  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of mother's parenting attitudes on children's clothing orientation and clothing purchase behaviors. The questionnaires for this study were distributed to 166 fifth and sixth graders of elementary schools and 166 their mothers in Seoul. The data were analyzed through chi-square test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA, and LSD test. Responses were classified as 4 groups (Acceptance-Autonomy, Acceptance-Control, Rejection-Autonomy, and Rejection- Control groups) based on mother's parenting attitude. The four groups showed significant differences both in clothing orientation and clothing purchase behaviors. Especially, the Rejection-Control group, which is easily influenced by peer students, placed much emphasis on fashionability of clothing and showed strong complaining behaviors toward unsatisfactory clothing selected by their mothers. Study results suggest the importance of mother's parenting attitude on analysis of target market for children's wear.

First, the differences of age groups were investigated according to clothing purchase behavior, which include purchase item, purchase price, purchase channel, information resources, purchase frequency, and monthly clothing expenditures. Second, the differences of segmented groups by age variable were investigated according to clothing purchase behaviors after segmenting consumers by clothing shopping orientation. An on-line survey was conducted from July 2 to July 10, 2019, and 500 data were collected from adults aged 20s to 60s who had bought their own clothes within one year. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, chi-squared test, ANOVA and Duncan-test using SPSS 21.0. This findings showed that there were significant differences in purchase item, purchase price, purchase channel, purchase frequency, and information resources according to age group. As a result of segmentation by shopping orientation, consumers were classified into three groups of high shopping involvement, low shopping involvement, and economic pursuit. • Consumers nowadays spend more time using computers and are getting used to buying products through the Internet(Park, 2002), and therefore, understanding consumers' impulse buying behavior in an online shopping context is also important for retailers. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between online apparel impulse buying behavior and the two risk dimensions of apparel involvement(i.e., risk importance, risk probability). The data were collected using an online survey with a structured questionnaire. A total of 339 college students were used in the study. The results of MANOVA showed that the impulse buyer group perceived the risk importance and risk probability of apparel involvement significantly lower. Based on the results, the two hypotheses were supported. From the results of the present study, it is concluded that the two risk dimensions of apparel involvement are negatively related to online impulse buying behavior of apparel products. From the results of the present study, it is concluded that the risk dimensions of apparel involvement are closely related to the online apparel impulse buying behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediate effect of gender on the differences of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest. Data was collected from 280 men and women of their twentieth and analyzed using crosstab analysis, ANOVA, scheff'e test, x$^{2}$ test, and regression. The results are as follows. First, high interest groups showed little difference in the clothing shopping orientation and showed significant differences in the clothing purchasing behaviors(visiting store, time spent for shopping, and monthly clothing expenditure) between men and women. Second, low interest groups showed a lot of differences in both the clothing shopping orientation and the clothing purchasing behaviors between men and women. Third, several dimensions of clothing shopping orientation were more influenced from fashion interest level rather than the gender of consumers, and other several dimensions, visiting store, and the time spent for shopping were more influenced from gender rather than fashion interest level. These results imply that the gender of consumer has mediate effect on the behaviors of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest, and the consumers of same fashion interest level must be approached concerning the gender of consumers.
