On the contrary to the steady rise of social problems about depression, only a few take care of mental health themselves due to their negative perception of psychotherapy. In this study, we propose service design and user interface design of mobile applications that introduce an automatic emotional recognition system to prevent leaving depression unattended. First, we have come up with improvements in the usability of existing apps through literature research and case analysis, and draw out Personas from surveys and in-depth interviews of young people. As an essential element of the design of the Depression Improvement Service, we recommend having three components: writing a diary to manage schedule, recognize users' emotional state through avatar management, and tracking down emotional points to improve the cognitive system. Through this proposal, we want to prevent the development of depression and help to resolve the changes in perception of depression and longitude depression on our own. Ultimately, we publicize the necessity of mental health care application design and expect to lower the personal and social costs for psychiatric care.
Assuming that the whole meaning of a document is a composition of the meanings of each part, this paper proposes to study the automatic grading of movie reviews which contain sentimental expressions. This will be accomplished by calculating the values of semantic segments and performing data classification for each review. The ARSSA(The Automatic Rating System for Sentiment analysis using an Appraisal dictionary) system is an effort to model decision making processes in a manner similar to that of the human mind. This aims to resolve the discontinuity between the numerical ranking and textual rationalization present in the binary structure of the current review rating system: {rate: review}. This model can be realized by performing analysis on the abstract menas extracted from each review. The performance of this system was experimentally calculated by performing a 10-fold Cross-Validation test of 1000 reviews obtained from the Naver Movie site. The system achieved an 85% F1 Score when compared to predefined values using a predefined appraisal dictionary.
This study aims to contribute to the existing literature in creativity from the viewpoint of neuro-physiological analysis. Further, we looked at emotional influences on creativity within a business problem-solving context that implemented the use of a cognitive map in exploring creativity. For this purpose, we measured brain cortical activity as people solved a business strategy problem to explore the neural mechanisms of "insight problems" that are influenced by distinct emotions. Through an Electroencephalography (EEG) analysis of 34 qualified participants, we investigated the relationship between emotions and business problem-solving creativity (BPSC). Insightful results were derived such that participants primed in a negative condition evoked higher temporal alpha band activity compared to those primed in the positive condition. Meanwhile, there were no significant differences between two priming conditions on the other band activities. Therefore, this study sheds a very positive light on the scholarly value of conducting rigorous studies about the relationship between emotional states and BPSC status.
Building human-aligned artificial intelligence (AI) for social support remains challenging despite the advancement of Large Language Models. We present a novel method, the Chain of Empathy (CoE) prompting, that utilizes insights from psychotherapy to induce LLMs to reason about human emotional states. This method is inspired by various psychotherapy approaches-Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Reality Therapy (RT)-each leading to different patterns of interpreting clients' mental states. LLMs without CoE reasoning generated predominantly exploratory responses. However, when LLMs used CoE reasoning, we found a more comprehensive range of empathic responses aligned with each psychotherapy model's different reasoning patterns. For empathic expression classification, the CBT-based CoE resulted in the most balanced classification of empathic expression labels and the text generation of empathic responses. However, regarding emotion reasoning, other approaches like DBT and PCT showed higher performance in emotion reaction classification. We further conducted qualitative analysis and alignment scoring of each prompt-generated output. The findings underscore the importance of understanding the emotional context and how it affects human-AI communication. Our research contributes to understanding how psychotherapy models can be incorporated into LLMs, facilitating the development of context-aware, safe, and empathically responsive AI.
In this study, we consider the integration of cognitive components and emotion to account for communication behaviors and activism on a consumer advocacy website. The challenge of integrating situational theory and anger activism model was empirically explored utilizing an online survey with the members of the virtual community, which was designed to raise issues and to protest against the product defects of a product. Our findings indicated that along with the cognitive perception in the situational theory, anger as a negative emotion was the most significant predictor strongly associated with communication behaviors and activism on the organization. More interestingly, the model that integrates anger with cognitive components significantly improves its explanatory power compared with one including only cognitive components as explanatory variables.
This study has verified the process of helping actors recognize their sexual problems linked to sexual violence cases through early sexual experience history, and exploring and insighting the stuck feelings of sexual violence actors through psychodrama, which focuses on expressing behavior and emotions. The research questions were divided into sexual violence cases and perceptions of actors, actual insights through psychodrama, and dealt with past biblical history related to actors' events and events, exploration of childhood trauma, and insights and changes in emotions through psychodrama. The results from the study are as follows. First, they showed low self-understanding levels and frequent use of defense mechanisms against sexual violence cases in an environment related to cases involving sexual offenders, and were aware of the problematic factors affecting the cases in the course of their daily lives, but did not take them seriously. Second, there were many distorted masculinity and adult sites related to participants' biblical experience history. In the early experience of sexual activity, it was often viewed as a sexual object rather than an emotional exchange with a lover, and the contents of the initial Bible experience were linked to actual sexual violence cases committed by participants. Third, childhood trauma of participants through psychodrama led to rapidly changing family circumstances and abuse by fathers. Fourth, the actual content of emotions represented by anger in the early stages of psychodrama is meaningful in that it revealed the process of sadness, pain, regret and longing for a departing mother leading to objective insight into emotions through the catharsis process.

Recent years have seen an explosion of interest in interactive agents motivating human learners to engage in edutainment systems which are designed to be entertaining and educational at the same time. Especially, work on socio-emotional processes has focus on understanding of human's social behavior in training and entertainment a applications. In contrast with work on social emotion, where research groups have developed detailed models of emotional processes, models of personality have emphasized shallow surface behavior. Here, we build on computational appraisal models of emotion to better characterize dispositional differences in how people come to understand social situations. Known as explanatory style, this dispositional factor plays a key role in social interactions and certain socio-emotional disorders, such as depression. Building on appraisal and attribution theories, we model key conceptual variables underlying the explanatory style, and enable agents to exhibit different explanatory tendencies with respect to their personalities. Furthermore, we developed an interactive AR agent based on our framework and applied it into an interactive teaming system that allows participants to explore individual differences in the explanation of social events, with the goal of encouraging the development of perspective laking and emotion-regulatory skills.
Objectives: The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the effects of a mindfulness-based Body-Mind Intervention Program using marine resources on the improvement of quality of sleep, mood symptoms, and cognitive function in Korean female emotional labor workers. Methods: Twelve female workers who experienced excess emotional labor participated at the training camp program for five days in Danghangpo-ocean park, Goseung-gun, Gyeongnam Province in South Korea. Participant sleep quality, mood symptoms, and cognitive functioning before, after, and 1.5 months later were evaluated and analyzed. Results: After participating in the marine resource program, participants reported significantly decreased sleep latency. Global sleep quality, cognitive functions (attention, flexibility, and inhibition control), and mood states, including depression, tension, anger, fatigue, were also improved. These effects were generally maintained after 1. 5 months (PSQI t = 2.63, p = 0.02 ; HAM-D t = 5.92, p < 0.001). Conclusion: A Body-Mind Intervention Program using marine resources was effective in relaxing emotion-related tension and improving cognitive function. To advance this pilot study, it is necessary to carry out further research to investigate the use of marine resources in mental health interventions.

The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of adolescents' emotional control strategies on emotional instability and stress. Study subjects included 124 adolescents from Ulsan city. Frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS 22.0 program, and multiple regression analysis was performed on the causal relationships between variables. First, as a result of examining the effect of adolescents' emotion control strategies on job burnout, it was found that emotion-centered strategy, a sub-factor of emotion control strategy, had a significant effect on emotional instability. On the other hand, it was found that cognitive-oriented strategy factors did not significantly affect emotional instability. Second, as a result of examining the effect of emotion control strategies on stress, it was found that emotion-centered strategies, a sub-factor of emotion control strategy, had a significant negative (-) effect on stress. On the other hand, it was found that cognitive-oriented strategy factors did not significantly affect stress. These results imply that higher emotion-centered strategies lead to lower emotional instability and stress. This study provides basic data for preparing plans to reduce the emotional instability and stress of adolescents.
