Segmentation Strategy for Attracting Tourists to EXPO 2012 Yeosu (여수세계박람회 관람객 유치를 위한 세분화전략)

  • This paper attempts to develop STP Strategy of EXPO 2012 Yeosu for attracting tourists. STP in marketing strategy refers to the process of market segmentation, market targeting, and positioning. I tested four demographic variables(age, occupation, nationality, and sex) to segment the market or the visitors of EXPO 2012 Yeosu effectively. The statistical result shows that age, occupation, and nationality are significant. Based on the three demographic factors and the visitor's purpose, I classified the expected visitors of EXPO into 12 groups, and selected 6 targeted groups: a group of Korean students with the purpose of study, a group of Korean professionals with the purpose of business, a group of foreign students with the purpose of study, a group of foreign professionals with the purpose of business, a group of Korean people in general with the purpose of tourism, and a group of foreign people in general with the purpose of tourism. In this paper, I have suggested a differentiated marketing mix for six targeted groups each.

Air passenger demand forecasting for the Incheon airport using time series models (시계열 모형을 이용한 인천공항 이용객 수요 예측)

  • The Incheon airport is a gateway to and from the Republic of Korea and has a great influence on the image of the country. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the number of airport passengers in the long term in order to maintain the quality of service at the airport. In this study, we compared the predictive performance of various time series models to predict the air passenger demand at Incheon Airport. From 2002 to 2019, passenger data include trend and seasonality. We considered the naive method, decomposition method, exponential smoothing method, SARIMA, PROPHET. In order to compare the capacity and number of passengers at Incheon Airport in the future, the short-term, mid-term, and long-term was forecasted by time series models. For the short-term forecast, the exponential smoothing model, which weighted the recent data, was excellent, and the number of annual users in 2020 will be about 73.5 million. For the medium-term forecast, the SARIMA model considering stationarity was excellent, and the annual number of air passengers in 2022 will be around 79.8 million. The PROPHET model was excellent for long-term prediction and the annual number of passengers is expected to be about 99.0 million in 2024.

  • The purpose of this research is to identify the service quality of The Independence Hall of Korea, and to investigate what factors of service quality influence to the customer satisfaction and the customer revisit intention As a result of the study, service quality for The Independence Hall of Korea was proposed to be four factors of tangibility, responsiveness, assurance, empathy. It turns out that if the service quality of responsiveness and empathy provided by The Independence Hall of Korea improves, the customers' satisfaction would be increased, and If the customers are satisfied with the service, visitors' intention to revisit would be influenced. The result of the research suggests that the Korea Independence Hall should manage and control these service quality factors to improve customer satisfaction and revisit intention.

  • 본 연구는 근거리 무선통신 장치의 하나의 비콘의 신호를 이용하여 침수위험지역에 접근하게 될 시 알림 서비스를 제공하는 어플리케이션을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 어플리케이션의 기능은 크게 침수위험지역으로 연결되는 경로로 진입하는 경우 일정 거리 이상으로 접근하게 되면 휴대용 단말기에 알림창을 띄우는 기능과 침수대피시설에 가까워지는 경우 알림창을 제공하는 기능으로 구성되어 있다. 침수 상황에서 발생되는 인명피해의 유형을 살펴보면 침수지역의 거주민이 침수를 경험하는 경우도 있지만, 방문객과 같은 불특정인도 침수로 인한 피해를 경험한다. 특히, 관광객, 방문객과 같이 해당지역에 거주하지 않는 사람의 경우 침수예상지역에 대한 지식이 전혀 없을뿐더러 대피시설과 피난경로에 대한 인지가 상대적으로 지극히 부족하다. 또한 침수재해의 경우 위험을 인지하지 못하고 침수위험지역에 잘못 진입하게 되면 침수의 진행에 따라 피난이 불가능해 지는 상황이 발생한다는 특징이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안하는 간단한 어플리케이션으로 침수지역의 위험에 대한 인지, 대피시설에 대한 1차원적인 정보제공이 가능하다면 인명피해를 저감할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The ICT-based curation as a series of experiences with the mobile exhibition-guide applications or guide programs in art galleries helps visitors fully immersed in the exhibition and allows them to have more informative and convenient guide experience at art galleries. This study aims to verify how the factors of ICT-based curation affects the commitment and satisfaction of visitors at art galleries, figure out whether the visitors' commitment has effects on their satisfaction, and then finally test the impact of their commitment and satisfaction on their revisit intention. In order to validate the cause-and-effect relationships between these factors, the ICT-based curation in this paper is categorized into five factors - gamification, quality of image/video information, quality of sound/text information, contextual offer, and instant connectivity. The main results of the study are as follows. First, only the gamification has significantly positive effects on the commitment of art gallery visitors, while other two factors - the instant connectivity, and the quality of sound/text information - have significantly positive effects on the satisfaction of visitors. Second, the commitment of visitors also has significantly positive effects on their satisfaction. Third, the commitment of the visitors don't have significantly positive relationship with their intention of revisit, but the satisfaction of the visitors have significantly positive relationship with their intention of revisit.

  • This study investigates the effect of seriousness and controllability of service failure on perceived fairness, reliability, satisfaction and loyalty of customers. The result of the study is as follows. First, it was expected that a control-attribute and a seriousness-attribute would have an negative(-) impact on perceived fairness-attribute; however, the result showed that both did not have an negative impact on it. Next, a fairness-attribute of a procedure had a significant effect on trust, and a fairness-attribute of interaction and a fairness-attribute of distribution had a significant effect on trust and satisfaction. Lastly, trust had a significant effect on satisfaction while satisfaction had a significant effect on loyalty. Based of the result of this study, food-service enterprises need to perform a fast process of a recovery to overcome service failure rather than confirming a control-attribute and a seriousness-attribute of service failure. Also, they should set up a process of the recovery in the order of trust, satisfaction, and loyalty and check if this process is promptly carried out.

  • This research aims to analyze the importance-performance among multiplex cinema selection attributes. Therefore, we collected data for visitors who visited the multiplex cinema and want to watch movies. Of the various multiplex cinema selection attributes, four factors were deduced that includes: major services, human services, physical environment, auxiliary services using exploratory factor analysis. In the quadrant I, the area of 'Concentrate Here' was 'diversity of screening time', 'diversity of movie genre', 'convenience of mobile app use', 'size and convenience of parking facility'. In the quadrant II, 'Keep up the Good Work' area was 'convenience of website booking', 'discounts through card partnerships', 'employee friendliness', 'accurate employee information delivery', 'comfortable seating', 'screen size', 'cinematic sound quality', and 'convenience of traffic' etc. The quadrant III, 'Low Priority' appeared to be 'membership system', 'tidiness of staff attire', 'resting space for waiting time', 'accessibility to the neighboring area', 'diversity of the snack corner', and 'overall cleanliness' etc. The quadrant IV, 'Possible Overkill' was 'appropriateness of the auditorium temperature' and 'service proficiency'.

An Assessment and Comparative Analysis of Culture and Tourism Festival Service Quality, Satisfaction and Revisit (Focusing on 2013-2014 Cheonan World Dance Festival) (문화관광축제 서비스품질과 만족 및 재방문 평가 비교분석 (2013-2014년 천안흥타령 춤 축제를 대상으로))

  • It was intended to enhance the quality of festival and contribute as image of refined local festival by making an empirical and cross-sectional analysis of effect that the overall quality of service provided in the local festival had on users' satisfaction and revisit intention by using 2013-2014 two-year data for visitors who had enjoyed "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival", best festival designated by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism after 2012. The results of analyzing a difference for 2 years are as follows. 1) Among social quality factors, both cultural effect and image effect showed a significant difference with p=.001 and p=.004. 2) Among process quality factors, food and souvenir showed a significant difference with p=.27. 3) Among physical quality factors, both convenience in connection with the visitors' enjoying the festival and facility arrangement didn't show difference between groups with p=.130 and .408. Finally, in the item of whether the overall service quality of festival had an effect on visitor satisfaction and whether visitor satisfaction with festival had an effect on revisit intention, each of these had p=.000. So, it was shown that there was statistically significant difference. In other words, it is proved that the enhancement of service quality lead to high satisfaction, and this arouses revisit intention and produces word of mouth effect.

  • 본 논문은 아두이노를 이용하여 청각 장애인을 위한 시각 정보 기반의 초인종 시스템을 설계하고자 한다. 아두이노에 버튼, 부저, 모터, LCD를 이용하여 초인종을 구현하여 방문객 발생 시 버튼을 통해 정보를 스마트폰에 실시간으로 안내하는 방식으로 서비스를 설계하였다. 또한 방문객 출입 여부를 스마트폰에서 선택하면 LCD를 통하여 그 정보가 출력될 수 있도록 하였다.
