Forest Change Detection Service Based on Artificial Intelligence Learning Data (인공지능 학습용 데이터 기반의 산림변화탐지 서비스)

  • Since the era of the 4th industrial revolution has been ripe, the use of artificial intelligence(AI) based on massive data is beginning to be actively applied in various fields. However, as the process of analyzing forest species is carried out manually, many errors are occurring. Therefore, in this paper, about 60,000 pieces of AI learning data were automatically analyzed for pine, larch, conifer, and broadleaf trees of aerial photographs and pseudo images in the metropolitan area, and an AI model was developed to distinguish tree species. Through this, it is expected to increase in work efficiency by using the tree species division image as basic data when producing forest change detection and forest field topics.

Autoencoder-Based Defense Technique against One-Pixel Adversarial Attacks in Image Classification (이미지 분류를 위한 오토인코더 기반 One-Pixel 적대적 공격 방어기법)

  • The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has led to its proactive utilization across various fields. However, this widespread adoption of AI-based systems has raised concerns about the increasing threat of attacks on these systems. In particular, deep neural networks, commonly used in deep learning, have been found vulnerable to adversarial attacks that intentionally manipulate input data to induce model errors. In this study, we propose a method to protect image classification models from visually imperceptible One-Pixel attacks, where only a single pixel is altered in an image. The proposed defense technique utilizes an autoencoder model to remove potential threat elements from input images before forwarding them to the classification model. Experimental results, using the CIFAR-10 dataset, demonstrate that the autoencoder-based defense approach significantly improves the robustness of pretrained image classification models against One-Pixel attacks, with an average defense rate enhancement of 81.2%, all without the need for modifications to the existing models.

The Development of Interactive Artificial Intelligence Blocks for Image Classification (이미지 분류를 위한 대화형 인공지능 블록 개발)

  • There are various educational programming environments in which students can train artificial intelligence (AI) using block-based programming languages, such as Entry, Machine Learning for Kids, and Teachable Machine. However, these programming environments are designed so that students can train AI through a separate menu, and then use the trained model in the code editor. These approaches have the advantage that students can check the training process more intuitively, but there is also the disadvantage that both the training menu and the code editor must be used. In this paper, we present a novel artificial intelligence block that can perform both AI training and programming in the code editor. While this AI block is presented as a Scratch block, the training process is performed through a Python server. We describe the blocks in detail through the process of training a model to classify a blue pen and a red pen, and a model to classify a dental mask and a KF94 mask. Also, we experimentally show that our approach is not significantly different from Teachable Machine in terms of performance.

Method for improving video/image data quality for AI learning of unstructured data (비정형데이터의 AI학습을 위한 영상/이미지 데이터 품질 향상 방법)

  • Recently, there is an increasing movement to increase the value of AI learning data and to secure high-quality data based on previous research on AI learning data in all areas of society. Therefore, quality management is very important in construction projects to secure high-quality data. In this paper, quality management to secure high-quality data when building AI learning data and improvement plans for each construction process are presented. In particular, more than 80% of the data quality of unstructured data built for AI learning is determined during the construction process. In this paper, we performed quality inspection of image/video data. In addition, we identified inspection procedures and problem elements that occurred in the construction phases of acquisition, data cleaning, labeling, and models, and suggested ways to secure high-quality data by solving them. Through this, it is expected that it will be an alternative to overcome the quality deviation of data for research groups and operators participating in the construction of AI learning data.

  • 안면 인식은 Face ID를 비롯하여 미아 찾기, 범죄자 추적 등의 분야에 도입되고 있다. 안면 인식은 최근 딥러닝을 통해 인식률이 향상되었으나, 측면에서의 인식률은 정면에 비해 특징 추출이 어려우므로 비교적 낮다. 이런 문제는 해당 인물의 정면이 없고 측면만 존재할 경우 안면 인식을 통한 신원확인이 어려워 단점으로 작용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 측면 이미지를 바탕으로 정면을 생성함으로써 안면 인식을 적용할 수 있는 상황을 확장하는 인공지능 기반의 안면 정면화 모델을 구현한다. 모델의 안면 특징 추출을 위해 VGG-Face를 사용하며 특징 추출에서 생길 수 있는 정보 손실을 막기 위해 U-Net 구조를 사용한다.

CNN-based Image Rotation Correction Algorithm to Improve Image Recognition Rate (이미지 인식률 개선을 위한 CNN 기반 이미지 회전 보정 알고리즘)

  • Recently, convolutional neural network (CNN) have been showed outstanding performance in the field of image recognition, image processing and computer vision, etc. In this paper, we propose a CNN-based image rotation correction algorithm as a solution to image rotation problem, which is one of the factors that reduce the recognition rate in image recognition system using CNN. In this paper, we trained our deep learning model with Leeds Sports Pose dataset to extract the information of the rotated angle, which is randomly set in specific range. The trained model is evaluated with mean absolute error (MAE) value over 100 test data images, and it is obtained 4.5951.

Evaluating the Effectiveness of an Artificial Intelligence Model for Classification of Basic Volcanic Rocks Based on Polarized Microscope Image (편광현미경 이미지 기반 염기성 화산암 분류를 위한 인공지능 모델의 효용성 평가)

  • In order to minimize the human and time consumption required for rock classification, research on rock classification using artificial intelligence (AI) has recently developed. In this study, basic volcanic rocks were subdivided by using polarizing microscope thin section images. A convolutional neural network (CNN) model based on Tensorflow and Keras libraries was self-producted for rock classification. A total of 720 images of olivine basalt, basaltic andesite, olivine tholeiite, trachytic olivine basalt reference specimens were mounted with open nicol, cross nicol, and adding gypsum plates, and trained at the training : test = 7 : 3 ratio. As a result of machine learning, the classification accuracy was over 80-90%. When we confirmed the classification accuracy of each AI model, it is expected that the rock classification method of this model will not be much different from the rock classification process of a geologist. Furthermore, if not only this model but also models that subdivide more diverse rock types are produced and integrated, the AI model that satisfies both the speed of data classification and the accessibility of non-experts can be developed, thereby providing a new framework for basic petrology research.

  • The industrial 4.0 era has been opened with the development of artificial intelligence technology, and the realization of smart farms incorporating ICT technology is receiving great attention in the livestock industry. Among them, the quality management technology of livestock products and livestock operations incorporating computer vision-based artificial intelligence technology represent key technologies. However, the insufficient number of livestock image data for artificial intelligence model training and the severely unbalanced ratio of labels for recognizing a specific defective state are major obstacles to the related research and technology development. To overcome these problems, in this study, combining oversampling and adversarial case generation techniques is proposed as a method necessary to effectively utilizing small data labels for successful defect detection. In addition, experiments comparing performance and time cost of the applicable techniques were conducted. Through experiments, we confirm the validity of the proposed methods and draw utilization strategies from the study results.

  • 본 프로젝트는 한국 의료 진로 서비스의 문제점을 개선하고자 인공지능 기반의 챗봇을 이용해 환자와 의사 간의 의사소통을 증진시키는 데 목적이 있다. Web UI 를 제공하는 Rasa X 챗봇(Chatbot) Tool 을 이용하여 메시지와 이미지를 송신할 수 있는 챗봇을 구축해냈다. 또한 YOLO model training 으로 충치 Detection 기능 등 인공지능을 접목시켜 더 효율성있는 어플리케이션(Application)을 개발했다. 이는 최근 코로나-19 로 비대면 서비스가 각광받는 가운데 챗봇 모델은 가장 경제적이고 효율적으로 실생활에 적용될 기술이다.

Contents Development of Web Services for Artificial Intelligence-based Stock Photos (인공지능 기반의 스톡사진 웹 서비스 콘텐츠 개발)

  • The present research aims to identify the issues that occurred when uploading stock photos to the internet-based stock image agencies and to develop technical solutions based on web service technologies. We identify the issues by examination of previous studies and stock photo uploading systems of major three agencies currently in service. As such, we develop web service technology by focusing on the following matters. First, we apply an automatic tag system to ensure convenience. Second, to ensure safety, we apply a technology that easily enables prevention of portrait rights violations and trademark infringements. We also prepare for measures against possible harmfulness. Third, to ensure completeness, we apply a method which resolves upload failure issues that frequently occurred in the past. In particular, the present research is significant as it applies an automatic image analysis system based on Google Cloud Vision API as the artificial intelligence-based image processing technology. In addition, we develop a web service program which improves user access by using SNS-type screen composition.
