인터넷 포털 사이트 다음의 조사 자료에 의하면 지난 몇 년간 인기 애완동물 베스트 10위 중 1위 개, 2위 고양이, 3위 물고기, 4위 새, 5위 거북이, 6위 햄스터, 7위 원숭이, 8위 뱀, 9위 이구아나, 10위 전갈 등 이었으니, 최근에는 마니아들로부터 한때 인기를 누렸던 기니피그와 고슴도치 이구아나의 등의 감소세가 두드러지고 새롭게 타란툴라(Tarantula)와 같은 이탈리아 맹독성 거미와 같은 독특하고 특이한 동물들이 개성시대에 걸맞게 새롭게 인기군으로 부상하고 있는 추세이다.

국내 데이터베이스 시장은 정보 선진국인 미국이나 일본에 비해 전체 매출 규모나 데이터베이스 단위당 매출 규모가 매우 뒤떨어져 있다. 이는 이용 측면에서 국내 이용자들이 유료 정보에 대한 인식이나 비즈니스 활동에 있어서 정보의 중요성에 대한 인식이 아직 취약하고, 제공 측면에서는 고품질의 정보 콘텐츠가 적다는데 근본 원인이 있다. 기존에는 데이터베이스 사업자의 주요 수익 모델이 유료 회원 제도를 통한 회원 수입이나 정보 이용료를 통한 종량제 수입이 주류를 이뤘다. 하지만 최근에는 정보의 유통 매체가 웹으로 발전함에 따라 인터넷의 포털사이트를 통한 정보가 폭발적으로 증가하고 있다. 때문에 기존 정보제공 사업자들은 웹이라는 강력한 매체를 통해 자신의 정보에 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 부가해 수익을 창출하고, 콘텐츠간 융합 또는 기존의 오프라인 비즈니스 모델과 융합하는 등 다양한 형태의 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

멜로디를 흥얼거리는 허밍 동작만으로도 원하는 음악 콘텐츠를 찾아주는 검색 엔진이 등장했다. 엔터테인먼트 솔루션 개발업체 나요미디어는 노래 제목이나 가수 이름을 몰라도 머릿속에 떠오르는 음을 읊조리는 행위만으로도 해당 음악을 검색해주는 클라이언트서버 방식의 음악검색 엔진‘뮤진’을 특허 받아 이목이 집중되고 있다. 나요미디어는 이번에 개발한 이 허밍 검색 엔진을 올 하반기부터 국내 주요 인터넷 포털과 이동통신서비스를 통해 일반 이용자들에게 서비스할 예정이다. 특허를 받았다는 소식에 도곡동에 위치한 나요미디어 사무실을 찾았다.

지난 호에는 부정적인 언론사 오보의 경우에 명예훼손의 판단기준은 어떠하며 피해자들에게 어떤 권리와 절차가 있는지를 살펴보았다. 요약하면 공익적이지 못한 보도(진실 여부와 상관없이), 공익적이지만 진실하지 못한 보도, 공익적이지만 언론의 주의의무(상당성)를 다하지 못한 보도는 손해배상책임을 지는 불법적 보도이며, 손해배상 정정보도 등 보도로 인한 피해 구제를 법원보다 간편하고 신속하게 받을 수 있는 기관으로 언론중재위원회(이하 중재위)가 있다는 것이다. 이번 호에는 이어서 포털 뉴스 및 근거 없는 게시글에 대해서 대응하는 방법과 최근에 나온 판례에 대해 설명하고자 한다.

음성은 컴퓨터와 인간 사이의 인터페이스로서 지속적인 연구가 되어 왔다. VoiceXML로 구현된 음성 포털 서비스는 사용자의 음성 질의에 따라 정보를 검색하고 청취할 수 있는 기술로서 현재 다양한 컨텐츠로 서비스가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전화나 인터넷 전화 프로그램으로 상가의 위치, 전화 번호, 상가 소개 등의 정보를 음성으로 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 VoiceXML을 이용하여 구현하여 보았다. 웹과 연동할 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하고 다양한 다이얼로그를 표현하기 위해 특히, JSP를 이용하고 각 로직을 자바빈즈 컴포넌트로 구현하였다.

최근 들어 인터넷 게시판이나 개인 블로그 등은 온라인상에서 사람들의 정보 공유나 의견 교환의 중요한 매체가 되고 있다. 많은 수의 블로그들은 현재 사회적으로 이슈가 되는 여러 문제들을 반영하고 있다. 또한 최근 댓글을 통해 적극적으로 자신의 의사 표현하거나 다른 사람들의 의견을 살피는 인터넷 사용자의 증가로 인터넷 뉴스나 블로그 기사에 많은 수의 댓글이 달리고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 블로그나 인터넷 포털 사이트의 경우 기사나 댓글들을 순차적인 목록 형태로 제공하므로 자신이 원하는 내용의 댓글을 검색하거나 전체 댓글에 대한 전반적인 파악은 힘든 일이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기사에 달린 많은 수의 댓글들을 분류하고, 이를 시각화 하는 시스템인 TRIB(Telescope for Responding comments for Internet Blog)을 제안한다. TRIB은 미리 정의된 사용자 정의 사전을 이용하여 댓글을 내용에 따라 분류하여 시각화 하므로 사용자들은 자신의 관심과 흥미에 따라 개인화 된 뷰를 볼 수 있다. 1,000개 이상의 댓글을 가진 뉴스 기사들을 대상으로 한 실험을 통해 TRIB 시스템의 댓글 분류와 시각화 성능을 보인다.

This study reviews planning support systems (PSS) in the context of the development processes of urban models(focusing on Land-Use Transport Models, LUTM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), both of which are key components of PSS supporting spatial plannings like urban and regional planning. It also explores changing planning environments like increased demands of citizen participation, especially in the environmental sector like global warming, and intensified development of Information technologies based on Internet and mobile networks. As a conclusion this study proposes a prototype of portal service to support low-carbon city planning to mitigate the greenhouse gas as an alternative to supplement or reinforce PSS, reflecting the changing planning environments.

With the development of information and communication technology, especially wireless Internet technology and the spread of smart phones, digital data has increased. As a result, privacy issues which concerns about exposure of personal sensitive information are increasing. In this paper, we analyze the privacy vulnerability of online big data in domestic internet environment, especially focusing on portal service, and propose a measure to evaluate the possibility of privacy violation. For this purpose, we collected about 50 million user posts from the potal service contents and extracted the personal information. we find that potal service user can be identified by the extracted personal information even though the user id is partially anonymized. In addition, we proposed a risk measurement evaluation method that reflects the possibility of personal information linkage between service using partial anonymized ID and personal information exposure level.

The purpose of this study is to examine the current state of illegal distribution of literary works on internet cafes and homepages, and figure out how to protect the rights of copyright holders. For this study, examined were the cafes and menus of homepages of major Websites on the Internet, where illegal copying and delivery of literary works could happen. For each Website, the volumes of the entire collection, the number of literary works held, the maximum and average number of transactions were investigated, and literary works categorized according to genres were analyzed. The result shows that the strict legislation and regulation by government or copyright organizations could hinder the positive distribution of awareness about the copyright : but, still strongly needed is the promotion and education of the importance of copyright to help the public understand better. Providers of portal services should take a proper step to strengthen the training of and systematic support for copyright-related issues for both operators and users of cafes and homepages on Websites.
