한국 베이비붐세대의 은퇴 후 주거 선택과 이동 특성 (Residential Choice and Mobility of Korean Babyboomer after Retirement)

  • 본 연구는 한국베이비붐세대의 은퇴후 주거선택을 고찰하기 위해 은퇴 후 주거선택 기준, 선호하는 주택유형, 규모 및 주거이동특성 등에 대하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국의 베이비붐세대는 은퇴 후에는 은퇴 전과 다른 기준으로 주거를 선택할 가능성이 높으며, 쾌적성과 편의성이 높은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 둘째, 베이비붐세대는 은퇴 후 아파트거주 비율이 대폭 축소될 것으로 보이며, 반면 전원주택 및 타운하우스의 거주를 선호하는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 베이비붐세대는 은퇴 후 주거면적을 일괄적으로 축소하는 것이 아니라 현재 보유 주택규모에 따라 다른 형태를 보일 것으로 추정된다. 넷째, 한국 베이비붐세대는 은퇴 후 62.4%가 주거이동을 계획하고 있고, 이 중 지역 간 이동은 주거이동가구수의 과반수가 넘는 52.3%에 달해 은퇴 후 활발한 주거이동이 예상된다. 다섯째, 한국의 베이비붐세대의 지역 내 이동과 지역 간 이동에 영향을 미치는 영향변수가 다른 것으로 분석되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of financial management styles and retirement planning. The results of this study were as follows: Among respondents systematic managers feeling managers analyzing managers, and holistic managers were respectively 20.1%, 19.5%, 30.8% and 29.6% Several variables such as education total household income and occupation had significant differences by the financial management style. Within the group of retirement planner analyzing manager held the first place whereas holistic manager ranked the first in non-planner group. Retirement planning age which is appropriate for starting to plan the degree of systematic retirement planning and life expectancy had significant difference by the financial management style.

중년기 남녀 봉급생활자의 은퇴계획 비교 분석 : 경제적 준비와 건강준비를 중심으로 (A Comparison of Male and Female Middle-Aged Salaried Workers' Retirement Plans: Economic Preparation and Health Care Plans)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze middle-aged salaried workers' retirement plans and the factors that affect the plans. The main point of this study was to compare male workers with female workers on their economic preparation and health care plans. The major findings were as follows; First, middle-aged salaried workers perceived their level of economic retirement plan to be relatively low. Second, the factors the affected the level of economic preparation for post-retirement were their current subjective economic level, age, household assets and debts, economic and health problems expected in their future elderly life, and savings and assets reserved for their elderly life. Third, the factors that affected whether to put aside savings for elderly life or not were age, current subjective economic level, capital assets, and savings and assets reserved for their elderly life. Fourth, the level of preparation for post-retirement health care depended on health problems expected in their elderly life, current subjective economic level, locus of control, job, and expected retirement age. Overall, the factors that affect male salaried workers' economic and health care plans were different from those of female salaried workers. From the findings, it can be concluded that the middle-aged salaried workers' level of economic retirement plans was different from that of their health care plans. Also, male salaried workers' level of retirement plan were different from that of female workers.

맞벌이 부부가계의 은퇴계획 : 남편과 부인의 은퇴예상연령 및 관련변인을 중심으로 (Retirement Planning of Two earner households : Expected Age of Retirement of husbands and wives and Related Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to show the expected age of retirement of the couple, husband and wife, individually, the difference between the expected age of retirement of the husband and that of the wife, and to analyze contributing variables. The sample in this study numbered 517, of which 229 were husbands and 288 were wives. The independent variables were divided into three factors including personal, financial, and work related variables. The results of this study were as follows. Among two earner households, both husbands and wives expected the husband's age of retirement to be higher than of the wife. The difference between the husband's expected age of retirement and the wife's expected age of retirement was five years, on average. For the husband, personal, financial, and work related variables had effects on his expected age of retirement. However, for the wife it was only the perception of future work life and expected age of retirement of the partner which had very significant effects statistically. The variables affecting the difference between the expected age of retirement of the husband and that of the wife included the personal variables as well as interaction of the couple related variables. The results showed that first of all, the planning of retirement among two earner households needs to be focused on the couple rather than on the individual.

  • '지금 살고 있는 내 집에서 그냥 노후를 보낼까? 아니면 한적한 전원주택으로 옮겨 볼까? 편리한 시설을 갖춘 시니어타운에 들어가는 것도 좋을 것 같은데${\cdots}$'. 은퇴하면 어디서 살지 고민하는 중장년층이 많다. 특히 활동 반경이 축소되고 환경에 대한 적응능력이 떨어지는 노년기엔 사는 곳에 따라 삶의 질이 매우 달라질 수 있다. 건강하고 행복한 노후를 보내기 위해서는 주거 계획을 잘 세우고 주변 환경을 잘 활용하는 것이 필요하다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the overall levels of the middle aged salary men's attitudes toward retirement plan and financial planning for post-retirement life, and to understand the influencing variables such as personal, socio-economical and job characteristics. The data were collected from the 445 middle aged male salary workers through the structured questionnaires and were analysed by SPSS program. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the salary men had different level of perception of retirement issues and retirement planning for post-retirement life. Second, according to the attitudes for retirement planning types, the affecting variables were different. Third, the results of the analysis showed that personal characteristics, job characteristics, economical background and the perception of family care were affecting the level of financial planning for retirement. And the positive attitude was the most crucial variable which affected the financial planning for retirement.

남성 연소노인의 은퇴 후 적응과정과 노년기 조망에 대한 연구 (The Study on the Adaptation Process of Young Old Men and the Perspective after Their Retirement)

  • 은퇴 후 연소노인들이 어떻게 노인이 되어 가고 있으며, 앞으로의 노년기는 어떻게 조망하고 있는지에 대해서 살펴보는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 이 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 10명의 연소노인을 대상으로 이들의 삶의 모습을 살펴보았다. 은퇴 후에도 연소노인들은 계속적으로 일을 하기를 원하였지만, 사회적으로 이들의 일에 대한 지향은 이루어지기 힘든 상황이었다. 이 글은 일을 중심으로 그들의 기대를 낮추는 과정이 어떻게 일어나고 있는지, 이러한 과정 속에서 앞으로의 노년기를 어떻게 조망하고 있는지를 중심으로 기술하였다. 연구 결과, 연소노인들은 끊임없이 자신의 야심 달성에 실패하면서, 그때마다 기대를 낮추도록 요구받고 있었다. 외면적으로 이들의 포부는 점점 사라지는 것처럼 보였다. 그러나 사회적 배제의 과정은 단순히 이들에게 일에 대한 포부뿐만 아니라, 자신의 미래에 대한 계획까지 빼앗고 있었다. 결과적으로, '젊어지려는' 개인과 '조로(早老)시키려는' 사회 사이의 커다란 괴리는 연소노인의 삶의 만족도를 떨어뜨리고 있었다.

대학연계형 은퇴주거단지의 계획 및 운영상의 특성분석 연구 - 미국의 사례를 중심으로 - (An Analysis of University-Based Retirement Communities' Architectural and Managerial Features - With a Focus on Two Cases in the United States -)

  • Many researchers addressed a strong need for providing diverse senior housing options to accommodate different demands from the growing senior population in Korea. One option can be the university-based retirement community (UBRC) which is linked to the adjacent universities and offers various physical, educational, and recreational programs for residents. The primary purpose of this study was to identify major features of the UBRC in terms of development, management, level of college participation, and types of care services for senior residents and to suggest future implementation directions in Korea. Two cases from the United States were selected and investigated to accomplish this goal. Main features of the UBRC were identified as follows: The university linked to each subject community was strongly involved in the development process. Their original residents were mainly recruited from university retirees. The strong university involvement became diminished as the retirement communities got settled down. This study analyzed these architectural, managerial, and development features and suggested future implication directions of university-based retirement communities in Korea.

베이비붐 세대의 은퇴 후 주거이동계획 패턴 연구 -생애상황을 중심으로- (A Study on Patterns of Baby Boomers' Post-retirement Housing Mobility Plan -focusing on life course-)

  • It is estimated that the elderly will constitute 24.3% of the entire Korean population in 2030, when about 7,125,000 baby boomers reach retirement age. Therefore, this aging phenomenon might be the most urgent issue facing Korean society. The baby boom generation shows a strong tendency to dispose of existing residences or move into new housing after retirement, thereby exerting enormous impacts on social and economic sectors as well as the housing market. Against this backdrop, this study aims to identify both factors and patterns behind baby boomer retirees' post-retirement housing transfer trends. To this end, a survey is undertaken here with respect to those baby boomers living in Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu with actual housing transfer plans in the foreseeable future, and who can act as a practical consumer group for the future housing market. This study verifies baby boomers' diverse preferences for housing type. Their preference for apartment houses still remains high in every situation, and this has significant implications for changed preferences of other housing types considering that most of the survey respondents currently reside in apartment houses. According to the survey, there are more than 80 kinds of baby boomers' housing transfer patterns, which demonstrates that more than half of the survey respondents pursue different housing mobility plans. When it comes to the factors behind their housing selection, the baby boom generation shows a strong preference for physical factors. However, environmental and psychological factors gain more momentum under unfavorable circumstances, while social factors play a decisive role in their housing selection in categories such as 'couple/deteriorating health' and 'single/healthy'.
