Estimation of channel morphology using RGB orthomosaic images from drone - focusing on the Naesung stream - (드론 RGB 정사영상 기반 하도 지형 공간 추정 방법 - 내성천 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, a comparative review was conducted on how to use RGB images to obtain river topographic information, which is one of the most essential data for eco-friendly river management and flood level analysis. In terms of the topographic information of river zone, to obtain the topographic information of flow section is one of the difficult topic, therefore, this study focused on estimating the river topographic information of flow section through RGB images. For this study, the river topography surveying was directly conducted using ADCP and RTK-GPS, and at the same time, and orthomosiac image were created using high-resolution images obtained by drone photography. And then, the existing developed regression equations were applied to the result of channel topography surveying by ADCP and the band values of the RGB images, and the channel bathymetry in the study area was estimated using the regression equation that showed the best predictability. In addition, CCHE2D flow modeling was simulated to perform comparative verification of the topographical informations. The modeling result with the image-based topographical information provided better water depth and current velocity simulation results, when it compared to the directly measured topographical information for which measurement of the sub-section was not performed. It is concluded that river topographic information could be obtained from RGB images, and if additional research was conducted, it could be used as a method of obtaining efficient river topographic information for river management.

  • The importance of process improvement under construction has arisen from recent issue, lower productivity in the construction site. The various 3D modeling program is utilized in the procedure of construction as an alternative solution. However, it's still shortage of the consideration about a specific technical application. The purpose of the study in this paper is helpful to improve the productivity of construction site using 3D realization of constructing place as one of extensive modeling technologies, which leads to not only efficient management of construction site allowing people to check the real time situation in the place but also the revitalization of information flow about building process control and prgress, Therefore, I research into modeling algorithm and extensive construction site realization technology. 3D realization of building place would reduce the safety concerns by providing the real time information about construction site, and it could help to access easily to similar project through collecting and appling the database of sites. Furthermore it can be an opportunity to develop the procedure of production in construction industry and to upgrade the image of this field.

  • Object tracking algorithms can reduce computational cost by avoiding computation over the whole image through the selection of region of interests based on object detection. So, accurate object detection is an important task for object tracking. The background subtraction algorithm has been widely used in moving object detection using a stationary camera. However, it has the problem of object detection error due to incorrect background modeling, whereas the method of background modeling has been improved by many researches. This paper proposes a new moving object detection algorithm to overcome the drawback of the conventional background subtraction algorithm by combining the background subtraction algorithm with the motion history image algorithm that is usually used in gesture detection. Although the proposed algorithm demands more processing time because of time taken for combining two algorithms, it meet the real-time processing requirement. Moreover, experimental results show that it has higher accuracy compared with the previous two algorithms.

  • This purpose of this study is to develop content that enables repetitive carving practice of the maxillary right central incisor (MRCI) based on augmented reality (AR). For a step-by-step practice of achieving the tooth shape, after creation of the storyboard from the square box shape in step 1 to the completed MRCI block in step 16, three-dimensional (3D) modeling data reflecting the characteristics of the mesial, distal, lingual, and labial surface of the MRCI were generated. An application was built in which 3D modeling data were output on the screen of the learner's mobile device, and image markers suitable for 3D modeling in steps 1 to 16 of the MRCI model were respectively generated. Using this information, the learner could carve a high-quality MRCI by repeatedly performing the tooth shape carving exercises. With AR, we intend to contribute to improved tooth morphology carving skills by linking the theory and practical techniques for a beginners in dentistry.

  • In Augmented Reality, it needs restoration and tracking of a real-time scene structure for the augmented 3D model from input video or images. Most of the previous approaches construct accurate 3D models in advance and try to fit them in real-time. However, it is difficult to measure 3D model accurately and requires long pre-processing time to construct exact 3D model specifically. In this research, we suggest a real-time scene structure analysis method for the wide indoor mobile augmented reality, using only generic models without exact pre-constructed models. Our approach reduces cost and time by removing exact modeling process and demonstrates the method for restoration and tracking of the indoor repetitive scene structure such as corridors and stairways in different scales and details.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the visual landscape modelling on Josun royal tombs and surrounding. The visual landscape of traditional heritage is illustrated by the main view points of analysis. This analysis examines limited view points and cannot reflect a reality of environments. Nowadays various equipments and methodologies are developed for the visual landscape research. This study used new tools for analysis which are Sketch up (3D simulation) and mini helicopter (UAV). With those tools, this research examines not only view points of the analysis but also axis views and disincentive environments as a complex analysis. First of all, the research examined 3D modelling for the virtual simulation and drew coordinates and routes for the UAV operating. Secondly, UAV followed this routes and took linear and continuous views that are real scenes. As a result, it drew 3D simulation could illustrate and control the changing of environments such as the forest density and seasonal variations. Thus, comparing both of them shows efficiently landscape analysis. Thirdly, the study compared virtual and real landscape. Using this 3D modelling, this paper able to elaborate heritage environment and surrounding which omitted by view point analysis. Although this study has limitation practice and exercise on the field, the results and suggestions contribute to the various historic heritage managements and conservations. Moreover, it helps to explain the complex and dimensional landscape analysis.

  • 하천의 오염부하량 관리 계획은 지속적인 모니터링을 통한 자료 구축과 모형을 이용한 예측결과를 기반으로 수립된다. 하천의 모니터링과 예측 분석은 많은 예산과 인력 등이 필요하나, 정부의 담당 공무원 수는 극히 부족한 상황이 일반적이다. 이에 정부는 전문가에게 관련 용역을 의뢰하지만, 한국과 같이 지형이 복잡한 지역에서의 오염부하량 배출 특성은 각각 다르게 나타나기 때문에 많은 예산 소모가 발생 된다. 이를 개선하고자, 본 연구는 합성곱 신경망 (convolution neural network)과 수문학적 이미지 (hydrological image)를 이용하여 강우 발생시 BOD 및 총인의 부하량 예측 모형을 개발하였다. 합성곱 신경망의 입력자료는 일반적으로 RGB (red, green, bule) 사진을 이용하는데, 이를 그래도 오염부하량 예측에 활용하는 것은 경험적 모형의 전제(독립변수와 종속변수의 관계)를 무너뜨리는 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 오염부하량이 수문학적 조건과 토지이용 등의 변수에 의해 결정된다는 인과관계를 만족시키고자 수문학적 속성이 내재된 수문학적 이미지를 합성곱 신경망의 훈련자료로 사용하였다. 수문학적 이미지는 임의의 유역에 대해 2차원 공간에서 무차원의 수문학적 속성을 갖는 grid의 집합으로 정의되는데, 여기서 각 grid의 수문학적 속성은 SCS 토양보존국(soil conservation service, SCS)에서 발표한 수문학적 토양피복형수 (curve number, CN)를 이용하여 산출한다. 합성곱 신경망의 구조는 2개의 Convolution Layer와 1개의 Pulling Layer가 5회 반복하는 구조로 설정하고, 1개의 Flatten Layer, 3개의 Dense Layer, 1개의 Batch Normalization Layer를 배열하고, 마지막으로 1개의 Dense Layer가 연결되는 구조로 설계하였다. 이와 함께, 각 층의 활성화 함수는 정규화 선형함수 (ReLu)로, 마지막 Dense Layer의 활성화 함수는 연속변수가 도출될 수 있도록 회귀모형에서 자주 사용되는 Linear 함수로 설정하였다. 연구의 대상지역은 경기도 가평군 조종천 유역으로 선정하였고, 연구기간은 2010년 1월 1일부터 2019년 12월 31일까지로, 2010년부터 2016년까지의 자료는 모형의 학습에, 2017년부터 2019년까지의 자료는 모형의 성능평가에 활용하였다. 모형의 예측 성능은 모형효율계수 (NSE), 평균제곱근오차(RMSE) 및 평균절대백분율오차(MAPE)를 이용하여 평가하였다. 그 결과, BOD 부하량에 대한 NSE는 0.9, RMSE는 1031.1 kg/day, MAPE는 11.5%로 나타났으며, 총인 부하량에 대한 NSE는 0.9, RMSE는 53.6 kg/day, MAPE는 17.9%로 나타나 본 연구의 모형은 우수(good)한 것으로 판단하였다. 이에, 본 연구의 모형은 일반 ANN 모형을 이용한 선행연구와는 달리 2차원 공간정보를 반영하여 오염부하량 모의가 가능했으며, 제한적인 입력자료를 이용하여 간편한 모델링이 가능하다는 장점을 나타냈다. 이를 통해 정부의 물관리 정책을 위한 의사결정 및 부족한 물관리 분야의 행정력에 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다.

A Low Cost 3D Skin Wrinkle Reconstruction System Based on Stereo Semi-Dense Matching (반 밀집 정합에 기반한 저가형 3차원 주름 데이터 복원)

  • In the paper, we proposed a new system to retrieve 3D wrinkle data based on stereo images. Usually, 3D reconstruction based on stereo images or video is very popular and it is the research focus, which has been applied for culture heritage, building and other scene. The target is object measurement, the scene depth calculation and 3D data obtained. There are several challenges in our research. First, it is hard to take the full information wrinkle images by cameras because of light influence, skin with non-rigid object and camera performance. We design a particular computer vision system to take winkle images with a long length camera lens. Second, it is difficult to get the dense stereo data because of the hard skin texture image segmentation and corner detection. We focus on semi-dense stereo matching algorithm for the wrinkle depth. Compared with the 3D scanner, our system is much cheaper and compared with the physical modeling based method, our system is more flexible with high performance.

Especially, the proposed shopping mali is 3D interaction Cyber Shopping mall based on 'Rich media Technique' and it different with existing shopping mall. This system is represent to Hyper view when the customer click the object what they want to buy during cyber space tour. This system can be Move, Rotate, Zoom in, Zoom out and Play the object. This system can increase customer's feeling more interesting, immersion, etc. And 3D objects look like a real thing get out of the conventional 2D image form is great contribute to increase customer's interest.

Real-time Humanoid Robot Trajectory Estimation and Navigation with Stereo Vision (스테레오 비전을 이용한 실시간 인간형 로봇 궤적 추출 및 네비게이션)

  • This paper presents algorithms for real-time navigation of a humanoid robot with a stereo vision but no other sensors. Using the algorithms, a robot can recognize its 3D environment by retrieving SIFT features from images, estimate its position through the Kalman filter, and plan its path to reach a destination avoiding obstacles. Our approach focuses on estimating the robot’s central walking path trajectory rather than its actual walking motion by using an approximate model. This strategy makes it possible to apply mobile robot localization approaches to humanoid robot localization. Simple collision free path planning and motion control enable the autonomous robot navigation. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of our approach.
