As high speed Internet service technology develops. many people are accessing wireless internet service by using mobile devices. However. an HTLM web page for PC is not very compatible with wireless internet because of its unnecessary advertisements, high resolution. and various multimedia data. This is because the main focus when creating it was on high speed. As this research indicates with the RSS channel. converted from the main part of the HTLM web page, which users show interest in. a wireless compatibleinternet page can easily be created. Consequently, web administrators could create a wireless page easily and quickly, and wireless users would be able to find information in the same manner.

Visible light communication system transmits data by controlling light emission of LED and receives data through photo detecter, which is considered as one of strong candidates of next generation wireless communication systems. The transmission capacity of visible light communication system depends on light intensity emitted from LED, sensitivity of PD, distance between transmitter and receiver, angle of incidence at the receiver. In particular, the receiver's vertical and horizontal movement changes distance between transmitter and receiver and angle of incidence, which may degrades transmission capacity of system. In this paper, we propose an estimation algorithm of receiver's position and angle based on tracking of received light intensity for indoor visible light communication systems. The performance evaluation of proposed algorithm confirms that the estimation algorithm of receiver's position and angle is quite important for visible light communication system to improve its transmission capacity.

인터넷의 급격한 발전과 이용자의 증가로 인터넷은 이미 우리 사회에서 없어서는 안 될 중요한 요소가 되었다. 이러한 인터넷의 발달은 IT산업의 핵심요소가 되었으며 그 중요성이 점점 부각되고 있다. 특히 무선 네트워크는 다양한 단말기(노트북, PDA, 스마트폰)가 대중화되었고 이를 지원하는 표준이 만들어졌으며, 무선 네트워크 사용지역의 확대로 인하여 언제 어디에서나 정보환경에 가까이 접근할 수 있는 여건이 마련되었다. 그러나 이동성이 좋고 편리한 무선 네트워크의 장점의 이면에는 개인정보가 유출될 수 있는 치명적인 문제점들이 드러나기 시작했는데, 케이블을 사용하는 유선환경과는 달리 무선환경에서는 전파를 이용하여 통신하는 점을 악용하여 무선 AP를 도청하거나 패킷을 스니핑하여 개인정보를 유출하는 사례가 빈번하게 일어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 사용되고 있는 무선 네트워크의 기술표준을 분석해보고 실제 무선환경에서 개인정보가 얼마나 쉽게 노출될 수 있는가를 알아보기 위해 제작한 사설 안테나를 사용하여 무선 AP의 신호를 가로채 패킷을 분석하는 방법을 시연한다. 또한 안테나 각각의 지름을 달리하여 신호강도의 차이가 얼마나 있는지 분석하고, 개인정보를 보호하기 위한 방법을 제시한다.

최근 휴대폰, PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) 등 이동 단말기의 발전으로 개인 정보 관리 위주로만 사용하던 이동 단말기의 역할이 게임, 원격 감시 분야 등 여러 분야로 확대되었다. 원격 감시 분야의 경우, 초기에는 하드웨어의 단순한 유선 연결만을 이용하여 감시 하였다. 원격 감시 기술은 인터넷 등장과 함께 급속도로 발전, 보급되었고 웹으로도 원격 감시를 할 수 있게 되었다. 하지만, 웹을 이용한 방식은 공간과 시간의 제약이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 무선 인터넷이 가능한 이동 단말기와 원격 감시 분야를 접목시킴으로써 공간과 시간 제약 없이 원격 감시를 할 수 있게 된다. 이동 단말기에는 원격 감시 소프트웨어가 탑재된다. 소프트웨어를 통해 서버에 접근할 때는 사용자인증을 하여 영상에 대한 보안성을 높였다. 이 때 서버와 이동 단말기 간의 통신은 영상과 제어 메시지를 통하여 수행하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 이동 단말기인 PDA에 원격 감시 소프트웨어를 탑재하여 가정 또는 공장 등에 있는 서버와 영상, 제어 메시지를 통하여 감시와 제어를 할 수 있는 원격 감시 시스템의 구조를 제안한다.

Recent popularity of web-ready mobile devices such as PDA and cellphone has made mobile Internet access very popular. However, most of existing Web contents and services are optimized for desktop computing environment and not well suited for mobile devices. Considering different system features of mobile devices such as small display and limited input capability, an alternative scheme to access the Web efficiently is required. On the other hand, personalization plays an important role in the tailored access to the Web contents and services. In this paper, we propose a proxy- based personalization scheme of Web service pages for mobile users. For that purpose, in addition to log data. service related features of Web pages are considered for the correct identification of popular services. It automatically provides mobile users with the tailored list of Web services well suited for diverse mobile devices. Consequently, mobile users can utilize customized Web services with minimum navigation on the mobile devices with limited capability. In order to show its effectiveness, we have performed several experiments on the prototype system and reported some of the results.

In this paper, we estimate consumers' preferences for the key attributes of the future mobile telecommunication terminal using conjoint analysis. For statistical model, we estimate the mixed legit model which can reflect the heterogeneity of consumers' preferences, using the Bayesian approach with Gibbs sampling. The results show that there are large variations in consumers' preferences for the attributes of the future mobile telecommunication terminal, which justifies our using of mixed logit model. Also, the results show that most consumers prefer the medium size display and keyboard as input equipment. Additionally, far from general prediction, the results show that many consumers are indifferent to whether the future mobile telecommunication terminal is able to provide high quality internet service or not, and to operate many application programs and programs originally designed for PC. From those results, we can obtain some important implications for the R＆D strategies. Additionally, the results on the heterogeneity of consumers' preferences reveal that it is possible that the complete device convergence may not happen.

최근 들어 무선인터넷 단말기로 보다 효율적으로 인터넷에 접근하여 정보를 제공하고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 사용자는 유선 인터넷으로 제공받는 컨텐츠를 휴대가 간편한 무선 이동통신으로 제공받고자 하는 욕구가 점점 늘어나고 있고 이러한 원인으로 다양한 무선 컨텐츠의 제공이 요구된다. 그러나 다양한 무선 단말기의 특성에 따라 컨텐츠를 새롭게 개발하는데는 개발비용, 기간이 많이 들게 되므로 기존의 웹 컨텐츠를 활용하여 무선환경에 맞는 문서변환 기술 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유선 인터넷상의 컨텐츠를 무선 환경으로 손쉽게 변환할 수 있는 XML(eXensible Markup Language)기술을 활용한 변환기(Generator)구조를 설계하고 이와 관련된 XML Generator, RuleSet Management, Clipping Toolkit 등의 기능을 정의하여 보다 효율적으로 무선 컨텐츠로 변환하는 기술을 소개한다.

SyncML 기반의 단말기 관리 방안은 급속도로 확산되는 이동 통신 단말기 관리에 대한 필요성에 부합하여 최근 OMA(Open Mobile Alliance)에서 제정한 표준이다. 그러나 현재까지 SyncML 기반의 단말기 관리 시스템을 구현한 사례가 없어 제시한 표준에 대한 기술적인 검증이 이루어지지 않은 상태이다. 본 논문에서는 표준으로 제시한 단말기 관리 방안의 기술적인 검증과 무선 통신 단말기 관리 필요성을 충족시키기 위하여 SyncML 기반의 단말기 시스템 개발의 중간 결과로서 설계 결과를 제시한다.

SDR 기술은 다양한 무선통신 환경(다중모드, 다중표준, 다중대역, 다중기능)에 유연하게 개처하기 위하여 하나의 공통 하드웨어 사용자가 원하는 응용 소프트웨어(무선 프로토콜 규격)로 재구성할 수 있는 개방형 신호처리 기술이다. 그러므로 SDR은 이러한 이동통신시장의 변화에 적극적으로 대처하기 위한 핵심기술로써, 통신시장이 직면하고 있는 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 해결책 중의 하나로 고려되고 있다. 본 고에서는 SCA 기반 SDR 단말기 구현을 위해, 통신 애플리케이션 소프트웨어를 지원하는 하부 구조 관점에서 SCA Core Framework의 구조 및 기능을 기술하고, ETRI에서 SCA 2.2 규격을 준수하여 개발한 SCARLET 미들웨어 및 SDR 공용 단말 하드웨어를 소개하고, SCA 기반의 HSDPA/T-DMB 응용 컴포넌트 구현을 통한 실험 내용을 소개한다.

무선랜 환경에서는 데이터 링크 레이어의 전달 매체와 물리적 계층이 기존의 유선 네트워크와는 근본적으로 다른 특성을 지닌다. 무선랜 환경에서는 공중망을 전달 매체로 하여 통신이 이루어진다. 그리고 무선랜 환경에서는 단말기들의 이동성에 의해 네트워크 상태가 가변적으로 변하기 때문에, 이러한 환경에서 유선과는 또 다른 보안상의 문제점들을 가지게 된다. 본 논문은 무선 구간에서 유동적으로 발생하는 네트워크의 상태와 정보들을 수집하여 무선 구간에서만 이루어질 수 있는 보안상의 문제점들을 파악하고 대처하는 무선랜 환경에서 상태 정보 수집 에이전트를 설계하고 구현한다.
