  • Researchers have continuously investigated the issues of customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and repurchase intention of customers in Internet shopping malls, a fast growing e-bisiness model in Korea. At present, most Internet shopping malls in Korea offer similar services to their customers. This has caused intense industry competition, and the Internet shopping malls have made significant investments into their websites in order to remain attractive to their customers. This research examines the relationships among website charateristics, customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repurchase intention. Website characteristics include context, commerce, connection, communication, contents, community, and customization. We have used data from a field study of 662 individuals to test the proposed model. The results of this research show that among the 7 website characteristics, context, communication, content, and commerce are the significant determinants of customer satisfaction. In turn, customer satisfaction increases customer loyalty and repurchase intention. These findings have important theoretical and practical implications, which are discussed in the paper.

  • The development of the Internet has influenced consumers' information search process and purchase behaviors. The environmental changes and consumers' lifestyle changes have stimulated them to use the Internet shopping mall. However, people used to shop the low-involvement product rather than high-involvement product such as clothing product at the internet shopping mall due to the subjects' perceived risks or product characteristics. The purpose of this study is to examine the differences of consumers' attitudes toward the two types of apparel internet shopping mall. With compared to the existing shopping mall, this study generated Web3D internet shopping mall by designing Abata, representing the user's body figure. The changes of respondents' attitudes toward the internet shopping mall and purchase intentions would provide the possibility and future direction of the Web3D internet shopping. Recommendations and future research were also discussed.

  • 'Live commerce', a brand new format of online shopping, is actively promoted in China recently. This research focused on 'Taobao-live', China's largest live commerce platform to investigate the relationships among para-social interaction, source characteristics (e.g., trustworthiness, attractiveness, and expertise), perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and shopping intention based on Technology Acceptance Model. A total of 536 Taobao live users were recruited through the Chinese research platform. The results showed that para-social interactivity positively affected perceived ease of use and usefulness, whereas the source characteristics had no significant effect on consumers' perceptions. Furthermore, higher perceived ease of use generated higher perceived usefulness, and both perceived ease of use and usefulness positively influenced consumers' intention to shop through Taobao live. This research can provide theoretical background for understanding the potential of live commerce platforms and help brands come up with effective online shopping strategies using live commerce platforms.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to examine the effects of e-CRM activities by the internet shopping mall companies on the purchase activities of purchase customers and the potential customers. The internet shopping companies utilize e-CRM to systematically identify customers' varying demands, and to utilize the results as marketing tools, thus producing a significant effect on the potential customers by generating customer feedback through e-Community. Contrary to their intention, however, cognitive dissonance can occur through e-Community, which may lead to customers' complaints. If these complaints are not properly managed and settled in a timely manner, they can be transferred to other potential customers, and the conformity phenomenon could be created by other complaining customers. Findings obtained through this thesis are as follows: If cognitive disharmony is created by customers who purchased products through the internet shopping malls, this can lead to private complaining behaviors, and subsequently, these behaviors are formed through e-Community. If the internet shopping mall companies do not take any timely and proper measures to intervene in the stage of private complaining behaviors in the first place, these behaviors will immediately escalate into the public complaining behaviors. Furthermore, the complaints will be transferred to other potential customers, ultimately resulting in their swift expansion. In other words, contrary to intention of the internet shopping mall companies, e-CRM does not facilitate the potential customers purchase decision, it rather affects them to postpone or withdraw their purchase decision. Accordingly, the internet shopping mall companies are required to manage e-Community with extreme care, and they should promptly respond to the complaining customers so that e-Community can function properly.
