Estimation of Ovulation and Optimal Breeding Time Based on Vaginal Cytology and Determination of Reproductive Hormones in Shih-tzu Bitches (Shih-tzu견에서 발정 주기 동안 질세포 검사 및 번식 호르몬 측정에 의한 교배 적기 및 배란 시기의 판정)

  • Vaginal cytology was examined in 12 Shih-tzu bitches to establish the accurate basic data for estimate to the optimal mating time and ovulation time. The mean duration of proestrus and estrus were $9.09{\pm}0.83\;(mean{\pm}SD)$ days and $7.36{\pm}0.47$ days in pregnant bitches. The gestational length in the 12 pregnant bitches was $65.2{\pm}0.5$ days in pregnant bitches when Day 0 was timed from the first day of male acceptance. Characteristic features of vaginal cytology during the estrous cycle were the high proportion of large intermediate cell, superficial cell, anuclear cell and erythrocyte in proestrus, superficial cell, anuclear cell and erythrocyte in estrus, and parabasal cell, small and large intermediate cell and leukocyte in diestrus, respectively. Cornification index (CI) was the high proportion in proestrus and estrus, then it decreased in diestrus and anestrus. When Day 0 was timed from the day of the first male acceptance, the CI peak was Day 2 and maintained above 80% between Day -4 and Day 6 during 11 days, and above 90% between Day -1 and Day 5 during 7 days. In relationship between CI and reproductive hormones, CI showed peak at the first day after plasma estradiol-$17{\beta}$ concentration peak and plasma progesterone concentration was first increased above 4.0 ng/ml at Day 0 which was the first day after CI peak. In conclusion, ovulation in Shih-tzu bitches occurred at the first day after CI peak. Vaginal cytology is the simple and reliable method for estimating estrous cycle, optimal breeding time and ovulation time in Shih-tzu bitches.

A Study of Apparel Sizing System for Korean Obese Women (비만여성의 의복치수체계 연구)

  • This study suggests apparel sizing systems for obese women in their twenties to fifties. Size Korea body measurement data were used for sampling the obese subjects by obesity judgment indices. A total of 7 obesity judgment indices frequently used in the clothing field were inspected and the measurement data of 499 females defined as "obese" by over 5 obesity judgment indices were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: A total of 2,212 female body measurement data for the Size Korea Project were collected. These were compared with the 499 data of the obese women in the study. Except for all heights and some lengths correlating with heights, the measurements of obese women were larger than the entire group of females. Bust girth, hip girth, and height were selected as control dimensions of the outerwear covering the upper body; waist girth and hip girth were selected as control dimensions of the outerwear covering the lower body. In each crosstabulation table, 3cm pitches and 5cm pitches by bust girth, waist girth, and hip girth were compared in the aspects of coverage and coverage efficiency. Finally, sizing charts for outerwear covering the upper body and the lower body of obese women were established in the study through the comparison of the coverage and the coverage efficiency. These Size charts were given by 5cm pitches as final sizing systems. Size number of outerwear covering the upper body was 10 and size number of outerwear covering the lower body was 9. In addition, the body measurements of control dimensions and referable dimensions for making garments are given.

  • 수문자료는 국가적으로 중요한 자료로서 이에 대한 품질관리가 반드시 필요하다. 이에 우리나라 국토교통부에서는 국가 수문자료 품질관리시스템을 구축하여 실시간으로 수집되는 수문자료의 품질을 관리하고 있다. 국가 수문자료 품질관리시스템에서 사용되는 수문자료 자동점검기준은 실시간으로 수집되는 수문자료의 상태를 구분하기 위한 점검방법에서 설정한 기준 값을 말하며, 특히 수문자료의 오류 추출을 자동화하는데 핵심적인 역할을 하는 값이다. 해당 값은 점검 방법에 따라 다른 형태를 갖고 있으며, 관측소의 관측특성과 밀접한 연관이 있어 실무에서는 기존 관측자료의 통계적인 특성을 이용해 초기값을 추정하고 이후 관측자료들에 대한 실제 품질 판정을 기준으로 실제 상황을 고려하여 주기적으로 관리자가 수작업에 의해 시행착오법으로 보정하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 국가 수문자료 품질관리시스템에서 활용하고 있는 수문자료 자동점검기준을 대상으로 기존에 수작업으로 진행되던 자동점검기준의 보정을 자동화할 수 있는 평가지표와 평가 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 이를 실제 자료에 적용하였다. 개발된 알고리즘은 그림1과 같은 추정 이상치 집합과 실제 이상치 집합의 상관관계를 이용하여 두 집합의 교집합인 A를 증가시키는 구조이다. 이를 이용해 자동점검기준의 적중률을 향상시킬 수 있었으며, 향후 실무에 적용될 경우 수문자료 자동점검기준을 신속하고 적절하게 보정함으로써 수문자료 품질관리업무의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Differences in Clinical Laboratory Data between the Elderly and the Young Adults (노인군과 청장년군 간의 정상 검사치의 비교 분석)

  • Due to the lowering of biological functions resulted from old age, the elderly is known to have many different clinical laboratory data compared with the young adults. But, in korea, such study is lacking. This research is to find the differences between the elderly and the young adults, and also to know the sexual differences, by comparing the outcomes of the clinical. laboratory data. Along with that, it is to help clinical usage of the data in the future. The age of the elderly was between 60 and 83(average age 63.8), and that of the young. controls was between 20 and 35. In both sexes, MCV, MCH, ESR, CRP, AST, ALT, ${\gamma}$GTP, ALP, BUN, total cholesterol were significantly higher in the elderly than in the controls. And lymphocyte count(%), total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total protein, albumin, $T_3$ were significantly lower in the elderly than in the controls(P<0.05). Hemoglobin, Hct, platelet count, $T_4$ were significantly lower only in the male elderly, and eosinophil count(%), creatinine were significantly higher only in the female elderly(P<0.05). HDL cholesterol was significantly higher only in the male elderly(P<0.01). There were no significant difference between two groups regarding WBC count, segment neutrophil count(%), monocyte count(%), TSH. Many clinical laboratory data are different between the elderly and the young adults, and some clinical laboratory data also have sexual differences.

Comparison of TIA with ELISA for circulating antibody detection in clonorchiasis (간흡충증에 있어서 항체검출을 위한 Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay와 Thin Layer Immunoassay의 비교)

  • A comparison was made of a new serological method, thin layer immunoassay (TIA), and an established method, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), in the detection and quantiacation of antibodies in clonorchiasis. Saline extract of Iyophilized Clonorchis sinensis adult worm was used as antigen, and TIA by the method of Elwing et at. (1976) and ELISA by Voller et at. (1974) were performed. Using sera from known clonorchiasis cases,100% of the sera tested were Positive by TIA and 88.35 by ELISA. TIA produced false positive results in 14 out of 36 cases, which were 10 amoebiasis cases, 16 paragonimiasis cases and 10 healthy controls. ELISA. however, produced a small number of false positives, 7 out of 55 cases. There was correlation between Immunoglobulin G level in sera and ELISA value (correlation coefficient, 0.69), whereas no correlation between Immunoglobulin G level and TIA result. The Performance of TIA and ELISA was not correlated in the results using homologous antigen.

Detection of Anomaly VMS Messages Using Bi-Directional GPT Networks (양방향 GPT 네트워크를 이용한 VMS 메시지 이상 탐지)

  • When a variable message signs (VMS) system displays false information related to traffic safety caused by malicious attacks, it could pose a serious risk to drivers. If the normal message patterns displayed on the VMS system are learned, it would be possible to detect and respond to the anomalous messages quickly. This paper proposes a method for detecting anomalous messages by learning the normal patterns of messages using a bi-directional generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) network. In particular, the proposed method was trained using the normal messages and their system parameters to minimize the corresponding negative log-likelihood (NLL) values. After adequate training, the proposed method could detect an anomalous message when its NLL value was larger than a pre-specified threshold value. The experiment results showed that the proposed method could detect malicious messages and cases when the system error occurs.

  • 최근 애매성이 수반되는 정보를 Zadeh는 멤버쉽함수(membership function)를 이용하여 새로운 정보처리 방식으로서 퍼지이론을 제안하였고, 그후 의료계에서도 퍼지이론을 도입한 진단법들이 제안되었다. 회전기계의 이상진단법으로는 주파수득점법(Point counting method), 퍼지역연산법(Inverse method of fuzzy theory)등이 보고되고 있으며, 저자들도 퍼지이론을 이용하여 구름베어링의 결함진단, 회전기계의 간이 이상진단법등을 보고하였다. 이들은 주로 진동주파수의 스펙트럼 데이터 만을 이용하고 있고, 다른 많은 데이터를 복합적으로 이용할 수 없다. 이 때문에 주로 소규모 문제의 간이진단에서는 효과적이나 진단대상이 복잡하고 대규모로 되면 보다 정확한 원인 추정이 곤란하게 된다. 또한 수치데이터만을 취급할 수 있으므로 진동전문가가 진단에 이용하는 각종의 수치화 될 수 없는 데이터(언어적인 정보)가 취급될 수 없다. 따라서 이들의 진단법은 개략적인 진단은 가능하나 상세한 원인까지는 진단할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 회전기계의 이상판단시 참고가 되는 각종 정보로는 주로 진동진폭의 크기, 진폭과 위상의 변화, 진폭의 변화, 진동파형, 진동벡터의 시간변화 등이 있고, 이들은 수치적으로 표현할 수 있는 계량데이터와 판단의 경계가 불명확한 언어정보(범위데이터)로 나눌 수 있다. 후자는 애매성(fuzziness)을 많이 포함하고 있으며, 엄밀히 측정되는 수치데이터에서도 퍼지성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 언어적인 정보의 애매성을 퍼지추론에서는 [수치적 진리치](numeric truth)와 [언어적 진리치](linguistic truth)의 개념으로 표현하게 되었다. 수치적 진리치는 확실함의 척도를 [0,1] 사이의 수치를 이용하여 표현하고 있으며, 이 수치는 소견의 확실도로서 가능성을 표현한 것이다. 예를 들면, 진동진폭 스펙트럼상에 2X 성분이 상당히 크게 나타나 정렬불량의 가능성이 0.7 정도라고 판정하는 것 등은 이러한 수치적진리치를 이용하는 방법이다. 그러나 상기의 수치적 표현만으로는 확실도를 한개의 수치로서 대표하게 하는 것은 진단의 정밀도에 문제가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 언어적진리치가 도입되어 [상당히 확실], [확실], [약간 확실] 등의 언어적인 표현을 이용하여 애매성을 표현하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 간이진단 결과로부터 추출된 애매한 진단결과중에서 가장 가능성이 높은 이상원인을 복수로 선정하고, 여러 종류의 수치화할 수 없는 언어적(linguistic)인 정보ㄷㄹ을 if-then 형식의 퍼지추론으로 종합하는 회전기계의 이상진단을 위한 정밀진단 알고리즘을 제안하고 그 유용성을 검토한다.

Comparison of 3D Scanned Anthropometric Data between Korean and American Adults by using Ratios and Indices (지수치를 활용한 한국과 매국 성인 3차원 인체치수 비교)

  • The body measurement ratios and indices used in this study are all 3D female measurement data of the two countries were obtained from Size Korea Project and SizeUSA Project. The purpose of the study is to compare and analyze body measurement data between two countries. The results of this research are helpful for the clothing manufacturer and company to trade with America. The samples were 1,988 Korean and 6,306 American females. Thirty-five body measurement ratios and indices were chosen as the principal measurements in making garments. The conclusion of this research was as follow; First, U.S. females have measurements that exceed Korean women, except for crotch length total and shoulder slope. Second, the correlation coefficients of height and weight are relatively higher than other measurements in the two countries' body measurements. Finally, American women's height ratios are significantly bigger than Korean women's in most height ratios. On the other hand, Korean are significantly bigger than American in weight ratios. The drop values of Korean females are also smaller than those of American. It was recognized that American women are much bigger, wider and more obese than Korean according to the results by utilizing the girth ratios. BMI, Rohrer and Vervaeck index.

Relationship Between Ultrasonic and Carcass Measures for Meat Qualities in Hanwoo Steers (한우 거세우에 있어서 생체단층조사기법에 의한 육질판정과 도축 육질 측정치와의 관계)

  • Data from live animal real time ultrasound (RTU) measures from 127 Hanwoo steers were used to assess nutritional physiology and relationship between RTU measures and real carcass measures represented meat quality. Traits considered were longissimus muscle area, fat thickness, and marbling score imaged and scanned using RTU by month and those of carcass measures at about 24 month of age. On this study, increasing pattern for longissimus muscle area would be closely related to growth pattern (p<0.01) and it of fat thickness would be related to quadratic effect of ages. Marbling score would be related to aging, that is, individual deviates of scores were distinctly characterized after 17 mo. even though they were started at about 11 mo. Correlation estimates between RTU measures and corresponding carcass traits were over 0.6 after 17 month of age for all traits considered and these estimates were high as 0.90 after 22 month of age. From this study, Real-time ultrasound measurement would be valuable after 15-17 mo. and measures at about 22 mo. would be helpful to decide age for slaughtering. To utilize these techniques for beef cattle breeding via progeny testing program, 15 mo. RTU measures would be efficiency rather than 12 mo. of other beef breeds. Further study to find genetic variation of RTU measures was needed to utilize these technologies for beef breeding.

Exposure dose reduce of Dental Panoramagraphy using a Pb band (자체제작 Pb 밴딩을 이용한 피폭선량 감소)

  • 치과 진료시 파노라마 장치를 이용한 검사에서 유리선량계를 사용하여 피검자의 피폭선량을 측정하였다. 특히 방사선에 민감한 수정체의 피폭선량을 줄이기 위하여 자체 제작한 Pb 밴딩의 크기에 따라 수정체 피폭선량을 측정한 결과 Pb밴딩의 크기에 따라서 수정체의 피폭선량이 다르다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Pb밴딩의 크기가 3*20*0.2cm에서는 정상치보다 피폭선량이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 5*20*0.2cm 이상의 크기에서는 피폭선량이 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 또한 획득되어진 영상 7*20*0.2cm 크기에서 진단에 부적합한 영상으로 판정 되었다. 그러므로 피폭선량을 최소화하고 효과적인 파노라마 검사를 수행하기 위해서는 Pb 밴딩 5*20*0.2cm이상 6*20*0.2cm이하 크기를 사용하여 검사에 활용하면 피폭선량이 감소될 것으로 기대한다.
