The instant messenger is not only a wonderful tool for individuals. It is also a great tool which provides real-time dialogue and file transfers for individuals via the Internet and improves an enterprise productivity. However, it has many security risks that may have significant impact in corprate environments. This paper provides an overview of the security risks of the instant messenger with a risk analysis method and the controls that can be used to make it secure. It's hard to eliminate the instant messenger from enterprise environments because of its benefits. If we cannot avoid using it, we must make it secure and reap the full benefits of it.

본 논문에서는 인터넷 메신저를 위한 새로운 감성 인터페이스를 제안한다. 이는 상용 인터넷 메신저에 시각과 촉각 정보를 이용한 입력과 표현 기술을 적용하여 원격지 사용자 간의 감성 교류의 증대를 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 문헌조사 및 메신저 사용자 설문조사를 기반으로 감정에 대한 분류 및 응용 대상이 되는 주요 감정을 추출하였고, 이를 바탕으로 시각과 촉각적 정보를 포함하는 visual icon으로써 ECON(Emotional ICON)을 정의하였다. 이 ECON은 ECON Editor를 이용하여 생성, 수정, 표현 확인이 가능하도록 하였고, ECON Player, 즉 실제 형체를 가지고 ECON의 동작 정보를 표현하는 새로운 장치를 제작하였다. 이러한 ECON 시스템을 인터넷 메신저와 연동하여 메신저의 이모티콘처럼 ECON을 사용함으로써 상대방의 감정을 시각적, 촉각적으로 표현함과 동시에 직관적인 입력을 제공하여 Emotional Interface 환경을 구축하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 ECON의 정의, ECON Editor의 구현, 키보드받침과 입술 모양으로 형상화된 ECON Player의 제작 및 메신저와 연동되어 동작하는 전체 ECON시스템에 관하여 설명하고, 또한 메신저 응용에 기반한 Emotional Interface에 대한 사용자의 평가와 향후 연구 방향에 대해서 기술한다.

최근 인스턴트 메신저의 사용이 급증하고 있으며 무선에서도 서비스가 시작되고 있다. 현재 무선 인스턴트 메신저는 WAP을 사용하여 서비스되고 있다. 하지만, WAP을 사용할 경우 인스턴트 메신저 서비스를 받기 위해서는 항상 단말기를 무선 인터넷에 연결하여야 하는 제약이 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 구조는 SMS를 사용하여 무선 인터넷을 연결해야 할 경우에만 서버측에서 단말기에 SMS메시지를 보내게 하고, 이 메시지를 받으면 자동으로 무선 인터넷으로 연결하여 불필요한 무선 인터넷 연결 시간을 줄임으로써 비용절감의 효과를 가지도록 설계하였다.

통신 기술의 발달로 인해 유선 인터넷뿐만 아니라 무선 인터넷이 급속히 보급되고 있다 또한 desktop PC뿐만 아니라 개인 정보 단말기 (이하 PDA)와 휴대폰과 같은 여러 종류의 단말기를 이용한 인터넷 사용이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문은 이미 desktop PC에서 일반화된 인스턴트 메신저를 여러 가지 단말기에 적용하여 통합 운영하는 기술에 대하여 논한다. 개발된 인스턴트 메신저는Windows CE 3.0을 05로 사용하는 PDA 및 Handhold PC와 일반 desktop PC에서 운용된다. 본 인스턴트 메신저는 실시간으로 사용자의 상태를 상대방에게 알려줄 수 있으며, 메시지 전송이나, 다자간 대화, 메일 송수신 기능, 파일 송수신과 같은 기능을 통합적으로 수행할 수 있다. 본 인스턴트 메신저는 desktop PC와 PDA간에 통신을 가능하게 함으로서 활용 가치가 크다고 할 수 있다.

네트워크와 휴대 무선 장비의 발달로 데스크 탑 PC에서만 사용할 수 있었던 각종 인터넷 서비스들이 무선 단말기를 지원하고, 확장되기 시작했다. 이에 따라 휴대 단말기에서 웹에 접근하기 위한 응용 프로토콜인 WAP의 표준화가 빠르게 확산되고 WML을 지원하는 WAP 브라우저를 탑재한 인터넷폰의 개발이 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 휴대 무선 장비와 PC간에 메시지를 전달하는 기법을 설계하고 인터넷상에서 폭발적인 이용률을 보이는 인스턴트 메신저에 이 기법을 적용하여 휴대 무선 장비에서도 인스턴트 메신저를 사용할 수 있는 시스템을 구현한다.

Design correct new protocol to Mobile Office Environment messenger in this treatise, and analyzed existentprotocol and comparison. Also, examine characteristic of rendezvous server that was optimized in MOE-MP protocol and analyzed efficiency. MOE-MP that design newly based on basic syntax of XMPP optimized to Mobile Office Environment.

Instant Messenger is one of the most popular communication service when translating message or data each other through Internet. For digital crime investigation, therefore, it is obviously important to obtain communication trace and contents derived from Instant Messenger. This is because that gathering traditional communication histories also have been important until now. However, extracting communication trace and contents are not easy because they are generally encrypted or obfuscated in local system, futhermore, sometimes they are located at server computer for Instant Messenger. This paper researches on extracting communication histories against NateOn, BuddyBuddy, Yahoo! messenger and Mi3 messenger, and obtaining user password or bypassing authentication system to Instant Messenger Service when a user use auto-login option.

컴퓨터와 네트워크의 보급이 일반화되면서 인터넷을 통한 정보 전달이 일상 생활처럼 되고 있다. 기존에는 정보를 전달하기 위한 방법이 주로 전자메일에 한정되오 있던 것에 반해, 요즘은 좀 더 즉각적으로 메시지를 전달해주는 인스턴트메신저를 많이 사용하고 있다. 인스턴트 메신저는 이러한 장점으로 인해 국내에서도 사용자가 급속하게 늘고 있다. 현재 사용되고 있는 대부분의 인스턴트 메신저는 전송되는 정보가 아무런 보호장치 없이 네트워크를 통해 전송되어 제 3자에 의한 도청이 가능하게 된다. 따라서 전송되는 정보의 암호화를 포함하는 안전한 인스턴트 메신저 서비스의 필요성이 대두되고있다. 본 논문에서 제안된 안전한 인스턴트 메신저는 사용자 개인이 메신저 서버에게 전송하는 개인정보를 암호화하고, 사용자간에 전송되는 정보를 선택적으로 암호화하여 잠재적인 보안문제를 해결하였다. 그리고 시스템 설계는 일반 사용자도 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 사용자 편의성에 중점을 두었다.

As computers and networks become popular, distributing information on the Internet is common in our daily life. In the past, e-mail has been the primary choice of exchanging information, but instant messengers are gaining popularity abroad and domestically because of their nature of getting immediate reponses. However a instant messenger services have the exposure of data on internet but clients use them without recognizing their exposure. It's like phone tapping. The coding technology using Public Key Cryptosystem has developed the public key infrastructure to be able to do the services of Access-control, Authentication, Confidentiality, Integrity. and Non-repudiation with internet. It is a thesis that suggests the certification protocol in a instant messenger using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) for secure communication.

컴퓨터와 네트워크의 보급이 일반화되면서 인터넷을 통한 정보 전달이 일상 생활처럼 되고 있다. 이러한 현상에 맞추어 등장한 인스턴트 메신저는 즉각적인 메시지의 전달이라는 장점으로 인해 국내에서도 사용자가 급속히 늘고 있다. 그러나 현재와 같이 아무런 보호장치 없이 네트워크를 통해 사용자 정보나 메시지가 노출되면 잠재적 보안 위험이 따르게 되며, 전송되는 정보의 암호화를 포함하는 안전한 인스턴트 메신저 서비스의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 보안 기능이 포함된 안전한 인스턴트 메신저를 설계하고 자바 언어를 이용하여 구현하였으며, 시스템 설계는 일반 사용자도 쉽게 사용할 수 있고 관리가 편리한 시스템에 역점을 두었다.
