  • It provides a three-dimensional virtual experience consisting of information presented to and perceived by the senses of the user. Recently, the advent of a virtual avatar, which mimics the appearance and behavior of humans, enable that the virtual reality (VR) can provide not only a virtual space but also a virtual society to be interact with a virtual avatar which represents humans. But, it is impossible that the user directly interacts with the VE in previous studies, though direct interactions occur in real social relationship. Therefore, In this study, we know that the cognition about a avatar when the user directly interacts with the virtual avatar in the VE. In order to investigate this purpose, we performed a fMRI study using VE that a avatar accept or reject the user's offer when the user offer his (or her) hand to a avatar. In result of questionnaire about the user's feeling by avatar's action, the user feels about avatar's acceptance action that the avatar acts positively and suitably. In contrast the user feels about avatar's rejective action that the avatar acts negatively and disapprovingly. In result of fMRI analysis, the primary visual area, the visual association area, the SMA, the premotor area, the cerebellum and etc, activate in common with the other avatar's acceptance action and rejective action. The results show that the subject recognizes not only avatars as social objects but also avatar's action as socially meaningful action. In other words, it is possible to transfer social context and emotion through avatar's action.

  • In territorial ecosystem, soil has stored considerable amount of carbon, and it is vulnerable to weakness release much of the carbon to atmosphere. In this study, we have been effort realization and discussion to the error between inter-instruments and measurement methods, time and special variations, gap filling and separation from each source included in soil respiration, used to collect soil respiration data in various ecosystems in Korea. In conclusion, it have to collect calibration data throughout comparison test between methods and instruments because accumulated data from past and accumulating data in present did not calibrated. In predicting change of soil carbon dynamic using the model method, it needs important data such as longterm and short-term data, artificial handling data of major factor, data from various ecosystem, soil texture, soil depth etc. In company with, we should collect highly qualified data through deep consideration of present problems.

  • The purposes of this study lie on understanding characteristic water-rock interaction mechanisms of groundwater in the Geochang, Hapcheon, and Changryeong areas and establishing correlation between geological factors and groundwater chemistry by statistical tools. Based on the statistical results from the relationship between rock types and groundwater chemistry, fluorine is correlated with Fe and Al in the diorite area, whereas it is correlated with Cl and $NO_3-N$ in the andesite area. Hardness, total solids, and $SO_4$ show that they are closely related to each other in all rock types, especially with highest relationship in sedimentary rocks. Although it is generally acknowledged that TDS increases with depths of aquifer due to the long term water-rock interaction, no remarkable relationship between well depth and water chemistry is found in this study. It appears that hydrogeological system in the study area may be complex or the path of water-rock interaction is inconsistent with well depth.

  • Press (un)fairness has been a social issue in Korea. The previous research focused mainly on the suggestion of fairness norms, principles, concepts, and definitions. Also, the research tried to measure the degree of fairness by analyzing press contents. This study attempted to overcome the media- and source-oriented approach proposing ordinary press consumers' perspectives. The study posited that one's fairness judgment would be greatly influenced by his or her preexisting attitudes on issue. Based on social judgment theory and hostile media perception framework, the research expected 'assimilation' bias for attitudinally congruent group and 'contrast' bias for attitudinally incongruent group. An $3\times3\times2$ experimental design was employed to test the theoretical predictions. The results found assimilation and contrast bias for strong attitude groups who read one-sided and two-sided messages. The results also implied hostile media perception occurred by selective categorization. Also the difficulty and limitation of traditional fairness judgment and media-centered approach was discussed.

  • For the prevention of marine casualties, international bodies have mainly focused on strengthening ship's stability and design, maritime education and training, and improving maritime traffic environment. Statistics analysis on marine casualties showed that most of casualties occurred in coastal waters, especially by human elements. In order to review the conformity of existing prevention measures with the result of the statistics analysis, the IMO's SHELL model was applied to the established measures. As a result, ergonomic approaches were needed for the prevention of human errors in coastal waters, so that the priority should be given to the interface between ship's operator and navigational environment. For this study, Rasmussen's SRK pyramid, which showed decision making mechanism of human, and the US Coast Guard's investigation manual on marine casualties concerning the collapse of safe maritime transportation system were reviewed, and the merits and demerits within the risk assessment tools such as IWRAP, PAWSA, ES model, PARK model, and NURI model were also studied. Although the effectiveness of the existing risk assessment models was proved in ports and approaching channels, it is concluded that the need of new models for converting Korean seafarers' qualitative risk to quantitative risk was proposed so as to print hazard maps which make seafarers instinctively recognize comparative hazard levels of coastal waters.

  • The aim of this study was to determine the effects of feeding of different organic diets (based on fatty acid contents) on CLA and fatty acid concentration of raw milk. Total two hundred and ninety Holstein cows were divided into control, treatment 1 and treatment 2 groups according to the parity and milk yield. Control diet was contained higher C16:00, C18:2 and SFA. Treatment 1 diet was higher in C18:1, C18:2, UFA and treatment 2 diet was higher in MUFA and C18:3 and PUFA. The results indicated that the C16:0 concentration in raw milk was greater in the group of treatment 2 than in control and treatment 1 (p<0.05). The concentration of CLA in treatment 2 was higher compared to treatment 1 and control groups (p<0.05). The ration of n-3/n-6 was higher in treatment 2 group compared with control and treatment 1 (p<0.05). In conclusion, feeding 100% of grass feed for dairy cows increases CLA and n-3 content in milk. From now on, basis on our study, development of functional milk will increase a health of children and old people.

  • S&OP(Sales and Operations Planning) is an ongoing process of periodic planning, reviewing, and evaluation through the involvement of all key stakeholders. Within this process, performance is regularly reviewed and early warning signals are generated, so that the company can react quickly to changing market and operational environment. This paper presents a framework for effective S&OP for fair alignment, accountability, teamwork, visibility, and risk management. This framework focuses on supply chain information governance, level of information sharing through S&OP, role of S&OP as coordination mechanism, APS effectivesness as a planning tool and SCM performance. In addition, a brief case study on the operating characteristics of S&OP at three Korean firms is presented. Implications of the study finding are also provided. It will also make companies that are considering the introduction of S&OP aware of the importance of S&OP, which will provide practical guidelines for the introduction of S&OP.

  • Recently viruses and various hacking tools that threat hosts on a network becomes more intelligent and cleverer, and so the various security mechanisms against them have ken developed during last decades. To detect these network attacks, many NIPSs(Network-based Intrusion Prevention Systems) that are more functional than traditional NIDSs are developed by several companies and organizations. But, many previous NIPSS are hewn to have some weakness in protecting important hosts from network attacks because of its incorrectness and post-management aspects. The aspect of incorrectness means that many NIPSs incorrectly discriminate between normal and attack network traffic in real time. The aspect of post-management means that they generally respond to attacks after the intrusions are already performed to a large extent. Therefore, to detect network attacks in realtime and to increase the capability of analyzing packets, faster and more active responding capabilities are required for NIPS frameworks. In this paper, we propose a framework for real-time intrusion prevention. This framework consists of packet filtering component that works on netfilter in Linux kernel and traffic control component that have a capability of step-by-step control over abnormal network traffic with the CBQ mechanism.

  • Stroke is among the leading causes of death and long-term physical and cognitive disabilities worldwide, affecting an estimated 15 million people annually. The pathophysiological process of stroke is complicated by multiple and coordinated events. The breakdown of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in people with stroke can significantly contribute to the development of ischemic brain injury. Therefore, BBB disruption is recognized as a hallmark of stroke; thus, it is important to develop novel therapeutic strategies that can protect against BBB dysfunction in ischemic stroke. Traditional medicines are composed of natural products, which represent a promising source of new ingredients for the development of conventional medicines. Indeed, several studies have shown the effectiveness of Korean medicine on stroke, highlighting the value of Korean medicinal treatment for ischemic stroke. This review summarizes the current information and underlying mechanisms regarding the ameliorating effects of the formula, decoction, herbs, and active components of traditional Korean medicine on cerebral ischemia-induced BBB disruption. These traditional medicines were shown to have protective effects on the BBB in many cellular and animal ischemia models of stroke, and experiments in various animal species, such as mice and rats. In addition, they showed brain-protective effects by protecting the BBB through the regulation of tight junction proteins and matrix metalloproteinase-9, reducing edema, neuroinflammation, and neuronal cell death. We hope that this review will help promote further investigation into the neuroprotective effects of traditional Korean medicines and stimulate the performance of clinical trials on Korean herbal medicine-derived drugs in patients with stroke.
