Methods: The participants of the study were 65 emergency room employees in S area. Results: First, education was helpful if you actively participated in education, and if you did not actively participate in education, education was shown to be of little or no help (χ2(p)= .000 p-value<.05). Second, formal education (53.3%) was identified as the problem of preventive education currently in place of education, and statistics show that the biggest problem with applying emergency room violence prevention education at worksites is a lack of active support (41.7%) from the police and hospitals. Third, 48.3 percent of the respondents thought that the education methods invited experts were appropriate for emergency room violence prevention education. Conclusion: The problem with the current emergency room violence prevention education is that it is necessary to establish a connection program between hospitals and police stations and give lectures by experts in violence prevention education to apply the contents of the educational curriculum in the workplace with one time and formal education.

  • Purpose: This is a descriptive research study that aims to identify factors affecting fatigue by examining the degree of emotional labor, job stress, and fatigue of 119 emergency medical technicians (119 EMTs). The correlation between emotional labor, job stress, and fatigue was also confirmed. Methods: A total of 139 EMTs working in the Daejeon area participated in this study. Data were collected from July 6-15, 2021. Results: When the number of dispatches was high and the job was dissatisfying, the degree of emotional labor was high. In addition, the shorter the work experience and the lower the job satisfaction are, the higher the job stress is. The degree of fatigue was significantly higher in female than male 119 EMTs, and when they had short work experience and were dissatisfied with their job, the degree of fatigue was higher. Moreover, there was a significant correlation between emotional labor, job stress, and fatigue of the 119 EMTs. Conclusion: To reduce emotional labor, job stress, and fatigue of 119 EMTs, appropriate interventions for each factor and institutional improvements are required.

Methods: Among industrial accidents in 2020, the accident characteristics and initial first aid that occurred at construction sites were analyzed, and the emergency dispatch of 119 paramedics was analyzed through the SPSS method. Results: The incidence of serious accidents was high at small and medium-sized construction sites with less than 50 workers, and the incidence of falls was high, and there were few first responders who could provide first aid in the beginning. Therefore, it is necessary to improve first aid response capabilities at small construction sites. Conclusion: In order to improve the ability to respond to first aid at construction sites, it is necessary to deploy first responders and strengthen first aid education.

  • Purpose: This protocol aims to improve the simplicity of the existing two-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by focusing on chest compressions and artificial respiration, and classifying the roles within the scope that can be observed. Methods: In this study, the protocol was developed by forming an expert group consisting of a professor from the emergency and rescue department, a professor from the nursing department, and a first aid officer from the fire department. In addition, if the number of panels is 15 and the derived content validity ratio (CVR) value exceeds 0.49, a reference point that satisfies content validity at 95% reliability is presented. Results: All 11 performance items exceeded the CVR value of 0.49 to meet the reference point, and the CVR range of this protocol is 0.625 to 1.000. Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of three-person CPR, verification of simulation models and continuous protocol revision should be conducted by individuals specializing in various fields.

Methods: Data from the Community-Based Severe Trauma Survey in Korea were analyzed using a retrospective case-control design. Factors associated with death were identified by age using independent-samples t-tests, Welch's test, and χ2 tests. Results: There were statistically significant differences in mortality by sex (p=.006), location (p=.029), mechanism of injury (MOI) (p<.001), intention (p<.001), transportation (p<.001), surgery (p<.001), and Injury Severity Score (ISS) (p<.001) in the ≤44 years age group; by location (p<.001), MOI (p=.004), intention (p<.001), transportation (p<.001), surgery (p<.001), and ISS (p<.001) in the 45-54 years age group; by location (p=.040), MOI (p<.001), transportation (p<.001), transfusion (p<.001), surgery (p<.001), and ISS (p<.001) in the 55-64 years age group; by location (p=.015), intention (p<.001), surgery (p<.001), and ISS (p<.001) in the 65-74 years age group; and by location (p=.002), intention (p<.001), transfusion (p=.020), surgery (p<.001), and ISS (p<.001) in the ≥75 years age group. Conclusion: In patients with major trauma, predictors of mortality varied by age.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to observe change in factors over time in the first cohort of the 2018 Children and Adolescent Panel Middle School. In addition, this study attempted to examine the causal relationship and influence between variables by setting a time gap between independent and dependent variables. Methods: Frequency and descriptive statistical analyses were conducted to determine the general characteristics of the study participants. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to analyze the effects of smartphone dependence on health, sleep quality, and depression. After inputting the control variables (Model 2), the influence of the variables was identified based on the input model. Results: Smartphone dependence positively impacted depression in both male and female students and negatively impacted sleep and health. Conclusion: Smartphones are closely associated with teenagers' lives. Additionally, as adolescents experience various psychological anxieties owing to rapid physical changes, there are concerns that psychological dependence may increase, considering that adolescence is the most emotionally unstable period. Therefore, the results of this study consistently prove that smartphone dependence has a causal relationship with emotion-related variables, such as emotional stress, depression, and anxiety.
