  • 가상현실 기술의 발전 및 보급에 따라 컴퓨터 게임을 비롯하여 의료분야에 이르기까지 다양한 장르에서 사용이 되고 있다. 이에 따라 일반적인 사람들의 경우도 가상환경을 손쉽게 체험할 수 있어, 가상환경 노출에 따른 인체의 영향을 심각히 고려해야할 상황에 와 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 두부장착형 3차원 영상표시장치에 의한 가상환경 노출이 인체에 미치는 영향 중 가상환경 멀미에 주안점을 두어, SSQ검사 및 신체동요도 측정을 통하여, 가상환경 멀미를 정량적으로 측정하는 연구를 수행하였다.

  • 이 연구는 자폐 스펙트럼 장애(ASD)를 가진 아이들을 대상으로 한 디지털 치료제의 필요성을 탐구하고자 한다. ASD는 사회 생활 및 관심사에 제한을 가지고 있으며, 현재까지는 진단과 치료에 대한 효과적인 방법이 없는 상황이다. 최근 디지털 기술과 의료가 결합된 치료제의 중요성이 부각되고 있기에, 저자는 이를 통해 시간과 비용을 절감하는 디지털 치료 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 대화형 인공지능을 활용하여 스무 고개 게임을 통해 자폐 스펙트럼 장애를 가진 아이들의 사회성 기술을 향상시키는 플랫폼을 개발하고자 한다. ASD특성을 고려하여 디지털 기기에 익숙한 아이들에게 소통을 훈련시키는 효과를 기대한다.

  • 3D rendering is a critical process for a movie production, advertisement, interior simulation, medical and many other fields. Recently, several effective rendering methods have been developed for the photo-realistic image generation. With a rapid performance enhancement of graphics hardware, physically based 3D rendering algorithm can now often be approximated in real-time games. However, the high quality of global illumination, required for the image generation in the 3D animation production community is a still very expensive process. In this paper, we propose a new rendering method to create photo-realistic global illumination effect efficiently by harnessing the high power of the recent GPUs. Final gathering routines in our global illumination module are accelerated by programmable graphics hardware. We also simulate physically based light transport on a ray tracing based rendering algorithm with photon mapping effectively.

3D Adaptive Bilateral Filter for Ultrasound Volume Rendering (초음파 볼륨 렌더링을 위한 3차원 양방향 적응 필터)

  • This paper introduces effective noise removal method for medical ultrasound volume data. Ultrasound volume data need to be filtered because it has a lot of noise. Conventional 2d filtering methods ignore information of adjacent layers and conventional 3d filtering methods are slow or have simple filter that are not efficient for removing noise and also don't equally operate filtering because that don't take into account ultrasound' sampling character. To solve this problem, we introduce method that fast perform in parallel bilateral filtering that is known as good for noise removal and adjust proportionally window size depending on that's position. Experiments compare noise removal and loss of original data among average filtered or biliteral filtered or adaptive biliteral filtered ultrasound volume rendering images. In this way, we can more efficiently and correctly remove noise of ultrasound volume data.

  • In this paper, we study smart healthcare devices that enable active health care by building health care system with acquaintances or family members rather than single health care. The company develops health care services for families regardless of age and gender through intuitive UI design as a target for young users who serve elderly parents. Automated collection of health information and real-time feedback are available, and data can be aggregated and analyzed through repeaters. It can also utilize structured databases in the form of big data. The services offered can be used to prevent diseases and reduce medical expenses through health care, while automatic management can maximize users' convenience and increase demand. By reducing the development period of products that are based on this technology, reducing the development period of products and strengthening competitiveness, the company has the advantage of inducing generation-to-generation communication in an era when it is becoming a nuclear family.

  • A 3D laser scanner is widely used in various fields such as games, movies, medicines, art, design, etc. Many studies for utilizing the 3D laser scanner in the fields of civil engineering have also been carried out, for example, for systematically managing tunnel and/or bridge construction. However, since a software which is directly applicable to Korean construction system does not exist, the amount of data obtained from existing the 3D laser scanner is too much to handle in a systematic way. Therefore, in this paper, a new data processing technique was established which can rapidly and effectively treat the 3D laser scanning data. Moreover, a software that can systematically manage the tunnel construction was developed. The developed software can assess the construction quality of tunnel excavation such as under-break, over-break, cracks, leakage and efflorescence, etc. A 3D laser scanner and the developed software was applied to an in-situ tunnelling site, and verified usefulness of the 3D laser scanner. The developed software may be useful for tunnel maintenance as well as for systematic management of tunnel construction.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop Dementia-diagnosis application program through inter-working between biometric sensors and smart phone with diagnostic programs. Receiving data from 2 biometric sensors, SpO2 and HRV(heart rate variability) with Bluetooth and adding scores from questionnaires and memory test game, smart phone can draw a final Dementia Index(DI). Simple clinical tests provided threshold for Dementia, and diagnosis was made by comparing the DI with the threshold. We performed testing on persons aged over 60 and found out the proposed application can be used to diagnose Dementia easily and quickly. Additionally, we have shown the potential of oxygen chamber combined with Dementia-diagnosis application as a medical equipment to ease or cure Dementia in its early stages.

  • Recently, virtual reality contents are being experimented and introduced in various fields such as game, education, medical, exhibition, movie, SNS. However, research on virtual reality is mainly focused on industrial and technological perspectives, so contents-centric or contents-oriented research is on virtual reality is very rare. In order to prepare for the future of virtual reality properly, content-oriented research is very much needed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the types, characteristics, and possibilities of virtual reality contents applied to theme parks. For this purpose, we tried to classify the contents type of virtual reality based theme park. The criteria of type classification are divided into 'fixed type', 'continuous moving type', and 'segmented moving type' according to the player's position movement possibility and movement type, here we combine the senses such as tactile, taste, smell, balance etc.

  • 3차원 영상 기술은 방송, 영화, 게임, 의료, 국방 등 다양한 기존 산업들과 융합하며 새로운 패러다임을 형성하고 있으며, 고품질 및 고해상도의 3차원 영상 획득에 대한 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 이에 따라, 최근에는 3차원 입체 영상을 제작 하는 방법 중 하나인 2D-plus-Depth 구조에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 2D-plus-Depth 구조는 Charge-Coupled Device(CCD) 센서 등을 이용한 일반 카메라와 깊이 카메라를 결합한 형태로써 이 구조로부터 얻은 깊이 영상의 해상도를 상향 변환하기 위해서 Joint Bilateral Upsampling(JBU)[1], 컬러 영상의 정보를 활용한 보간법[2] 등의 방법들이 사용된다. 하지만 이 방법들은 깊이 영상을 높은 배율로 상향 변환할 경우 텍스처가 복사되거나 흐림 및 블록화 현상이 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 2D-plus-Depth 구조에서 얻은 고해상도 컬러 영상에서 보간 정보를 구하고 이 정보를 저해상도의 깊이 영상에 적용하여 상향 변환된 가이드 깊이 영상을 제작한다. 이 가이드 깊이 영상을 Bilateral Filtering[8]을 이용함으로써 고품질의 고해상도 깊이 영상을 획득한다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법으로 해상도를 상향 변환을 할 경우에 기존의 보간법들에 비해 깊이 영상의 특성을 잘 보존함을 확인할 수 있고, 가이드 깊이 영상에 필터링을 처리한 결과가 JBU의 결과보다 향상됨을 확인할 수 있다.

  • The human information is considered as the national information infrastructure that could be used in the field of medical, sports, safety, military, game etc. The KISTI(Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) start to produce the Korean human information since 2000 and continue to produce these data at present. These data involve visible Korean crosssectional images, digital Korean crosssectional bone images, human bone properties, 3-dimensional human bone models etc. The KISTI spread these data to professors, researchers and companies in domestic and abroad for promoting the usage of these data. On this study, we introduce the foreign case study of the human information usage at first, and we also show the investigation result of Korean human information usage that contains the detailed contents of usage, characteristics, and suggestions.
