상호작용하기 위해선 하드웨어적인 장치가 필수적으로 존재해야 한다. Kinect Sensor는 인체를 구성하는 다양한 관절의 좌표를 추출하는 기능을 통해 실시간으로 모션트래킹을 가능하게 하고 이것을 다양한 컨텐츠에 적용하여 활용 할 수 있다. 이 논문은 인체의 관절좌표를 기반으로한 사용자의 2D, 3D아바타를 생성하는 과정에 대해 기술한다. 각각의 방법은 서로 다른 제작방식과 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 컨텐츠의 성격에 따라 적용할 수 있고 앞으로 이러한 인터랙션적인 부분과 컨텐츠 분야를 연구할 계획이다.

  • This paper aims to not giving one time pleasure nor curiosity, but applying and sharing philosophical discourse for contemporary citizens with reflectivity in a realm of media art. This paper shows the result from the class which the author conducted with philosophical discourse, case analysis, ideation and progress into practical works. Through the process of doing ideation and realization of media art work with students, this paper shows that theory and practice can be harmonized and penetrated into deeper level with diverse interface experiments.

  • 본 논문에서는 전시 공간에서 전시 콘텐츠를 그냥 지나치거나 적극적으로 상호작용하려 하지 않는 관람객의 관심과 흥미를 이끌어 내기 위하여 어포던스(affordance, 행위 유발성) 특성을 반영한 인터랙티브 아트 콘텐츠 설계에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 이를 위하여, 우선, HCI 나 인지심리 영역에서 다루고 있는 어포던스 이론을 고찰하고, 특히 전시 공간에 나타나는 어포던스의 요소를 연구한 기존 연구들 분석하였다. 이를 기반으로 사람들의 행동과 흥미를 유발 시킬 수 있는 전시공간에 적합한 어포던스 기반 멀티 모달 인터페이스 설계 방향을 제시하였다. 또한, 제시된 멀티 모달 인터페이스 설계 특성을 반영하여 터치 스크린을 이용한 멀티 모달 미디어 아트 콘텐츠를 설계 제작하였다.

  • Among the properties of new media art works, interaction with audience has now become a big issue, and its influence to general arts, in particular media art, is being stressed more and more. Under the this influence, various experimental works using digital media are being produced and having a try to combination of art and multimedia technology on the network. This paper analyses studies about netart and suggests visualization expression of color data to be interactive between users and art works. The work is to make formative elements based fluid shapes on the analysis of color data extracted from images. This is a new experiment in picturesque expression of data and aesthetic visualization of data.

  • Development of digital media and computer graphics related research had changed the overall stream of cultural art and our daily life, as well as its development also had an effect on a fresh and exciting area of cultural arts such as the new media art, interactive art and real-time performing. In this paper, we used emotional expression techniques that they lead audiences on the process of natural communication by combining the particle system of computer graphics with performance based screen art. Namely, by capturing the creation and location speed of particle which is synchronized between the sound, behavior and particles, performance based screen art as the form of the experimental structure in which is combined with scientific technology and art is therefore proposed.

  • As digital media technology continues to evolve, media arts are being created using new technologies. Among them, interactive media provides new experience and interest to the audience in that the audience is completed only by participating in the works. The use of these characteristics as a marketing strategy has led to an increase in sales and a positive image of the company. Through this study, we analyze the case of interactive media contents and infer the usage plan and elements. In addition, we propose a prototype of interactive media contents that can be used as a strategic marketing element by exploring ways to utilize interactive media as a marketing element of the film industry. This suggests the development direction of interactive media that provides a continuous and new sense of immersion to the audience, and suggests subsequent research on effective use of the industry as well as movie marketing.

  • The development of information & communication technology in 21st century along with the mass media In 20th century, the influence of state-of-art culture in our society rapidly increased in these days. This state-of-art culture makes the world becomes single-channeled by network, and there is a big change not only in human life but also in concept and understand for art and space. The development of digital paradigm and media technology is exerting a strong influence on the Ubiquitous computing environment that is being drawn great interest. The ubiquitous is concerned as expansion of media art, and the interactive art which is part of media art has the similarity with the ubiquitous computing environment. In this study, the possibility of connection between the territory of ubiquitous environment which is recently focused and has strong interrelation feature, and the territory of interacting will be examined. Furthermore, possibility of new space design work through seeking the possibility of connection between two territories will be estimated.

  • The latest, Digital art is attempt new field's Art, that is utilize variously digital media image, sound, simulation, 3D holography. A large number of Digital Art is contact with the audience in pavilion(limit place and limit period). However, It will be possible, Digital Art can use place digital form media even there are indoor, outdoor, anywhere. Prior to study, I was to analyze the feature of Digital Art in order to using Digital Art, Interactivity make communication between humans and the art as well as cause audience participation, and take a role of bridge between human and space. A study was base on the relationship between human and space, space and Digital Art, Digital Art and human taken the focus interaction between human and space, and Interactivity of Digital Art. This paper analyze reciprocal action for utilize Digital Art in indoor space design, and this paper study expression about indoor design base of interactive.

  • Development of digital technology is advancing to levels which influence the formation of city landscapes and spaces. The use of media facade is creating modernized city-spaces with contemporary application of various digital mediums. In this way, media facade functions as media-art in an artistic point of view, while also providing the means for buildings to become landmarks in a city-scape point of view. Going a step further, media facade using interaction is drawing a lot of attention as it enables communication with the city inhabitants instead of one-way contents provision. This paper will research such interactive media facade using transparent display glass currently being used as construction building material and its potential growth.
