  • The purpose of this study is to get the data for architectural planning and design of health center, through researching actual conditions of the facilities. So statistical data and activities of facilities were surveyed and analyzed. Finally, the present conditions and problems of the facilities were discussed and these results can be utilized for the data necessary for design and planning of health center.

  • According to the increase of medical demand for aged, many of geriatric hospitals have been needed. But Korea has been short of them and has not prepared the planning guidelines. This paper aimes to identify the design concept of geriatric hospitals and provides the basic data for architectural planning of these hospitals.

  • This study indicates bed-transfer as the significant behavior of a ward and points out architecture that cannot meet the patient's need. It is examined that inpatient's behavior depends on visibility, psychological security, privacy & communication, control, support and this study applies them to analyze the selected cases. This study also emphasizes the supportive role of hospital architecture so that the function of a ward as a healing environment may be maintained.

  • This study shows the 'design guide-line' for the handicapped people who uses certain buildings or facilities, for Barrier Free. It has the object that they are able to utilize the facilities in the variable buildings basically and to approach to informations without difficulties. So, it can be used as 'design guide-line' for the handicapped people through several architectural criterions.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the facllity management data for hospitals. The work scope of facility management(FM) for hospitals was comprehensively and concretely classified. The methods of FM are compared between Korean hospitals and Japan hospitals. A domestic hospital has some problems in FM. Some indexes of FM are abstracted in the Korean hospital through the comparison.

  • This study provide the planning guidelines for the existing and the new alternative. On the bases of survey and analysis, the basic data for OP-Unit have been proposed in consideration of the development of medical science and hygiene, economic conditions during the last twenty years in Germany. The results of the study were firstly, genera1 basic data, secondly, guidelines of the architectural design for OP-Unit und rooms, thirdly, new alternative OP-Unit with 2 and 3 operation rooms.

  • The validity of new building prototypes must be confirmed to support the design process for comparable future projects. This project invovled a post-occupancy study at a new women's health center that provides LDR/P (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum). The study's objectives were to test whether the intentions of the designers were effectively executed, to provide feedback to the hospital about the new facility, and to provide design guidelines.

This study suggest new operation method and its planning guidelines.
